A comforting Oaty/Almond/Vanilla

I was lucky to be sent a free sample back in March and have been eagerly awaiting the release date to receive my preordered bottle. Finally it arrived today. I love Une Nuit Nomad. It’s always a mini adventure opening the packaging they clearly put soo much attention to detail and thought into. This is currently my favourite perfume in my entire collection. It was an instant love for me, and one that will be on my “scents for life” list!

Chemin D’amande opens with a very realistic crushed almond scent, a little bitter and a little sweet. I get the almond blossom as it dries down and the scent becomes sweeter and creamier. The vanilla and woody notes then join in, followed by a delicious oat like vibe. This is a soft, cozy and comforting embrace on a cold, dreary day. It lifts my mood and makes me smile when I wear it. It’s part of their Extrait collection, and I find the sillage and longevity both very good. Im obsessed with this scent and the scent bubble this creates around me. Perfectly unisex and well suited to spring, autumn or winter. It’s also light enough to be worn any time of the day. 10/10

If you like scents like Sulmona Essenza Confetto or Harvest Mouse, I think you’d enjoy this. This is what I personally wanted from Harvest Mouse, although I’ve also since layered these together. Definitely worth checking this one out if you enjoy sweet almond/oat/vanilla or even hay fragrances.

Sea of almond clouds

Almonds upon almonds. A whole bag of them, so to speak. That would be a fitting short description of Chemin d'Amande and yes, I know you want to know more. I'll do my best, I promise.

Let's start with the name. The literal translation is Mandelweg and the name says it all. At Chemin d'Amande, you get almonds in any form of almond flour, which is the aforementioned cereal note at the beginning. Then chopped almonds and finally, thanks to the vanilla, delicious macarons.

In my opinion, my nose only gets a slight amaretto vibe here, and only at the beginning. Later on, I can only smell the aforementioned macarons. In addition, you get a delicious almond scent with a really good longevity of 8 to 10 hours. For me, it's the perfect fall fragrance, but it always makes me crave sweets. But I can live with that.

Finally, I would like to emphasize the beautiful bottle. In a heavy and very solid quality. The color is a deep dark blue that looks almost black. It also has gold trim (not glued on) and Art Deco-style lettering. This perfume is a real eye-catcher on any perfume shelf.

Standing in my kitchen...

... and I'm blanching the almonds to get the skin off. Then I dry them and put them in the blender to chop them up. The almonds come from my garden. The wheat flour is sieved. I put all the ingredients in the bowl and stir in the vanilla, put it in the mold and put it in the oven. When it's ready and I take it out of the oven, it releases its full aroma.

When you apply this fragrance, the first thing you notice is almonds, which are not sweet but spread their full aroma. Then come earthy smoky woody warm notes that give the fragrance a warm gourmand twist. The vanilla makes this perfume really delicious.

The longevity and silage are good.

Here we have a definite unisex fragrance that can be worn well from the age of 25 and upwards. This is a nice scent for colder and cold days on warm ones I can't really imagine, although because it's not sweet it's worth a try on warm days. During the day it looks just as good in a suit or costume as it does in jeans with a shirt or blouse. In the evening, it's perfect for the opera, theater, dinner, a club or a party.

If you like a non-sweet fragrance with almonds and vanilla that is a little woody and smoky and earthy, you should take a look at this one.
