Lost Cherry, Duchessa and Velvet Tonka united
it was supposed to be just a statement...
The first spray - what a juicy cherry! With such cherry scents, I always think of Lost Cherry first. Both have a slightly boozy quality... but then Lost Cherry becomes airier, more floral, lighter.
Mandorle adds a hefty piece of marzipan cake after 15 minutes, the cherry is still super present, but more like a cocktail cherry. Here, the scent reminds me of Duchessa, that delicious treat... yum yum
At some point, the cherry takes a step back and remains as a powdery veil - marzipan-like, tonka bean-like - just like Velvet Tonka.
Yambo writes about animalic notes, which I also perceive, but don’t let that put you off, because I think that adds to the sexy factor of Mandorle. Rosendo Mateu No 5 has a similarly enticing allure. Maybe the same musk?
The scent is sweet, but not to the point of causing headaches.
Quite unisex.

I see the scent more for the cooler seasons or at night for seduction. You definitely smell irresistible ;)

"Excuse me, do you smell this good?"
Milk is often a tricky scent note; many quickly complain about headaches and nausea, and in the mind of Milk Musk, there are even fruits - the dreaded peach!

About the scent itself: For me, the heart note is the entire fragrance. As many have described - this creamy sweet vanilla milk + Ambroxan, which makes the scent significantly more complex and deeper. It is not just a clumsy treat; there is also a slight "sexy factor" involved.

Ambroxan always makes fragrances too masculine, too harsh, salty, aquatic for me. I am generally quite sensitive to overly masculine notes and unfortunately do not wear these scents myself.
With Milk Musk, I initially felt the same way. Perhaps a similarly "masculine" perfume - Pierre Guillaume - Le Musc & La Peau. For most perfume lovers: perfect unisex - for me, unfortunately too masculine - so you can somewhat understand my crazy scent perspective.

Many criticize the longevity and sillage here. In fact, I become nose-blind after 30 minutes; I thought the little milkman had simply disappeared, but I was mistaken. When I went out on a rainy late summer day, my neighbor from the balcony on the first floor called out to me: "Excuse me, do you smell this good?"
Since no one else was visible in the rain - yes, Milk Musk radiates several meters after spraying. It then becomes closer to the skin, but the musk - this enchanting creamy musk à la NR - I can still perceive on my skin even the next day. The scent clings to clothing until the next wash.

A quick note about the fruits - I don't really perceive them, but they do round everything off.
However, my husband smells peach - apparently even very prominently. When I wanted to hear his opinion on the scent, he said: "Nice, smells fruity, like peach...?" At that point, I had been wearing it for a few hours - and still smelling the top note? Crazy.

Unfortunately, my bottle has been empty since yesterday... but it's not out of the question that I will get a second bottle of Milk Musk.

Archive Collection Favorite
Oh wow, there's not much to read about Bois yet... actually, I'm more of a fan of short statements when I can only evaluate a fragrance through a small sample, but I know how helpful a review can be when you're still considering how to categorize the scent....

I got the Archive Collection Discovery Kit from Commodity and first curiously tested all of them on the included paper strips... the white testers all smell a bit fresher and lighter overall, while the black samples have a bit more punch and are somehow more masculine. Unfortunately, I wasn't immediately convinced by any of them... my husband immediately grabbed Wool - I think it smells like a masculine designer fragrance, nice, but not for me.

With Bois, it was different... it is one of the black testers and still feminine enough for me. Don't get me wrong, it is unisex, but the other black samples (Leather, Whiskey, Vetiver...) are just too masculine for my personal taste.
The test on my skin had to happen.
I already like the top note - indefinably sweet green and I briefly get the pepper. No trace of wood yet.
After an hour, it becomes a bit more lovely and powdery, closer to the skin, the spiciness is now gone. Delicately - somehow Black Tie comes to mind - I don't want to say they smell similar, but they share that delicate powdery sweetness, that fragility. At this point, I can also perceive the woodiness in Bois. A delicate creamy-warm little wood. By that time, it has unfortunately already become a skin scent, which, surprisingly - I wouldn't have thought - lasts a good 8 hours.
I would find it wearable in almost any season and occasion, as it is sweet, woody, and powdery, but not a sticky, loud beast.
Will I get a bottle? A clear no.
But is it the best for me from the set?
Yes, but I already have a few very similar scents that I like much better.
For anyone still unsure - Commodity unfortunately only offers it as a 100 ml bottle, but maybe you'll discover a completely different favorite in the Discovery Kit?

The Muse - Blanche - Sun Bleached
I discovered a review just yesterday where a perfume compares three very similar scents, and I must say, it was extremely helpful for me since I was familiar with one of the fragrances and could easily imagine how the other two would smell.

There are days when I just want to feel clean and fresh and don’t want to push a huge cloud of fragrance in front of me. There are also occasions when noticeable scents are inappropriate, but I still don’t want to forgo perfume… one could of course opt for a molecule scent or the “your skin but better” fragrances, but today I’m focusing on fresh laundry scents.

I’ll start with Blanche by Byredo, as it was the first to hit the market. It is so airy light and simple. It reminds me of the warm scent cloud that envelops you when you enter a dry cleaner, especially if someone is ironing a men’s shirt in the background. I don’t find the smell piercing or chemical, just pure and light. It quickly becomes close to the skin, but I can perceive it for half a day.

The Muse by Zarkoperfume is a bit louder and more synthetic. To me, it smells like Persil laundry detergent when you sniff directly from the pack of powder beads. It has significantly more power, and after I’ve sprayed it on, both the entire apartment and my children (after I’ve carried them around) smell of The Muse. I perceive the oud as slightly woody or as a musk enhancer, but by no means dirty. When my husband came home, he immediately asked if I had done a big clean today, it smells so clean - so if unexpected guests drop by - haha

Lastly, we have Sun Bleached by Une Nuit Nomade. It also has that clean laundry scent, but it is the coziest of the three. It becomes creamier and slightly sweeter by the minute. This laundry is truly not chemically cleaned but dried in the summer sun on the line. I also like to reach for it when it’s over 30 degrees, as it develops particularly beautifully in the heat. It somehow smells like vacation. It could be the creaminess that has a hint of subtle sunscreen and also something of the scent that skin gets in the sun. Unfortunately, Sun Bleached dissipates the fastest on me, and I have to reapply it more often.

So the gentlest is Sun Bleached, Blanche is in the middle, and The Muse is the clean beast mode scent.
These clean scents are generally gender-neutral, but I can confirm from my surroundings that men enjoy the scents or at least don’t find them disturbing… but it’s the women who use them as perfume ;)

I hope I can help one or the other with their purchasing decision… Black Friday is approaching….
