This is what my summer smells like
Oceania is the perfect fair-weather fragrance for me & I was delighted to wake it up from hibernation with the rising temperatures. My mood improves immediately when I smell it.

Pleasant fresh citrus, a bit of herbaceous coastal vegetation & a nice niveacrem base (in the best sense, not meant negatively at this point). Oceania is a freshie suitable for 30 degrees and yet elegant and high-quality - so you can be seen in a summer linen suit for a fine occasion as well as lying on the beach in swimming trunks. The bottle is super beautiful, the Oceania "plaque" is one of the prettiest in the lineup for me. However, the fact that Roja is increasingly rationalizing away the details such as the writing on the side and the Roja signature on the cap is somewhat questionable given the price range. That leads me to the elephant in the room.

The price, even if Oceania is a "cheap" Roja, is absolutely crazy. 395 euros for 100ml is not worth it for all the love in the world - anyone who pays full price must have a really big wallet. Longevity and sillage are ok for this kind of perfume, but the high price does not lead to a magical performance miracle. Incidentally, I didn't even notice Oceania for a while last year, I seem to go scent-blind with it very quickly.

But this summery Roja is definitely worth a test, it's fun!

A defining moment
1567 days ago today I bought a sample / bottling of this fragrance here on Parfumo and since the first spray & smell nothing is as it was before.

Before my encounter with Alexandria 2 I didn't really know any niche fragrances, growing up & studying in a small-town environment meant that I never really had access to perfumes outside of the norm. So when I sprayed this Xerjoff masterpiece on my wrist for the first time to test it, a whole new world opened up for me.

This opulence, this power and yet so much elegance and sensitivity. Foreign yet accessible, a whole new olfactory experience. So perfume can be like this? Wow. I certainly couldn't identify individual fragrance notes back then and even today, Alexandria 2 is honestly one of those round fragrances that I simply perceive as a densely interwoven overall composition, completely detached from pyramids and notes.

Back to the story: in the same year, I took the absolutely reckless step for my student bank account and bought a bottle. The beauty and feel of the latter definitely provided another wow moment. For some time, I really took every opportunity (primarily in the evenings) to wear it, the smell and the reaction of my fellow human beings fascinated me immensely. To be honest, I rarely reach for Alexandria 2 nowadays, as I find it too loud on most days with its oriental heaviness, but I still look at the bottle on my shelf with fondness.

Sometimes I just smell it in the evening, spraying is not even necessary, and remember how this precious liquid opened up the world of niche fragrances to me & started a passion that I no longer want to do without. Great thing!

The juiciest pine needle
I had heard good things, was looking for a woody scent anyway & the price was great - so for once I was tempted to make a blind purchase with this fragrance. Spoiler: I have not regretted it!

Ormonde Man has a wonderful opening full of juicy, green pine needles. The rest of the fragrance is perhaps not quite as "wow" as this opening moment, but it is still really good: a beautifully crafted, woody-fresh all-rounder for men, modern and suitable for everyday use. I think there is good signature potential here if the direction picks you up!

Incidentally, the fragrance never smells 1 to 1 like a forest, but always like a perfume with a certain degree of abstraction, but it certainly makes you think of it. For me primarily something for fall and winter, H/S just right. Definitely worth a test!

For the whole family
Salam by Anfas is one of those rare hits for me; a fragrance composition where everything is just right. A light fruitiness & freshness at the beginning, subtly spicy oriental, a little sweet and a 100% cozy feel-good factor.

My mother discovered this masterpiece when we were in a perfumery in Vienna a few years ago. We were both immediately impressed and she bought the fragrance, I bought Naxos at the time (undoubtedly a much worse purchase). Over the next few months, Salam became my mother's signature fragrance and, in addition to the actual scent, I came to associate it with a feeling of security and warmth. When I was visiting, I often helped myself to her bottle and I quickly realized that I needed it too.

When this first bottle ran out, Salam was unfortunately sold out everywhere and we were left high and dry - but as soon as the remaining stock arrived in the stores, we both went for it. Our enthusiasm hasn't waned a bit since then.

An absolutely wonderful perfume, suitable for every season and time of day, undoubtedly unisex, extremely pleasant and yet not a bit boring. Longevity & sillage could perhaps be a little more, but on the other hand this certain polite restraint suits the fragrance very well. 10/10.

A golden cloud of well-being - 10/10
If I could only keep one fragrance, it would be this one. Sahara by Widian is flawless for me, an absolute masterpiece, a feel-good oasis in a bottle.

Whatever the occasion, whatever the outfit, whatever the time of day or season - it always manages to strike just the right olfactory note. In the freezing cold with a cashmere sweater and thick coat, Sahara provides warmth and comfort; at 35 degrees in a linen shirt, it is like the most beautiful, luxurious dream of hot desert air and is never too much or distracting.

I am now halfway through my second bottle and my enthusiasm has not waned one bit over time. In my experience, reactions from other people are remarkably positive, the feel-good factor seems to be there for others too!

Longevity and sillage are fantastic without ever being annoying, the bottle and packaging are beautiful. At 250 euros for 50ml, it's not cheap, but I was happy to pay every penny the second time around. And I strongly suspect it will be the same with the third bottle!
