Between Volcano and Ocean: "Weona" by Spiritica
The Italian label Spiritica is expanding its "Illuminata Collection" with the aquatic-fruity unisex fragrance "Weona," inspired by the landscape of Patagonia and the coast of Chiloé.
WEONA acts like a glacial yet magnetic flow—a primal feminine presence between ice and fire. A luminous unisex composition that moves between ocean and volcano, between legend and skin.

The composition opens with fruity facets of pineapple, grapefruit, blueberry, and maqui berry, accompanied by the maritime freshness of a salty sea breeze and maritime pine. Pineapple remains present in the heart, combining with the slightly tart calafate berry. An ice accord adds a cool note, while lavender and sequoia leaf provide aromatic green accents. The heart is rounded off by a mineral lava accord that transitions to the base. Here, warm notes of ambergris, musk, white musk, sandalwood, and cypress emerge, while a starfish note brings the maritime character to a close.
The composition was created in collaboration between perfumer Arturetto Landi and Daniele Muratori Caputo, founder of Spiritica.

Fire and water: The inspiration behind "Weona"
"Weona" draws its inspiration from the rugged nature of southern Chile, more specifically from the region around Punta Chana on the island of Chiloé. The fragrance concept is based on a natural event that took place in the 19th century, when a lava flow from the Michinmahuida volcano reached the Pacific Ocean. The encounter between red-hot lava and cold sea water serves as the central motif of the composition.
The mythology of Chiloé also flows into the fragrance concept: according to legend, the legendary Pincoya, a sea goddess and protector of the waters, dances on the waves. She embodies the abundance—or scarcity—of fish and seafood, depending on whether she turns toward the sea or the land as she dances. "Weona" interprets this legend olfactorily—between icy cold and radiant warmth.
The handmade clasp echoes the motif of inspiration: lava flowing into the sea. A photoluminescent effect also ensures that the clasp glows in the dark.
In the 19th century, a massive lava flow from volcanic activity reached the ocean, creating one of the most impressive natural spectacles: glowing lava flowing into the ice-cold sea, releasing steam and creating new rock formations. A moment of transformation in which fire and water meet. WEONA draws its inspiration from this primal encounter.

A new chapter in the "Illuminata Collection"
The fragrance is part of the Illuminata Collection. Each composition in this range refers to a place in the world that is associated with a formative personal experience for the founder. The geographical coordinates of this place are also indicated on the packaging of the fragrances.
The collection includes the perfume "Atmayatra", which refers to the Himalayan region near the sources of the Ganges. Its composition combines aromatic notes such as basil, mint, and cardamom with incense, benzoin, and earthy accords.
Also part of the series is "Suscepto," inspired by a coastal landscape on the Aegean Sea. Here, maritime and ozone notes combine with mint, eucalyptus, and citrus nuances, complemented by incense, rose, and warm wood and honey accords.
The new Extrait de Parfum is available in a 50 ml bottle and can be pre-ordered. Shipping is expected to begin at the end of May.
