Dear friends of critiques,
today brings a rather negative test result and yes, I dare to say this about this fragrance based on my thorough testing and my clear opinion on both the dupe and the original
La Nuit de L'Homme Eau de Toilette.
For me, this fragrance is indeed significantly stronger in terms of longevity, but it is even more one-dimensional and inconsequential than the already completely overrated original for me.
Let's talk about the scent: I cannot deny the similarity to the original, although this one comes across as much spicier and more multifaceted due to a fruitier bergamot in the opening.
Midnight Rendezvous, on the other hand, simply smells of freshness combined with a very shy spiciness... too shy.
This does not change significantly over time;
L'Homme is, in contrast, a multifaceted and highly complex fragrance (and even that one is too gray, too boring for me).
There isn't much more to say about the scent experience. Take a high-quality fragrance freshener, mix it with a pinch of cardamom for a bit more spice, and out comes "Midnight Rendezvous | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances".
Nothing more happens here. I could just as well generously spray the aforementioned fragrance freshener on my clothes for a few euros and come out cheaper.
I also do not understand the rating in terms of sillage. For me, the scent is distinctly noticeable for about 60 minutes, then only perceptible in a subdued way. This makes the sillage louder than that of an average shower gel scent, but this fragrance is still not strong.
The longevity is noticeable; I perceive the scent on my skin for 10 hours, which is a significant improvement over the original.
The bottle is typically terrible for Dua, but I do like the name "Midnight Rendezvous", even though I understand something different by it, as the rendezvous here takes place at most at noon in the tax office.
Overall, I cannot recommend this fragrance, but I couldn't help but share my opinion with you, as it rarely deviates so strongly from the common opinion.
As always, thank you for reading!
