Re-released with new notes
The lush website now lists "A blend of zippy ginger, bergamot and Sicilian red mandarin oils...Then come softer floral notes of mimosa absolute and Kenyan geranium oil... Final touches of grounding oakmoss and soothing sandalwood"
Fresh ginger and citrus without being one dimensional thanks to the earthy sandalwood and oakmoss. I made my purchase in summer specifically looking for something to replace BBW's now discontinued White tea and Ginger in my collection and it 100% satisfies that spa-like/refreshing itch.
They only sell it in the largest bottles since it's now part of their black label collection

Weird up close but fine far away
Smells more like burnt sugar than caramel, more raisins than dates. There's some lime but it fights with the other notes and feels discordant. Medicinal saffron and some light cardamom are there but I have to really sniff to find them. My husband said it's giving him craft store vibes, it's giving me child's car seat. It's SUPER similar to Eos vanilla cashmere lotion. I combined them hoping to bring the vanilla and sweetness out a bit more, but together it amplifies the raisin type notes and completely loses the vanilla of either.
It seems like many of solstice scents are meant to be smelled in passing from far away. Just catching bits of it while walking around is nice, putting nose to wrist and sniffing isn't.

Gender neutral take on the color pink
When I smell this, all I can think is "this is what pink smells like" but not in a Barbie, candy sweetness, type of way. Pink fruits, juicy and bright are balanced by earthy greenness. This is fully a spring/ summer daytime scent (but not tropical). I'd love to wear this on like a road trip, or a brunch. It's happy and uplifting. Energizing, when I put this on I feel like I'm going to have a great day
Fresh comforting vanilla without being cloying
This is what I wanted "Philosophy fresh cream warm cashmere" to be. I don't get the synthetic note at all and I'm usually very sensitive to that in vanillas. I sometimes wear this to bed or after a shower lounging around the house. There's almost like an art supplies note? And some coconut which isn't mentioned. Vanilla bean, woody graphite, warm milk, caramelizing sugar. It's like working on an art project with a hot drink and through your window you can smell roasting pralines. Wore this outside after it had just rained and the combo was amazing. Energizing in the morning and soothing at night
