Summer Gourmand
This is a really pretty peaches and cream fragrance. It's light, sweet and perfect for gourmand-lovers to wear in warm weather. The vanilla in used with a deft hand. It's definitely present, adding a bit of spice, but it never becomes cloying. The orange provides a bit of tartness, and the cream brings a realistic lactonic quality which softens the other notes, brings a little richness to the fragrance without making it heavy at all. This fragrance lasts for hours but the projection/sillage could be better.
Malcolm, Intrepid Explorer Penguin
When penguins are grown, they head for the sea, but I learned from a Werner Herzog doc that sometimes, a penguin will head inland, away from the sea. I like to think of this fragrance as the journey of Malcolm, one such sea-avoidant penguin.
It starts out with one of the best ice
accords I have encountered. To me, it really gives the impression of breathing cold air while surrounded by ice. Marvelous. On me, this phase lasts a long time, which is just what I want. The spicy heart notes don't warm it up at all.
I understand why some folks aren't impressed. There is something familiar about this fragrance, but I can't put my finger on exactly what it is- maybe the musk? Or The musk/sandalwood combo? Regardless, it doesn't bother me because of the longevity of the ice accord. When the ice finally fades, the fragrance is nice but a little boring.
Still, I love this! It performs like an extrait, is unisex and will be wonderfully cool this summer. Last year, S IL, with the heat index, was hotter than Death Valley. I'd like Malcolm to take me to icier climes.

A Breath of Arctic Sea
This fragrance is gorgeous, pure, clean and icy cold. Everything is frozen, the wood (I picked up some juniper, I think), the citrus and salt, creating the sensation of the cold North wind and the Arctic Sea. Very atmospheric.
Silver Marble is smooth, never spiky or harsh, nor does it veer into synthetic or mentholated territory. It's a very natural impression of the pleasant sharpness of breathing cold, clean air. It remains very fresh and somewhat aquatic throughout its life span.
This scent is unisex and performs quite well; longevity being over 10 hours, with moderate spillage through most of that period. I just love it!

A Perfect Day in the Country
This starts off with HONEY, like you're Winnie the Pooh with your head stuck in the honey pot levels of honey, but this settles down relatively quickly, as the hay, tobacco and peat smoke make their appearance.
This is a day in the country, jumping into piles of hay, being chased away from beehives, watching my great aunt tap the maples, getting sips of my great-uncle's beer, sweeping line needles off the sidewalk, bonfires.
It's beautiful and homey. Nilsson has really captured something here, IMO, which will have a familiar feeling for many people; people who have or currently live in a rural area or people who like to escape urban environment for the country.
I just love it. It's sweet but unisex. It lasts all day, with strong sillage for the first hour and moderate spillage for the next few hours.

Pistachio Mish-Mash
This starts out so well- fluffy, creamy, pistachio with vanilla and milk. It's light, sweet and lovely. It made me think of old-fashioned ice cream parlors. I really enjoyed this phase of the fragrance. It lasted about 30-45 minutes.
Unfortunately, a very sharp, synthetic cherry note, along with some ill-defined fruity notes came barging into the ice cream parlor. Any rice note was overwhelmed by the fruit. The fruity notes last several hours, and it just seemed like an ill-considered blend, a mish-mash of things that may work together in another context but not here.
The drydown retains some of the fruity character, although it is tamed, but the mish-mash nature of the fragrance remains, the fruit, musk and cinnamon don't smell bad; they just don't really go together with the rest of the fragrance. IMO, this fragrance could have benefitted from some editing.
