The "On the ball tusker"
I wrote a statement about the fragrance the day before yesterday, based on my memories of the fragrance from 5 years ago. Back then, I wore
Rumz Al Rasasi 9325 pour Lui for a whole summer and found it a great all-rounder. Perfect for sports, perfect for university/work, doesn't get on anyone's nerves and smells good. But that was it. At the time of the
Aventus hype, I had of course also bought several batches of it and thought the
Rumz Al Rasasi 9325 pour Lui was a cheap alternative, but never found that it came so close to the original.
That was my statement a few days ago. I just sprayed it on one hand today and have to say that I have to take back everything I thought I knew about the fragrance. As soon as I sprayed it on, I thought to myself, isn't that
Aventus ???? But a really strong masculine Aventus that inspires you, just like when Jeremy Fragrance chased through the city center of Cologne with Aventus! I applied a 2018 batch of the "OG" directly to the other hand for comparison and what can I say
The
Rumz Al Rasasi 9325 pour Lui just really hits the spot! Of course, it doesn't have the sophistication of the Aventus, and it also lacks a certain sweetness that the Aventus still has thanks to the pineapple. But honestly: for me, the Rasasi wins against the great original!
It's edgier and simpler, of course. You mainly only notice apple and wood, accompanied by a lot of smoke. But it is constant over several hours and always present.
While the Aventus gets a little twist over time and slowly changes from fresh to woody, the Rasasi simply hits you with a full pack of apple and smoke.
So for what it's supposed to be, this really is a blatant price/performance bomb and lasts significantly longer than a weak 2018 batch of Aventus.
I still have a really fine 2016 batch of Aventus in my possession, which I haven't used for years either, maybe I'll compare it extensively with the Rasasi.
In the end, I can only say that if someone is still looking for a good alternative to
Aventus, this is a really good choice. Objectively speaking, years after the big hype, it is incomprehensible to me why I paid so little attention to
Rumz Al Rasasi 9325 pour Lui at the time.
But perhaps he has simply matured extremely well in that time

The first great love never fades
Oud Wood was actually - probably like many here - my introduction to perfumes and perhaps also a little to the sneezier fragrances, with a very mainstream taste that I still have today. This fragrance also drew my attention to Parfumo almost 5 years ago. "Back then" (the old hands here in the forum should please forgive me) I was still in my early 20s when I searched through Jeremy Fragrance videos, read all the reviews here and tested the fragrance several times in retail stores. At that time, almost 130€ for 30ml was still unthinkable for a perfume, but it didn't let me go. It took me almost a year to finally buy the fragrance. I was immediately in love and still am today. I think enough has already been written here about the fragrance itself and in my opinion the hype is still completely justified. Anyone who, like me, really got into the perfume world with the mainstream Tom Fords can certainly agree with me that the flacon designs were iconic and fascinating for the period from 2018-2020 (as I said, old Parfumo hands here may forgive me for my view of things;)
I quickly found my way around the forum and after buying my first 30ml of Oud Wood in the store, things really took off. From souk to souk, from review to review, from dupe to dupe, everything was absorbed. Today, I have several hundred ml of Oud Wood alone sitting around, which (hopefully will last for years to come &) I have gradually collected like a madman. Even if you're not on Parfumo for months and sometimes lose interest in perfumes for a while, you always end up back here and in my case I always end up back at Oud Wood. I hardly ever wear the fragrance now, but I often take it out and sniff it a little, as if to remind me of my old love. Maybe most of the readers here don't understand what this review is supposed to be, but I think a certain number of them will be able to relate to what it was like to buy the first fake Tom Ford and put on the fragrance that accompanied you through part of your youth and into adulthood.
