Perfect Everyday Fragrance for Little Money
I have been wearing the Turathi on and off for some time now and I am pleasantly surprised every time. Depending on the retailer, you can get the fragrance for €20 to €30, which is more than fair. The quality of the scent is unbeatable for this price category. As is common with inexpensive perfumes from the Arab world, the bottle comes in a very nice solid cardboard box. So you already get quite a bit when unpacking.
The top notes of mandarin and bergamot are simply wonderful. Not a bit alcoholic, very intense, and above all, natural. Whether the ingredients are truly natural or synthetic, I cannot judge, but for me, the citrus notes in this fragrance are on the same level as in "Imagination | Louis Vuitton."
After the top notes, the fragrance takes on a slight sweetness and is rounded off by woody and spicy notes.
Longevity and sillage are also impressive. 6 hours with decent sillage is absolutely no problem. If you are looking for a good summer fragrance and don’t want to spend much money, you can’t go wrong with the Turathi Blue. At this price, I can recommend a blind buy, provided you like citrus scents.

I had a completely different expectation
During my last visit to the LV Store, I was finally able to test City of Stars and took a sample with me. Los Angeles and the associated vibe are actually right up my alley. Therefore, City of Stars had been on my radar for a long time, but unfortunately, it did not meet my taste and missed the mark by a wide margin. In hindsight, I can't even say what I was actually expecting, other than the perfect summer fragrance. For me personally, this scent definitely does not have the summer character I envision.
To me, the fragrance smells quite linear, which may simply be due to my aversion. At first, I don't find City of Stars that bad. As expected from Louis Vuitton, the highest quality raw materials greet you. Very nice and high-quality citrus notes emerge in the first 5 minutes of the opening, with a sweet blood orange in the foreground for me. Lemon and bergamot remain rather subdued and are not dominant.
Once the opening is over, the horror begins for me. Sandalwood, musk, and tiare. In other words: powdery, creamy, and sweetly floral. Just in extremes.
I really don't want to smell this combination at 30 degrees in the shade; the fragrance is far too sweet for me. Yes, the citrus notes are still present, but they are extremely dominated by the powderiness and are only close to the skin.
From here on, not much else happens. The fragrance remains just powdery, creamy, and floral until the bitter end.
Unfortunately, for me, City of Stars is a huge disappointment. The bottle and the feeling that the scent visually radiates unfortunately do not match the content. I would never sell it as unisex. For me, it is a 100% women's fragrance and rather unsuitable for men. Longevity and sillage are rather average.

The Citrusy King
In search of a fragrance for summer, Imagination is currently probably the top choice. The reviews for Imagination promise great things, and accordingly, my anticipation to test this scent was enormous. I can already say: I find the reviews justified. For me, Imagination is currently one of the best fragrances one can acquire. It doesn’t smell extraordinary, but it gets everything right in the citrus-fresh category. It is of extremely high quality, has a nice and surprising twist, and will please most noses.
The scent starts off incredibly fresh and citrusy in the top notes. The raw materials used are so high-quality and fine that one might think they have a freshly cut lemon in front of them. The opening blows me away every time, and I could rave for hours about the fantastic quality of the citrus notes. Once the initial burst of lemon fades, the tea joins in and doesn’t disappear anymore. The balance of lemon and bitter tea is nearly perfect. Later on, as it moves towards the drydown, surprisingly woody and floral notes come into play, which remain very subtle in the background, but for me personally, they round out this fragrance and make it what it is.
The longevity is definitely impressive for a citrus-fresh scent. On me, it lasts easily over 10 hours and on clothing up to 2 days. However, the sillage fades very quickly, so after 5-6 hours, it is only close to the skin.
Visually, the fragrance also makes quite an impression. The bottle is typically LV and has a really beautiful light blue color.
In conclusion, I can say that Imagination is currently the best fragrance from Louis Vuitton, which is perfect for summer. In my opinion, it can certainly be worn on cooler days as well as in winter. Imagination must not be missing from a well-equipped collection!

You can't get past Baccarat Rouge
Since I became active on Parfumo, Baccarat Rouge 540 is a fragrance I constantly see in the forum and it has been on my bucket list for a long time, especially because I prefer strong scents. However, BR divides opinions. Many people hype it, while others hate it and experience headaches from its intensity, perceiving it as medicinal.
Personally, I really like this fragrance. Like many others have already written, I also associate it with cotton candy and strawberries. I can even describe the strawberries more specifically, as it smells exactly like the giant strawberries from Haribo taste. Pure childhood.
It also has almond notes and a woody warmth. Additionally, the scent is slightly floral, but this is not constantly present; it comes to the fore now and then.
Just from the scent alone, Baccarat Rouge 540 is one of the best perfumes I have ever smelled. It evokes a soothing feeling in me, and that alone is reason enough for me to wear this fragrance. But it has another ace up its sleeve, as it has incredible performance.
On a Saturday evening, I sprayed once on my wrist and once on my neck and then went to a birthday party. Among smokers, alcohol, and sweat, the perfume was put to the test, but it more than deserves the label Beastmode. The entire following Sunday, I kept noticing this scent. It constantly wafted into my nose and smelled just like it did in the first hour. It became part of my body and surrounded me, yet it was not overwhelming. This fragrance accompanied me for over 20 hours until it disappeared after I showered. An experience I have not had before; what an intense perfume!

I came, I saw, I bought
So or something similar went the purchase of this perfume for me a few days ago when a colleague told me about the sale at Lattafa and showed me the Eternal Oud. At that moment, I didn’t care about the scent at all; the bottle had captivated me. It definitely reminds me of the Portraits series by Penhaligon's, but instead of an animal, the cap of the Eternal Oud is adorned with an old agar tree. For me, the bottle is a 10/10. Not only the appearance but also the feel is incredibly high-quality, and I had to buy this scent just for the shelf.
Unfortunately, the dome did not survive the delivery unscathed, which is very annoying.
But how does the scent smell?
The first minute smells strongly of alcohol, paired with a slight fruitiness. I have never had a perfume with plum before, so I assume that the combination of alcohol and fruit is meant to represent the plum. Grapefruit notes make a brief appearance at the beginning but then completely disappear.
Once the alcohol has evaporated, the Eternal Oud reveals its true self. It becomes pleasantly sweet, creamy, and resinous, while still maintaining a slight fruitiness in the background. Heliotrope and amber clearly take center stage here. You can smell an intense vanilla, a hint of almond, and warm spices. The longer I smell this fragrance, the more I detect chocolate faintly in the background. In the drydown, only the suspected plum disappears; otherwise, the scent remains sweet and resinous.
If you now look at the fragrance pyramid, you will notice that I haven’t mentioned a word about the supposed oud. Although the bottle is adorned with agar trees, from which oud is derived, and the scent is named Eternal Oud, here the search for the oud is at most eternal.
The longevity and sillage are by no means bad; however, I find the ratings a bit too high. You will definitely not disturb anyone with this perfume, nor will you fill a room, but you will be noticed.
