Delicate, tranquil, Bali Spa fragrance
Soft, slightly sweet, milky scent of toasted rice with sandalwood oil base. That is a scent of rice powder used in Thailand and on Bali when you order a Spa bath. Another reference - genmaicha tea, a green tea mixed with with toasted rice. The scent is very delicate, I can imagine wearing in to a yoga class, some meditation session, otherwise it is too quiet to compete with scents of the urban environment. Its almost too good for this hectic world. But its a definitely #1 choice if I'm going for a Bali escape.
Technical: too quiet, disappears way to fast, overpriced for its performance. But scent itself is divine.

Sweet Rice
This is a rice fragrance that anyone can enjoy. Its realistic but also sweet, creamy, and woody. Its a "your skin but better" fragrance. So its a gourmand but its not crazy sweet and sticks close to the skin. No one is going to smell this fragrance on you and tell you that you smell like rice, unless they are also into rice fragrances. Its a very comforting and cozy scent for staying in or going about your day. It lasted on my skin for at least 6 hours and the projection wasn't really there but I do think the intention of this scent is to be a skin scent. Its €179 for 50 ml, which seems to be the going rate for that size and quality of fragrance.

Santal Basmati
Santal Basmati is really pretty. It’s warm, soft, cozy, and gently sweet. There’s a rice note in there, for sure. I wouldn’t say it’s as realistic as what I experienced with Fior di Pane, but it’s a beautiful interpretation of a rice scent.

I do want to point out that the initial spray is oddly fruity, almost cherry-like though. I’m wondering if the rice accord was developed with something like an almond note which would explain the similarity to cherry. In addition to that, it’s quite a soft and short-lived scent.

For me, it reminds me quite a bit of Commodity’s Milk+ Bold. That one is more intense with a heavier dose of cashmeran and sweeter as well, but they share a cozy gourmand-meets-wood quality.

just okay
grainy, wheaty basmati rice thats shrouded in lipsticky orrus and powdery sandalwood. I do find the whole scent to be a bit empty? lackluster? just missing some oomph to it. It feels flat I suppose. The notes are there, creamy iris, starchy rice, soft sandalwood, yet they lack depth. I think as a carefree sandalwood this works, but as a serious fragrance I find it falters

Too sweet for my taste
Aaah, I'm so disappointed! When freshly sprayed, this smells like heaven in a bottle: woody, spicy sandalwood and creamy rice. But when it dries down, the sweetness comes and overwhelms everything. I'm so sad, I wanted to love this so bad but it's just too much for my senses. In that sense, I would put it in the same category as Un bois vanille

A warm and gentle, rather linear and creamy/sweet oriental spicy-woody Mid season fragrance, slowly shifting to a musky earthy-woody base.

Lovely soft warm sandalwood with a soft breath of rice. Beautiful & cozy. But $375 US for 100 ml??? Is there unicorn dust in here???

I wish this was sweet
and also much more creamy.
Then I’d make it mine.

Interesting and strange. In a good way, but not really worth the extreme price tag for me. More savory than sweet to my nose.

i really wished for the stronger rice/savory note in this one, but only got a radiation dosage of dirty patchouli:(

Realistic basmati opening that turns a bit too sweet, toasty & synthetic. More popcorn than rice. Mellow sandalwood background.
