An absolute disaster...
I'm sorry, but I'm over fifty years old and I've been testing, buying, and using perfumes for more than 25 years, and this one just doesn't cut it...
I've only seen rave reviews about this perfume on YouTube, and I took the bait...
The opening is a mess. There are no crisp citrus notes or anything like that. It’s a jumble of molecules, with a “very synthetic feel.” There might be some citrus, but it’s all already heavily mixed with something stinky that reminds me a lot of ambroxan.
It’s not fresh at all, unlike, for example, the excellent opening of “Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée” (just to give an example).
As it dries down, it doesn’t change much. It sweetens up a bit and a nutty note takes center stage. I'm not going to lie, at this point, it's nice, but that's about it.
Totally unisex, if not more feminine. Let’s see, a man smelling of almonds or hazelnuts... I’m not so sure about that. :)
I’m really sorry, but I just can’t stand Guerlain. Everything they’re doing these days seems like garbage to me. Starting with the acclaimed “Habit Rouge Parfum,” another sickly sweet bomb that’s even more feminine than this one...
And I say this with regret because the vintage version of Heritage is one of the greatest masterpieces of perfumery of all time, but what they’re selling now under that name is enough to make you cry.
