Pastel kitten fur & powdered sugar
Cutie musky ambery skin scent that brings to mind fuzzy kitten fur and powdered sugar. If this scent was a color it would be a pale lilac or baby pink. Synthetic doll head sweetness that I love, I wear this often to bed because it makes me happy, sits very close to the skin, very light. My favorite and only full bottle purchase from the ELDO discovery set, which is a fantastic and varied set especially considering the price, highly recommend.
Dusty & interminably romantic
When my partner and I stay at his parent’s house, we sleep in their attic that has been converted to a bedroom with a large window that faces west. L’air De Rien smells to me exactly like laying in bed in that attic, unshowered, dust particles floating in beams of light streaming in at sunset, smelling his warm skin, his hair, old wooden bookshelves surrounding us. I know this is extremely similar to the brand’s marketing copy for this scent, but it’s remarkably accurate. Such an evocative and intimate and human scent, very romantic, truly a masterpiece in my book.
Minimalist perfection
Papery, translucent, woody, the lightest touch of sweetness, great staying power, a perfect skin scent in my book. Minimalist, clean incredibly chic, consummately unisex. I finished up a 30ml bottle and immediately graduated to the 100ml, it’s an extremely easy reach year-round and one of my most worn irises. For fans of Prada’s Infusion d’Iris seeking something a bit more sheer but equally elegant.
Work of art
A spicy sexy beastly masterpiece. So much warmth and depth, insane longevity, tons of vanilla and spices and lust. It isn’t quite a gourmand but it’s definitely approaching that territory. This one is strictly for the colder months, extremely rich, slightly animalic (but not at all in a scary way). Gorgeous. If you haven’t smelled it I would say this is a must-try from Frederic Malle.
Truly stunning
Realistic warm spicy rooibos tea, sweetness from the tonka bean and the immortelle comes through quite a bit, which I love. Such a go-to in the autumn and winter but can really work any time of year, extremely cozy and comforting and delish, lasts for ages on skin, a work of art in my book. In my top 10 scents for life.
