The Best Designer of 2023
For me, the best designer perfume of 2023!
Jean Paul Gaultier has once again delivered a hit. I am amazed at how they always create a new Le Male without straying too far from the original.

As for the scent, it is sweet, but deliciously sweet, and at the same time, the mint brings in a nice freshness, so it doesn't become too sweet. However, it is not a fresh scent; the mint is only very lightly present at the beginning. Then a dark honey joins in with lavender. This gives the fragrance a certain depth and makes it almost gourmand. The scent envelops you with a certain warmth and smells attractive and mysterious.

The longevity and sillage are very strong for a designer fragrance; it lasts almost the entire day, and with every movement of the body, you perceive the scent.

A perfect fragrance for the colder days, but I also think that due to the mint, it can be worn on summer evenings that are not hot but go up to 24 degrees.

The bottle is the most beautiful in the entire line.

First PDM
The PDM Layton was the first Parfums de Marly fragrance I smelled. To begin with, it is truly a good scent for niche beginners. It is different from the usual designer fragrances but not so much that it would scare off newcomers.

About the fragrance
For me, it is the most pleasing PdM scent. Super easy to like and versatile.
As I mentioned before, it is not too far removed from designers in terms of fragrance type, but with much more depth and much better quality.

Fruity-fresh green apple, bergamot, and lavender in the opening make the scent fresh, but right from the start, I smell a pepper note that gives the fragrance a distinctive spiciness. The floral notes always stay in the background and never let it become too heavy. In the drydown, a very pleasant yet prominent vanilla emerges, which you can enjoy for a long time. Combined with the patchouli and the woody notes, the drydown is incredibly beautiful.

The Layton is actually suitable for any season, although I prefer it in autumn/spring on days that are not too warm and not too cold.

The longevity and sillage are good with the current batches, whereas they were brutal with older batches.
The bottle looks very high-quality, typical of PDM. I think everyone should have smelled it at least once.

The Allrounder
I had smelled 40 Knots a few years ago in a perfume shop and thought it was great there. The play between sweet and salty was something I had never experienced before. Now I thought this scent was missing from my collection, so I ordered it right away. I had read in some forums that it had been reformulated and was said to smell different, the same old issue again.

Well, the fragrance arrived, and I was relatively nervous; is it really as good as I remembered?
After the first sprays, I was relieved, YES, this is IT!

40 Knots starts off aquatic and fresh. After about 20 minutes, it becomes a bit warmer, and a salty and woody note comes into play. The fresh, aquatic aspect is carried throughout in the background. Then it gets a touch of honey, really not too much, sweeter but never too sweet. The combination of salty and sweet makes the fragrance very interesting. The scent exudes a certain elegance and luxury; I can perfectly imagine wearing it on vacation by the sea with a nice shirt.

The fragrance is the allrounder because you can wear it in any season. Although it radiates elegance, you can also wear it in everyday life, of course not with sweatpants but with a nice outfit.

Longevity and sillage are good for a relatively fresh scent.
The bottle looks typically beautiful for Xerjoff, 10/10

Mango Bomb
The most realistic mango I have ever smelled!
The scent reminds me of a delicious mango lassi, but not a ripe mango, rather an unripe one. The fragrance also has a milky quality, hence the reference to mango lassi. It’s amazing how natural the mango smells, and it remains prominent throughout the entire scent development.

It is juicy, fresh, slightly sweet, cheerful, shiny, sunny, milky, creamy, fruity.

The fragrance is perfect as a summer scent, although it can actually be worn in any season; however, it has this cooling, refreshing effect that is ideal for summer.

The scent is definitely unisex, and I really enjoy smelling this wonderful fragrance on my wife.

Longevity and sillage are relatively good for a fresher scent. However, one should not compare the longevity/sillage with an oud fragrance or something of that kind, and that should not be done.

Sillage Monster
The scent smells really good. A beautiful rose oud combination. However, you can slightly detect the synthetic notes and perceive a faint plastic nuance, which you can't really complain about given the great price. In the air, the fragrance smells very good and the synthetic aspect is not noticeable. The vanilla and praline make the scent very sweet. So, you should definitely enjoy sweet fragrances.

The scent is definitely unisex; I particularly like it on my wife.

The longevity and sillage are incredibly good. I have rarely encountered a fragrance that is so enveloping and radiates so much. When my wife wears it, a very lovely scent trail lingers behind her all day; the sillage is truly intense.

An incredibly good price/performance ratio; it's no wonder we have two backup bottles!
