Really Oud? Or Fruit Cocktail
The name misled me. When I got the fragrance, I expected more oud when spraying it. But it's a beautiful, sweet scent that I find to be rather feminine. At the beginning, I smell the pear and the fig, which I think is a very nice opening; later, jasmine joins in and lightens everything up. I find that the oud is hardly noticeable, if at all, in the background. Towards the end, a light leather accord joins in, but not too strong. I really like the scent on my wife.

The H/S are typically strong for Montale. The longevity is top-notch. The sillage is very good compared to other brands; compared to Montale, the house has other sillage monsters that are stronger, like Arabians Tonka, for example.

Really Intense Cafe?
My wife bought Intense Café blind.
Upon the first spray, I immediately detected a strong coffee note. This was delightful, as I had been looking forward to a strong coffee scent. To my disappointment, the coffee aroma was barely detectable in the background after about 10 minutes. The star of the show is more the rose, which smells really good, but I find it a shame that the coffee fades so quickly. The fragrance develops into a sweet rose/flower direction, and in the drydown, vanilla comes into play. Overall, it’s a lovely scent; my wife loves it, even though I personally would have preferred more coffee.

The longevity and sillage are, as usual with Montale, very good; they just keep managing to create strong fragrances with excellent sillage.

Sillage Monster
The Arabians Tonka has captivated me, I love this scent…

This is exactly my thing: saffron, oud, and tonka bean with an oriental twist. Sure, the fragrance is sweet, but it’s also spicy and beautifully complemented by oud. Everyone loves this scent, my wife adores it.

Now we come to the incredibly special aspect besides the beautiful fragrance.
The longevity and sillage are out of this world. I don’t know any fragrance that performs like this. The lasting power goes until the next day, on clothes even longer. I have never experienced sillage as strong as with Arabians Tonka. I love fragrances that you can smell yourself when you wear them. With every movement, you get a whiff of the scent. When I was on vacation in Thailand and wearing the fragrance, I could smell it while riding a motorcycle, a masterpiece of longevity and sillage achieved so well. This scent will never be absent from my collection and holds a special place in my heart.

Naxos for Summer?
Many refer to the 400 as Naxos for summer. I wouldn't say that.

The 400 is very underrated from the JTC collection. Hardly anyone has this scent on their radar, so it’s not worn by every second person like Naxos or 40 Knots, etc.

The scent starts beautifully floral, but for me as a man, it’s never too floral, constantly accompanied by honey and a fine hint of tobacco, not as strong as the tobacco note in Naxos. That's why many people compare the 400 to Naxos, because of the honey and tobacco. However, the 400 is quite different, floral with honey overtones and very finely balanced, while Naxos is coarser. I find the scent very good, and my wife also likes it on me very much.

The scent is definitely unisex. I think you can wear it in any season, as it’s never too heavy for a summer evening but also not too weak for a winter day.

The sillage and longevity are very good, like the old batches of Naxos!

The bottle is typically beautiful for Xerjoff.

A Vacation by the Sea
I find the scent quite well done, but the longevity on my skin is poor, well, more on that in a moment.

The fragrance is a nice fresh scent that definitely has aquatic notes. The bergamot and green mandarin start off beautifully fresh. However, the scent then takes on a nicely masculine vibe, probably due to the patchouli. Overall, I find the fragrance direction and the scent itself very good. A fresh masculine fragrance.

Unfortunately, the longevity on my skin is poor. After 4 hours, I can hardly smell anything, which is a shame. The sillage is quite good in the first hours but also fades away fairly quickly.

In summary, it can be said that it is a good summer/spring fragrance, but unfortunately with relatively poor longevity.
