The more feminine Moss
Clean, spicy, woody. Quite sweet and floral too, dry down is nice but longevity isn't amazing. I do love a good woody fragrance though. Most of commodity's line I find very agreeable. Its a more feminine version of Moss, or at least in a similar vein. I ted to like frags with a pink pepper hit in the top notes. I also think that orchid might be my favourite floral note...

Archive Collection Favorite
Oh wow, there's not much to read about Bois yet... actually, I'm more of a fan of short statements when I can only evaluate a fragrance through a small sample, but I know how helpful a review can be when you're still considering how to categorize the scent....

I got the Archive Collection Discovery Kit from Commodity and first curiously tested all of them on the included paper strips... the white testers all smell a bit fresher and lighter overall, while the black samples have a bit more punch and are somehow more masculine. Unfortunately, I wasn't immediately convinced by any of them... my husband immediately grabbed Wool - I think it smells like a masculine designer fragrance, nice, but not for me.

With Bois, it was different... it is one of the black testers and still feminine enough for me. Don't get me wrong, it is unisex, but the other black samples (Leather, Whiskey, Vetiver...) are just too masculine for my personal taste.
The test on my skin had to happen.
I already like the top note - indefinably sweet green and I briefly get the pepper. No trace of wood yet.
After an hour, it becomes a bit more lovely and powdery, closer to the skin, the spiciness is now gone. Delicately - somehow Black Tie comes to mind - I don't want to say they smell similar, but they share that delicate powdery sweetness, that fragility. At this point, I can also perceive the woodiness in Bois. A delicate creamy-warm little wood. By that time, it has unfortunately already become a skin scent, which, surprisingly - I wouldn't have thought - lasts a good 8 hours.
I would find it wearable in almost any season and occasion, as it is sweet, woody, and powdery, but not a sticky, loud beast.
Will I get a bottle? A clear no.
But is it the best for me from the set?
Yes, but I already have a few very similar scents that I like much better.
For anyone still unsure - Commodity unfortunately only offers it as a 100 ml bottle, but maybe you'll discover a completely different favorite in the Discovery Kit?

Smells like a grandmother. Sort of powdery, sort of sophisticated, but much too mature for my taste. Not unpleasant, however.

I would have smelled something fruity... if it's wood, then dry... it's too masculine for me.

Bois = "wood"? It smells more fruity-spicy to me, a bit creamy, a little like play dough?! Hard to describe...
