an autumn romance
Leather 6 is pure fall for me!
The opening is almost explosively bright, with an impression of fruity osmanthus, vanilla/amber, leather and smoke. Like rays of sunshine, colorful leaves, amber colors, a cool breeze that carries burning wood and foliage. It is immediately reminiscent of Babycat, but leather 6 screams more, it is brighter, more extroverted and for me definitely more fruity. Sometimes even a little pungent. But wonderful in the sillage..
On my fall walk, I approach the fireplace, and it is rapidly getting dark and cool. The middle of the perfume reminds me of hot, spiced cider and fall carnival festivities. Slightly boozy and uplifted, it sparks a fast-paced romance that ends with making out on the leathery seat of a car in an outdoor movie theater. The feminine perfume mixes with the masculine cologne and merges with the smell of warm skin and the sweat of lovers on the leather. A rollercoaster of sensations. Butterflies in the stomach. The feeling of invincibility and youthful recklessness...

The luminosity of this perfume reminds me of the experience when clear, cold autumn/winter air brings out and emphasizes certain scents and nuances of perfumes.

It lasts about 6-8 hours on me and has good sillage. You're sure to stand out with it.
Trick'or'treat in a bottle ;)

my Halloween costume
This perfume is truly transportative for me.... at the very first inhale, the images begin to flicker before my inner eye. Dry aromatic sandalwood and dark, full-bodied cocoa take me on a voyage on an old, giant pirate ship, to new horizons and unimaginable adventures. Very soon after the first drier impression, the texture of dulce de leche joins in. It doesn't smell like it directly, but you can taste it, that glossy, thick, smooth, caramel mass. All of this, the dry wood, the dark cocoa and the smooth dulce de leche are carried and diffused by the vanilla-salty ambergris, which glistens and sparkles like golden rod, like spray in the warm light of the setting sun on the high seas. This ambergris takes over the opening after the first impression and foreshadows that the journey also leads to dark, mysterious and dangerous realms. It makes me think directly of "Pirates of the Caribbean", of course. On the one hand because I can imagine that so William Turner smells after he joins the pirates :p on the other hand because Pirates of the Caribbean plays a lot with the passage into the afterlife and the connection of the two worlds.
This balance of the perfume between the worlds is also why I think it fits perfectly with fall and Halloween. It is a time when darkness returns and heralds the end of a circle of life in nature. Describing what Halloween means to me spiritually would be going too far here, but Mxxx. communicates that in a direct, physically experiential way and I love Perfumery for that.
Anyway, about 10-15 min in, it becomes powdery, smoky-vanilla and more elegant. It reminds me here of the vibe of fragrances like Feve Deliciouse by Dior. Still slightly salty and very sexy. Also fits great in the clubbing context - smoke, leather, sweat on sweet skin....
In drydown, he then gets a light lipstick nuance.
A perfect companion for dark, cold, foggy and contemplative autumn nights and intimate moments with depth.
Durability unfortunately not as impressive as the composition (1-2 hours clearly perceptible, then more like a breath). But performance is secondary for me....

Baguette and Bronze Goddess
This little perfume insider tip moved into my home a few days ago. After testing it for the first time in the store, I knew I had to have it, even though I had no idea how much it would enchant me. My first impression was of a very sweet, caramelized vanilla mixed with a kind of cocoa butter, like a gourmand body lotion might smell. A bit plasticky, naive, maybe even cheap. But something still grabbed me. Then came the dry-down, enveloping me in a cloud of freshly baked baguette spread with a vanilla-coconut butter. Not particularly sweet, but wonderfully aromatic, warm and flattering... This cloud stayed with me for several hours and left a faint scent on my arm where I had sprayed it, even after showering.

The next day I went back to the store and bought 30ml. When I arrived at work, I unpacked it and sprayed it all over me... WOW. The jasmine, which I hadn't noticed before, came out strongly in the opening and was quite heavy, indolic and heady. Now it became really interesting for me, because I don't normally like simple, sweet beauties. But since I'm not a fan of white flowers either, I was a little worried... after all, I wasn't thinking of buying a heavy jasmine perfume. But after a few moments, tonka and vanilla take over again and create this wonderful bread aroma, which I particularly notice in the trail, not directly on the skin. Again, I imagine warm steaming white bread being spread with a kind of butter, but this time it's more of a body butter, the self-tanning kind. With a "Bronze Goddess" type scent. This idea hovers over me for about an hour, until finally it all melts into a vanilla caramel. However, I could swear that I can sense some kind of musk in it...

All in all, I'm mega happy to have discovered this little treasure and even happier to have found a rep for Blanche Bete that gives me the same feeling for a fraction of the price and that means my bottlings of BB last longer :P
