About life with (perfume) addiction, designers, niches and the normal madness. Oh, and of course about the Light Blue intense. :-)
Moin you crazy perfumos.
we start today times differently, my Paefumeview is further down - if you just want a quick opinion on the fragrance, scroll down. ;-)
I think the "career" as a Parfumo started the same for the vast majority. The first perfumes were drugstore perfumes that you got for your birthday - usually in a box with shower gel. Actually, everything smelled good, after all, the drugstore is full of meaningless, short-lived shower gel fragrances. If you ever got something "special," it was Bruno Banani. People who bought at Douglas were snobs - god were we stupid...or smart? Anyway
Eventually, by chance, I came across a YT video talking about perfume. In my case about JPG Ultra Male. But 75€ for a perfume? Well, what the heck...once you can do it quietly...said, done’. Shortly after that, I was hooked. I watched video after video....my wallet got thinner and thinner - my wish list longer and longer. My knowledge of fragrances ever greater. Today, I know no matter how many perfumes I buy, there are never enough. Time goes by and pay attention in one's environment to what fragrances people are wearing. You smile at Bruno Banani wearers...and suddenly start giving tips and recommending fragrances to the people around you. And giving passionate lectures about this and that fragrance. In addition, one exhorts to the correct application.
"You can't put on a pappsweet perfume when it's 20 degrees!!!" "One million in the office? Seriously?"
Time and time again, you earn quizzical looks and the same responses:
"A fragrance for every occasion, every season? You're nuts, one is plenty."
In order not to seem then completely insane, I save myself after such answers the recommendation to get then Dylan Blue, a Chanel AHSEE or another all-rounder if it should be already only one fragrance. Even though I can't understand today how others can go through life with only one fragrance. Again and again I have to tell myself that most people are not at all like me...and like you, dear perfumos. :-)
But there are still many things that even I don't understand in this vast cosmos.
Let's start by ripping off some perfumes. Why do pleasing perfumes often have such a hard time getting away well here? I have the feeling, the more pleasing and compliment-bringing a perfume - the worse it is rated. But let's just take the bulk of the people out there....the "one million in the office wearers". The Bruno Banani gang. All the normal people. 90% of the people just.
What's their motivation for wearing perfume? Right, it's about smelling good! And what do they do that on? Two things!
"How do I like the perfume?"
and more importantly....
"what kind of feedback do I get?"
Because no matter how well a normal person likes a perfume. If 9 people tell him he smells horrible, he will change perfume.
And this is the crux of the matter. Why are perfumes like La viest est belle, One Million, Stronger with you or Scandal so successful? Because they know how to please. They are all compimentemagnets.
Almost no one (except a niche perfumo) will give you a bad review. But what else do all the perfumes I just listed have in common? Right, they all have a rating of sometimes far below 7,0!!!
Rightly? Not at all - because these perfumes do that for which they were made. They flatter, they please, they bring compliments. But why do they come off so badly? I think it's simply because most perfumos don't classify these perfumes properly. If Armani puts out a loud, sweet fragrance that is meant to please and appeal to the masses and just not the "fine noses" - then it should be judged on those criteria as well.
Because the vast majority of people are not keen on extremely smoky, animalic, oudlastige or strictly woody fragrances. Not everyone wants to smell like urine, ashes or sweat. But these are exactly the perfumes - some of which have top ratings here. Do not get me wrong. This also partly absolutely rightly. Because a Nichenhaus is there to create special, exclusive, unique fragrances. They justify their price by saying that they consider their perfumes to be art. And that's fine, too. But that's not what designers do. Therefore, let's take a stand for pleasing mainstream perfumes. The ratings here are not deserved by many. Mainstream is not a bad thing....quite the opposite.... i still prefer to smell my wife wrapped in that incredibly seductive liquid honey that Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier practices in a vulgar way. :-)
I really love all my non-fragrances. But just as much I like to wear times the quite a few designers who do their thing partly really good. Above all a designer - and thus finally to the actual topic - "Dolce&Gabbana LB intense"
So let's get started: :-)
The bottle: 8/10
Simple and elegant. The blue liquid paired with the frosted glass just screams summer. The sprayer is okay.
The prelude: 10/10
The fragrance starts off so brilliantly. The top note is for me, next to the Allure Blanche of Chanel, the most beautiful that the designer segment has to offer in the summer. A green, slightly sweet tangerine, paired with this incredibly citrusy grapefruit...just a dreamy combo that smells incredibly natural.
The drydown: 10/10
After a short while, the scent evolves into a mineral, aquatic, salty accord that is out of this world. The slightly sweet-citrusy prelude moves more and more into the background without ever disappearing completely. The top notes throughout ensure that the scent doesn't take the complete twist into salty. Nevertheless, the maritime notes are the ones that clearly dominate here. Everyone who buys this fragrance should know that. I wouldn't recommend it as a blind buy unless you like mineral scents. For me, however, clearly THE summer fragrance at all and my signature fragrance in high temperatures.
Durability: 9/10
For a fresh summer fragrance, this perfume has a good shelf life. 6 hours I smell him on my skin.
Sillage: 8/10
The first three hours extremely present and smellable at an arm's length. After that, it becomes more and more skin
Wearability: 5/10
Clearly only in the summer. Its full potential it exploits at temperatures above 25 degrees. Then it also goes everywhere, whether date, office or leisure.
Compliments: 7/10
The perfume works. Especially the top note will provide some positive compliments.
Price / Performance: 10/10
I got the 200ml bottle for an incredible 51,00€. This was, however, luck an offer that you find at most once a year. Calculates for 50.00€ with 100ml 200ml one gets but also almost always somewhere for 70.00€ and that is really super for this quality.
Conclusion: I have found my signature summer fragrance. For very high temperatures, this fragrance is just perfect. I appreciate and love the Allure Blanche of Chanel also very much, but if's comes hard on hard, I prefer to reach for this.
So, to all of you who read from beginning to end.......my condolences.....but......you made it...... :-)
In this sense, hanseatic greetings
