Yesterday at Douglas
My cousin wanted to convince me yesterday, while we were waiting for my train to Cologne, that Hannover isn't as bleak and ugly as it seems.
While I was on the lookout for snacks, I came across a Douglas store. Since I recently heard they had added Xerjoff to their selection, I was tempted to venture into the cave of synthetics and mainstream.
Not wanting to annoy my cousin, I stuck to the first shelf, just a meter from the entrance.
No Xerjoff, but I also wanted to check out Beau de Jour.
In general, I noticed a very well-curated selection on this shelf amidst the sweet artificial clouds.
Some Douglas branches surprise you positively and show passion with the means they have.
Unfortunately, Beau de Jour was packaged when I got to the Tom Ford section.
But the Grey Vetiver tester caught my eye.
At first sniff, I only smelled the familiar Douglas scent.
But outside, there was a woody fruity mix.
The typical smoky vetiver lingered in the background.
From the woody fresh notes, the familiar vetiver DNA emerged quickly (in less than 20 minutes).
For me, it's a very nice fragrance, as I love smoky scents.
I don't know if the name influences me, but instead of a green scent profile, I perceive a dry yellow-brown steppe.
Which I really like, as I said!
Have a great day and achieve what you want to achieve :)

So this is what the best compliment getter smells like
In my perfume journey, I quickly moved away from designers and became enthusiastic about the diversity of the niche world. However, since I also wanted to smell the "educational" fragrances with POWER and STRENGTH, but didn't want to pay too much even for a sample, I ended up here. The scent smells quite nice, but even if Aventus smells better than its clone, I wouldn't see the point in paying over €200 for a durability that is described as worse.
I will skip the ladies' reactions!

My first "luxury scent"
As I am still at the beginning of my fragrance journey, I wanted to smell a high-quality scent to train my nose. Since I don't know what real oud smells like and the fragrance will surely change in my perception (I've only worn it once), the fragrance description will be relatively clumsy. Even the 5ml came at a price. But after some consideration, here comes the first spray. I found it very interesting how a picture immediately formed in my mind. My thought was: "Hmm. So this is 300€. The scent must be the woods." And an image of a brown wooden surface in daylight solidified in my mind and stayed there the whole day I perceived the fragrance. I had never experienced that before. Was it the mysterious rosewood and the oud that I was experiencing for the first time in my life? Or was it that this scent reminded me of nothing my nose had ever encountered? Or both? How was it for your first niche fragrance experiences? Very interesting. By the way, I also noticed that I needed some time to evaluate the scent. I was really confused at first :D
But now I’ll jump ahead to my second thought. In this confusion and effect of Alexandria 2, I tried to evaluate it: "hmmm. Somehow calming. Really wonderful this wood. And mixed with... That must be the lavender. It really blends very well together." Now that I think about it, that was a really beautiful moment. Almost like in a meditation. And throughout the rest of the day, the sillage, despite the mask, acted as a room scent for the social science exam, I was truly enchanted. And speaking of sillage. My little brother said he was suffocating, even though I was already 20 meters away for a few minutes. In the drydown, I hoped for a sospiro erba Pura. Pure but no sweet vanilla, that was really nice. I got vanilla after about 12-14 hours. But only slightly perceptible. I think that was due to the musk in erba Pura.
It was definitely a beautiful experience and I look forward to the next spray. It ends here because my train ride is about to end.
Cheers.

Coffee Gourmand
I find this scent amazing for the price. The opening is very fruity with a good coffee note.
Towards the end, the coffee comes forward in a sweet gourmand direction.
There's nothing to complain about regarding the sillage and longevity at this price.

Fresh Mandarin
I got this scent last summer and wore it then.
The smell of an aquatic mandarin in the heat is truly amazing.
Especially as a teenager, I really celebrate this fragrance.
I’m already looking forward to next summer when everyone is sweating at the beach to wear it. Top scent
