A Fragrance Journey Through Paris and China: The New Eaux de Parfum Grano and Riso From Jijide

A Fragrance Journey Through Paris and China: The New Eaux de Parfum "Grano" and "Riso" From Jijide

In its first participation at Esxence, Jijide presented two new unisex fragrances that continue to expand its path in the niche fragrance sector.

Grano: A stroll through Paris after a rain shower

Just like the magical process from kneading to baking that transforms raw, simple materials into something extraordinarily savory, Lebanese perfumer Nour Akoum has created a pyramid that starts with a fresh, moist character, moves to a subtle sweetness and then explodes into a rich, buttery, irresistible finish.

Wheat plays an important role in the culinary history of Italy and Europe. The perfumer Nour Akoum was inspired by the seductive scent of fresh croissants and imagined a scene: a walk through the city after a spring rain, far away from the hustle and bustle.

"Grano" begins with a sparkling green top note of bergamot, grass, mint and lemon and then develops into a sensual heart note with nuances of earth, dough and vetiver, gently surrounded by chords of white flowers. The base, characterized by the aroma of freshly baked bread and gourmand notes, adds a sweet dimension, accompanied by the warm, woody presence of sandalwood.

Riso: Experience everyday life in China

Riso is a true feast for the senses, sweet and savory, rich and complex, but at the same time very harmonious. With this fragrance, Chinese perfumer Zimo Luo wanted to avoid the stereotypes that Western noses usually associate with oriental fragrances and instead create an authentic link between East and West;

When creating "Riso" the perfumer Zimo Luo was inspired by the "7 daily necessities" of Chinese life: Rice, wood, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar and tea. The perfume is an invitation to experience normal Chinese everyday life. It captures the hustle and bustle of the streets on a public holiday, accompanied by a kumquat snack in hand and steaming, fragrant babao rice drifting through the alleyways.

The composition opens with tangy kumquat, green petitgrain and spicy-hot Szechuan pepper. The sweet fruitiness of Chinese jujube and the delicate floral notes of chrysanthemum and michelia unfold in the center. These combine with nuances of kidney beans and the subtle scent of rice. The composition is rounded off with warm guaiac wood, Haitian vetiver, salty soy sauce and the gentle sweetness of cinnamon cassia.

Jijide: The connection between two worlds

The fusion of Chinese and Italian culture may be a cultural clash for some, but for the label it is a source of inspiration. Behind the founding of Jijide lies a story of intercultural friendship: the niche label was founded in 2016 by an association of Chinese and Italian entrepreneurs.

The brand name 'Jijide' is derived from the Chinese term 积极的 (jī jí de), which stands for a positive and energetic attitude towards life

The new fragrances are available in flacon sizes of 50 ml.
