the better and fresher HE WOOD?
Hi zam!

I have almost all fragrances of HE WOOD here, because I "fully descend" on this fragrance!
I find these fragrances extremely special and simply different from the others.
No matter whether someone says it reminds him of the cheapest plywood or of the American pine forest - there is definitely a certain basic seasoning of some wood absolutely present. As a former half trained carpenter I am also of the opinion that it does not smell exactly like wood - but it goes damn in this direction! Hard to describe!

For me, however, it's also pretty aquatic or oceanic (see also the fragrance pyramid).
Because it reminds me very much of a perfume that I once had: Zanzibar for Him! THAT was my new fragrance at that time; but unfortunately not very durable (and also hard to get)...
And Zanzibar is just like the bar on Sylt in/at the sea. Maybe it's just because of this that I associate something woody-aquatic? But as described here on the pages that it is sweet: ...um... - wrong! Certainly there's a certain sweetness in it, but it's rather woody-aquatic. My opinion!!

But now to the above fragrance:
It could become my new favorite (along with many other favorites; a general problem of local members I think, he he)!!
Yes, the other HE WOOD are more pronounced, have a stronger sillage and excellent durability - but are also a bit "too much of a good thing" because of this. Since they (I can't describe the feeling or the impression correctly - I'll just call it that) come across very "dust-dry", i.e. somehow standing on the spot without changing in any way, they can sometimes get on your nerves.

But this one has a general freshness in it; something is different and therefore better for me. The scent also changes over time: sometimes it's woody, sometimes it's fresh. And that's exactly what makes this fragrance!
It is more pleasing, more lively and "easier" to wear.
The durability is certainly somewhat(!) shorter, but I still give him 90% of the other HE WOOD fragrances. So no big drama, no reason to worry!
I'm not quite sure anymore if the name Cologne has anything to do with the mixing ratio here - maybe they called it so only because of the freshness?

Tip:
Let it work!! In the beginning it smells very much like hay (which is also somehow woody); as an old hay fever sufferer I thought at the beginning: "no, that won't work with us!"
It's not flowery for me, except hay is equated with the scent of flowers? Furthermore I hate flower scents, which are m.M.n. rather something for our ladies.
But this hay smells somehow nevertheless very good (there is again the sweetness with it).
And after approx. 1/2 to 1 hour it is for me an extraordinarily great smell...
Give him a chance if you want something else!

VG from the once again very sunny south

The caraway belongs in the base !!
Dear Parfumos!
Please excuse me, but here comes a comment that almost represents a copy of my comment on BOSS Bottled.
But in turn:
I had the scent already more often, because I like it very much - but only at the beginning!
It is a very very fresh scent (without aquatics), which immediately goes into your nose! The Sillage is top and also the durability is very good! Oh STOP!! Me Schussel! That was so BEFORE the reformulation - the one in the blue bottle...
I have to rate the above...
All right! Here again a tip from me: Use up quickly!!
I had a total of 3 vials (I still have one). And with everyone the same happened: it tilted very fast (and I don't mean "toppling over" here)!
The first one I thought to myself: okay - maybe wrong!? Thereupon the 2nd bottle fetched and also here: after approx. 6 months "tilted". I gave myself one more try and stored everything perfectly. But even then after 6 - 9 months: another "tilting"!!!
What's going on?
I have a suspicion: it's caraway here too!!
After some time (of storage - not of wearing) the caraway smell gets stronger and stronger, so that you can't use the scent anymore - at least I can't! The caraway becomes so penetrating and brutal that the rest is completely covered.
And for this reason he doesn't come into my house anymore - unfortunately!
Apparently caraway in a perfume is really only relatively short "durable"!?
Too bad actually...

Watch out!
I used to have the scent more often, because I like it quite well.
It's a very pleasant fragrance that doesn't bother anyone (except every second person wears it, which is quite within the realm of possibility...) and that doesn't have anything particularly prominent or pungent about it.
However, in my opinion, caution is called for! Therefore a tip from me: Use up fast!!

I have a suspicion: even if it is not mentioned anywhere; I think there is also caraway with it!
I think you can smell it pretty strong too.

Because the same thing happens to me again and again with New West from ARAMIS.
And there's caraway in there...

OHA! ........aha!?
I love the Dark Rebel, and that's why I thought to myself: "I didn't do anything wrong with the ratings - so let's go: blind buy!"
Think! Meanwhile - after many false blind purchases - I notice that the comments do not necessarily always go with my opinion d'accord...
Well, it's your own fault! ^^

It says, "The scent is aquatic-fresh."
Hmm, really? Aqva from BULGARI - that's aquatically fresh! But not that one!??
Okay - the first impression after spraying is r e l a t i v fresh. But this is reflected relatively quickly. And: it wasn't aquatic at all!
But it becomes completely different after about 1 hour until the end (about 6h): I thought long and hard about what it reminds me of (as already mentioned, I'm unfortunately not the "smeller" of all ingredients; but I'm better at comparisons - I think at least): 1881pour Homme by NINO CERRUTI!!
Yes! And what does that say? "The scent is fresh and woody."
Jaha - that's more like it!
Or?

I used to like him quite a bit. Actually, that was the office fragrance par excellence. But now he's too old-fashioned for me! Unfortunately!

Well - I'm curious about THE reactions!
;-)

I can't make up my mind!
Encre Noire is one of the most difficult fragrances for me so far!
Not that I don't like him or that he's bad.
It is certainly an extraordinary fragrance - but here we are already talking about: Is it really a fragrance or "only" a smell?

It really smells all very dark and dark and heavy. But unfortunately the smell remains the same for me after about 5 minutes - but actually for many hours. So the durability is really extreme - even if quite close to the skin, I think. However, I can't even say exactly what he smells of - but yes: it reminds me of old church, swamp and pencil.
And after the many hours mentioned above it can be really annoying if nothing happens and it just - I call it that way - a "dull" smell on the skin (although bobbling here is probably exactly the right term: association to swamp / pond / old water).

Let me put it this way: if a little freshness would appear here once in a while (even if it would probably have absolutely nothing to do here, since it is simply not this fragrance direction), which would then "transport" the fragrance away from the skin, the fragrance would have a much greater chance for me (because a certain sweetness is sometimes also recognizable).
Maybe a little menthol or eucalyptus in addition or something in the direction...?
Maybe try with layers...?
Oh, I don't know!
For this reason - since neither very good nor bad - I give an average 5!

sunny greetings from Lower Bavaria
Shari
