The sun slants over the savannah and bathes the landscape in warm light. The hot African wind carries the scent of cardamom, saffron and pepper towards me, mingling with the earthy tang of sun-dried leather goods at the market.

In the distance, the lions lie lazily in the sand, their eyes already half closed, in the shade under the acacia trees.

African Leather is a journey through wild Africa. A grandiose start with spices, leathery with a little oud. Followed by a spicy, sweeter, slightly leathery and dry drydown. The fragrance is never intrusive, not overly loud, but rather simply present and accompanies you throughout the day.

If you are looking for a leather fragrance a la Tom Ford or London, you may not be happy, but otherwise African Leather is a truly masterful fragrance from Memo!

Personal anecdote:
I opened the convection oven today when I had the fragrance on my wrists, among other things. The hot air in combination with the fragrance inspired me to start my review.

Naxos was not only my first Xerjoff, but my first "luxury" fragrance in general (what is luxury, at least it was and is for me). Now that I've reached the depths of the Rabbit Hole, I feel like I can appreciate it in a whole new way! I am therefore dedicating my first review to it.

Hype or not, it's simply beautiful. A masterful symphony of honey, tobacco and tonka. Perfectly balanced with a slightly tangy start and a warm, slightly spicy drydown that feels like it lasts for days.

I wore it to our wedding in spring. 20 degrees, sun, light wind and I am surrounded by a comforting, warming cloud of this wonderful fragrance while I wait for the love of my life.
I will always associate something very special with the fragrance.

For me a 10/10.
