Just to test what Lattafa has to offer, I ordered Art of Arabia I. The purchase price is temptingly low, which in my opinion is the fragrance's most convincing argument.
It starts off fruity and interesting. The plum is clearly recognizable, and the first leather accords are emerging. Vanilla beckons to me shyly from the back row. So far so good.
H/S is not bad either, especially when I consider the low price. But unfortunately, the fragrance turns negative in the drydown and somehow becomes slightly unpleasant. The stated oud seems strange to me. This is probably where the lower price becomes noticeable. The fragrance is ultimately also too feminine for me.
The bottle and packaging make a high-quality impression, which makes the fragrance a perfect gift for an uncle or aunt 60+ :)

Funnily enough, Layton Exclusif is only in sixth place of my PdM fragrances, although I would say that this is the best PdM fragrance alongside Althaïr and Haltane. Or at least the one that always appeals.
The fresh aquatic notes, together with the spicy woody accords, are immediately present! There is no "I have to unfold first", but a very fiery intensity from the very first moment. An absolutely masculine fragrance that I only get positive feedback on. The longevity is also very good, I can still smell it the next morning.
Maybe that's why I hesitated at first, because I also like to wear something unusual. Whereby the Layton Exclusif is also - exceptionally good :) I am very happy that I have it now!

I have been testing Perseus for almost a week and unfortunately I am not convinced. To be fair, especially as an avowed PdM fan, the fragrance is not bad.
It starts with tart citrusy impressions and doesn't hide the grapefruit :) that doesn't bother at all, even the woody notes that hint at it make you want more, but unfortunately not much happens then. At least on my skin there is almost nothing. Even after 2 hours, I hardly notice it at all, except perhaps a faint mix of bergamot and vetiver.

All in all, a fragrance from the category: you can do it, but you don't have to.

Castley was a blind purchase for me. As I am a big Parfum de Marly fan, it was clear to me that the purchase would not be a disappointment. However, I wasn't necessarily euphoric at first, let's say. The fragrance really needs time to catch you. At this point, big praise to #Ron240 who describes the introductory phase perfectly. Castley is not a fragrance to fall head over heels in love with, but definitely a partnership that works very well for a very long time!
With its fresh, citrusy opening, it immediately gives a feeling of cleanliness. The spicy accords gradually emerge and accompany you, very pleasantly, through an entire office day.
The moment when I realized that this was more than just a partnership of convenience was when I noticed it on my shirt the next day :) Castley has been my summer-everyday companion ever since.

I dived into the Parfum de Marly fragrance world about a year ago and am admittedly a big fan. Herod is not yet part of my collection, but I'm sure it will be soon.

Tested in the store and received as a sample with another purchase, I clearly classify it as an autumnal or winter fragrance.
Cinnamon, vanilla and a hint of incense give a warm and cozy feeling right from the start. The response is good, although not as sensational as, for example, an Oud for Greatness or Ombré Nomade.
(yes, I know that these are completely different fragrances)
Herod may not be the most "special" fragrance, but it's still something special!
