Drowned on the way to Cuba
I'm a bit sparse with reviews, but since this is a sort of flanker to my favorite fragrance "Habana 500 | Renier Perfumes", I had to make another effort because I wanted to compare the two. So this review probably only makes sense if you know the other one.

So of course my expectations are very high, but unfortunately they weren't met.

The fragrances are somehow similar, I get the same associations (Kaiserschmarrn in an old cast-iron pan with roasted plums, slightly fruity and creamy) as with the 500, but unfortunately everything is too attenuated for me to feel any enthusiasm. Somehow everything seems as if your nose is almost closed and you only get half of the scent.

The opening - terrible! The first 5-10 minutes smell like eagle owl glue to me, but fortunately that fades quite quickly. After that, the scent is okay, but can't keep up with Habana 500. If I wear one fragrance on my left arm and the other on my right arm, the Havana Rain simply disappears and I could have saved myself the sprays. The durability is not even the problem, yesterday after about 9 hours, I could still smell the fragrance, even if only very slightly.

What I am happy about is that the honey is not too intense ("Bee | Zoologist") for my taste, you have to like that. Here, I only notice the honey in the drydown and only very slightly.

Habana 500 evokes a fragrance memory in me that simply makes the fragrance special for me. I don't know if Havana Rain would have done the same if I didn't know the 500. Maybe that's why I'm being unfair to the fragrance, but I can't really remain objective here either.

As I have worn the fragrance again and again over the last few days, I would say that the fragrance is by no means bad, but unfortunately no more. If I had bought a bottle instead of just one, I would keep it (so that the 500 wouldn't run out too quickly), but I would definitely still buy the 500 for special moments. And if I run out of the 500 and haven't found an alternative by then, I would probably buy the Havana Rain, just to be able to reminisce once again...but unfortunately with a tear in my eye.

If I were to attempt a rating, I would give the Havana Rain a 7, whereas the Habana 500 was a 10. But I also think that both fragrances won't suit everyone's taste, so it's better to try them out first.
