Really oud? Or fruit cocktail
I was deceived by the name. When I had the fragrance, I expected more oud when I sprayed it on. But it's a beautiful, sweet, rather feminine fragrance in my opinion. I can smell the pear and the fig at the beginning, which is a very nice opening in my opinion, later the jasmine is added to loosen up the whole thing. I think you can hardly smell the oud at all, if at all in the background. Towards the end, a light leather accord joins in, but not too strong. I really like the fragrance on my wife.
The H/S are typically strong for Montale. The durability is great. The sillage is very good compared to other brands, compared to Montale the house has other sillage monsters that are stronger, such as Arabians Tonka

Really Intense Cafe ?
My wife bought the Intense Café blind.
When I sprayed it on for the first time, I immediately noticed a strong coffee note. This was nice, as I was looking forward to a strong café scent. To my disappointment, after what felt like 10 minutes, the café scent could only be smelled very slightly in the background. The star of the show is rather the rose, which smells really good, but I think it's a shame that the coffee becomes so weak. The fragrance develops in a sweet rose/floral direction and vanilla is added in the drydown. A nice fragrance in itself, my wife loves it, even if I personally would have liked more coffee.
The H/S is very good as usual for Montale, they always manage to create strong fragrances with a super sillage.

Sillage Monster
The Arabians Tonka has done it to me, I love this scent...
This is exactly my kind of saffron, oud and tonka bean with an oriental twist. Sure the scent is sweet, but also spicy and beautiful with oud. Everyone likes the scent, my wife loves it.

The H/S are out of this world. I don't know of any fragrance that performs like this. It lasts until the next day, even longer on clothes. I have never noticed the sillage as strong as with Arabians Tonka. I love fragrances that you can smell yourself when you have them on. You get a whiff of the fragrance every time you move. When I was on vacation in Thailand and had the fragrance on, I could smell the scent while riding my motorcycle, a masterpiece to get durability and sillage so well. The fragrance will never be missing from my collection and has a special place in my heart.

Naxos for the summer?
Many call the 400 a Naxos for the summer. I wouldn't say that.
The 400 is very underrated from the JTC collection. Hardly anyone has the fragrance on their radar, so it doesn't feel like every second person is wearing it like Naxos or 40 Knots etc.
The fragrance starts off beautifully floral, but for me as a man never too floral, constantly accompanied by honey and a fine corpse tobacco, not as strong as the tobacco note in Naxos. That's why many people compare the 400 with Naxos, because of the honey and the tobacco. But the 400 is a completely different floral with honey and very finely tuned, the Naxos is coarser. I find the fragrance very good and my wife also likes it very much on me.
The fragrance is definitely unisex. I think you can wear it at any time of year as it is never too heavy for a summer evening but also not too weak for a winter day.
The H/S is very good, like the old batches of Naxos !

A vacation by the sea
