Let me age it a bit...
This is already my second bottle of CDNI-Man, the first was a blind buy.
Back then, like so many others here, I was overwhelmed by the synthetic lemon and was initially a bit disappointed.
However, after trying it several times, I realized that I really like the scent after the synthetic top note fades.
So I decided to wear the fragrance now, and lo and behold, I received a lot of compliments, which I really didn't expect.

Months went by, and I noticed that the synthetic top note had diminished and became fruitier. I thought I must have gotten used to the synthetic note; after all, one becomes desensitized.
Eventually, the bottle was empty, and a few weeks later, I ordered a refill around August/22. The batch of the new bottle was from January/22.
I sprayed the first spray, and again a dominant synthetic note, not as bad as with the first bottle but once again disappointing.
I thought, reformulation, what a shame! I hadn't yet thought of the idea that the bottle needs to age.
I used the CDNI a few times and then set it aside, tried it again in December, and I must say the synthetic note has indeed faded again.
My suspicion as to why the first bottle smelled more synthetic at first is probably because that batch was younger than the batch of the second bottle.

The CDNI is a price-performance killer with solid longevity/sillage, and it is so even with the synthetic top note without the "aging" process. The fragrance apparently needs its 10-12 months after bottling; let it age, it will get better.

Rum Barrels on a Pirate Ship
A pipe-smoking pirate with a wooden leg and leathery eye patch on the high seas steers the ship and transports Caribbean rum barrels and spices across the vast ocean.

Peppery incense, soft leather, boozy rum, and woody notes create a scent that almost marks its territory. A very masculine fragrance that suits masculine men; otherwise, you do not wear the fragrance, but the fragrance wears you.

The longevity and sillage are still present after over 8 hours, and the price-performance ratio is simply right; you get niche quality for a small budget, which is almost bordering on piracy. ;)

For me, this fragrance, with its boozy rum note paired with robust spices, is the big bad brother of the sweet vanilla CH-Men Prive, which has a boozy whisky note.

Layton VS Dua's Chariot VS Noir
Layton Vs. Chariot

To summarize Layton briefly:
The creation of this fragrance is a masterpiece and secures a spot on many top ten lists among connoisseurs.
There are plenty of compliments, and for a niche fragrance, it is a crowd-pleaser; this fragrance DNA hits the nail right on the head.
The Layton from PDM is and remains the original with the best scent progression. For those who value the experience of a scent progression, I recommend the original Layton, BUT one must consider something before purchasing.
The longevity and sillage of the fragrance are said to have diminished over the years, and therefore one should at least try the Chariot and the Noir once.

Now to the Chariot:
In my opinion, the fragrance DNA has been captured 95%, yes the scent progression is lacking, but if you get a longevity/sillage of nearly 12 hours for it, that’s a very good deal.
However, one should be careful when spraying on clothes, as the high concentration leaves residues/stains, especially on white clothing.

Now to Detour Noir:
Is that even possible? I asked myself, to acquire the fragrance DNA of a masterpiece for such a price!?
And damn yes!
Here too, the fragrance DNA has been captured 95%. I even have the feeling that they took the Extrait de Parfum version of the Chariot and diluted it to an EDP.
Sure, the scent progression is obviously not like that of Layton, but a longevity/sillage of 8 hours is easily achievable. The Chariot is of course stronger and lasts longer but is also significantly more expensive, and the Layton, as mentioned, has a better scent progression but is even pricier.

Conclusion:
Layton = Original, most expensive, best scent progression, most beautiful bottle, longevity/sillage not what it used to be.

Chariot = Monster, expensive, bombastic longevity/sillage of 12 hours and more, ugly bottle.

Detour Noir = How is this possible?, price-performance winner, very good longevity/sillage for this price, bottle of horrors.

The Pimp Among Fragrances
Pimp, you ask?

Yes, exactly, an elegant pimp in winter!
Imagine a guy who has spent the whole night in the milieu, strutting through the neighborhood in a thick, pompous fur coat. The cloud of scent he leaves behind is an extremely sweet mixture of all the perfumes worn by the numerous ladies he has been with, combined with a touch of powder and lipstick. Beneath it all, you can still faintly detect the Oud scent he sprayed on himself before the long night.

The sillage and longevity for the price are amazing, almost overwhelming; you have to love the fragrance.
I got the scent from a souk, and it was included as a surprise. When it was empty, I started to miss it.
I longed for the fragrance for days and finally ordered it.
The bottle is quite fitting, but personally, I don’t like it when you can’t see the amount of the contents.
