The pure, white queen
Gres’ Cabochard, Balmain’s Jolie Madame and Clinique’s Aromatics Elixir come to mind when spraying this marvellous scent. I love the purity of all of them - to some a bit harsh, chalky and synthetic but to me clean and pure. I bet I could wear three days’ clothes and still feel I just came out of the shower.
In one way or another, I just seem to find this one better than the others. I checked the notes and see that there are differences but it does not actually explain my preference. Anyway, I have all four fragrances so I do not need to worry.
My mum used to wear Jolie Madame, and I remember that when she did I found that she smelled of flowers. Later I found out that it was the Gardenia note that I could smell. In Azurée it is the same. Apart from the aldehydes and the leather I get a rather strong Gardenia note. Just lovely! The dry-down is even better. Patchouli and leather for several hours. So warm and cozy.
Bernard Chant did a great job with this one. Magnificent sillage and longevity - a scent you want to go on and on…

Strange fruit hanging…
I got this among a ten scents’ buy. When I got around to trying it I was puzzled. Intrigued. And a bit shocked. Amazed as well, because I kept thinking: who on earth would come up with such a scent?! No offense, but this is not a crowd pleaser in any way. Strange - yes. Harsh - yes. Attitude - yes. But definitely not for everyone.
I like gin and I like roses, but not in this cocktail. On my skin it becomes a truly sour smell that grabs all the attention. I am sure that this was not Margot Elena’s intention. It is just the way it reacts on my skin. I get none of the four notes mentioned - just this sourness that makes me wish I had not sprayed it. Sillage and longevity is luckily poor.
I envy the people who actually like or maybe even love this scent. Personally, I was happy to give it away.

Lovely unisex musk
I am NOT a fan of musk. It is a note that can ruin a fragrance for me, like Burberry Weekend and Cacharel’s Noa. They both make me feel sweaty and unclean. But sometimes I am lucky and the scent contains just the right amount of the note. As it is the case with Bosque.
What a lovely scent! So well composed and delicate. The narcissus, the musk and the saffron work so well together. This is now on my top ten unisex scents.
I will rate the sillage of this as poor to avarage. This is a descreet and intimate scent, and you can wear it for work, at the cinema and all public places. No one can be offended by this wonderful, soft fragrance. But the longevity: wauw! It just keeps sending out these lovely notes.
The fact that this is a unisex scent makes so much sense. This is an everybody’s fragrance.
The bottle goes well with the smell. Minimalistic expression and douce colour.
In an irrational moment I would probably buy this fragrance, eventhough I have enough perfumes already to last at least three lifetimes - but that is how good this one is. The price on this, however, will keep me from doing it.

Feminine fragrance?
Sometimes the look of the bottle and its contents can send different signals. I have experienced this several times. I have had this decant for some time and today was the day to try it out.
To my nose this is a unisex fragrance leaning to the masculine side. Juniper berry and Frankincense are both strong from the beginning and I am not a huge fan of these. After an hour it becomes more smooth and quiet, loosing its sharpness and growing into a more flowery scent, especially the frangipani note stepping up. Luckily, this gets better with the hours but it never becomes good, imho.
The sillage is above average, longevity is around 4-5 hours.
The bottle is really beautiful; romantic with a 19th century feeling. Kudos to Luigi Bormioli for doing such a great job. However, this is not a fragrance I shall revisit for a long time.

Wonderful and sweet
This was a decant I got a long time ago so it has been waiting patiently in my box of surprises & disappointments. This is definitely in the former group.
First sniff: La vie est belle. So much that I had to check up on the notes. In common are Iris, orange blossom, praliné and patchouli and I think the praliné note takes the lead here. Really marvellous.
The fragrance is a beautiful trip into a sweet and deep universe of especially base notes. I get whiffs of praliné, amber and patchouli almost from the start. And this is a looooooooong journey - more than 8 hours. Well done, Bath & Body Works
