Summer is just around the corner and I am looking for THE summer scent again. I have tried many now and like to present a small series of them. The beginning is Sun:

I became aware of Sun last summer. When I watched several times how people of both sexes enthusiastically got a bottle of Sun and went to the cash register with it in childlike joy, the reason was enough for me to take a closer look at the scent.

Sun is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and in the meantime has become a success. Hardly anyone who hasn't smelled him before. The fragrance starts with a cloud of sweet flowers and spices spicy warm and heavy. Citrus notes I can't smell, more resinous and Ylang Ylang. This heavy spice loses itself and it then becomes creamy sweet and also milder. So after one hour it is then very soft and reminiscent of warm skin in the sun. The scent doesn't change anymore, but it lasts an enormous 10 hours on the skin - great!

With Sun, Jil Sander has succeeded in making the big litter. With innumerable flanks one tried unsuccessfully to tie up to Sun-Sun remains unrivaled.

You can like Sun, of course you don't have to, but you make a statement with it. He's as cult as Mickey Mouse, Sunny Crocket and the Ray Ban sunglasses. It has been part of summer for 30 years like tomato mozzarella, hugo and grilled sausage. Can you like it or not? But it is also cult and somehow belongs to the summer. So to speak stored in the collective summer memory.
Unfortunately, it belongs to the fragrances that are often brutally overdosed. With it its beautiful charisma is destroyed and it threatens nausea...

This is the first time I've bought a bottle of Sun. I also like tomato mozzarella and hugo. There is better but what the heck, somehow belongs to the summer feeling. For me, the heavy sweet scent is more for the evening. During the day in the office he would be too luxuriant for me and a little bit too sensual. But privately, for going out and at the beach bar he is also suitable for a small budget and simply makes mood- Don't let the Sun go down...

I like almost all Narciso Rodriguez scents and this one here is one of my favorites:

The fulminate flowery-soapy start is reminiscent of the almond blossom in the Palatinate or Mallorca. This perfect fresh pink flower dream in the midst of a bright blue sky in spring. When the first warm rays of the sun tickle your nose and you can drink a glass of white wine in the midst of this blossoming splendour...

Later, it becomes calmer and when musk, amber, sandalwood and patchouli unfold, a wonderfully well-groomed and warm spicy Duftaura emerges which lasts very long and yet is not intrusive. The rose remains present for a long time. For Her is very pleasant, flowery woody with a certain erotic factor but remains reserved. This is why it is a perfect "office fragrance" because it doesn't look old-fashioned or madam-like, but young, fresh and modern. The musk is wonderfully balanced and never seems intrusive, but very well-groomed and elegant. Sprayed on the skin, the scent molecules unfold again in showers and a gentle spicy floral breeze is drawn into the nose, which I think is wonderful. The quality is really very good.

For Her EdP is neither girlish à la Chloé, nor the great diva like La vie est belle, but would rather suit Audrey Hepurn in Breakfast at Tiffany.

Conclusion: For Her EdP is a beautiful fragrance for all those who are looking for a chic business fragrance. It is just as suitable for meetings as it is for team meetings or customer meetings. It lasts a long time and conveys a very pleasant and well-groomed scent.

In my childhood in the 70's our laundry consisted mainly of pure cotton and linen.
As soon as the temperatures in spring allowed it, this laundry was carried to the laundry meadow after washing and hung up there. For us children always a wonderful place to play between the laundry. The fresh laundry blew around us with its fragrance and the world was fine.

This freshly washed and then dried laundry was later "mangled" by my mother and a help in the laundry room as my mother called it. I.e. the laundry was sprayed with water and then let through the finisher. Depending on the size of the laundry, this was best done in pairs. During this work the steam of the warm damp laundry created the typical smell of freshly washed laundry/cotton that remained in the laundry for days: In the fresh, then cuddly ironed bed linen that you slipped into after bathing, in the clean towels that hung in the bathroom and in the clean laundry that my mother put in the closet for us. A world full of security and warmth.

Warm Cotton catches exactly this smell: This smell of fresh clean laundry in spring, this smell of carefree childhood and birdsong in the garden. Warm Cotton is citric fresh with salty maritime notes that give the impression of fresh air or even a fresh sea breeze. Orange blossom, verbena and musk further enhance this clean, fresh impression. Warm Cotton is a fairly powerful long-lasting scent. I think a single spray is enough to get that fresh impression on the laundry. Two sprayers are already too much for me.

I won Warm Cotton in last summer's competition on Parfumo. Thanks again for that! I wouldn't have bought it if I had. But in the meantime, I like him very much. It's the perfect scent to spray on your T-shirt before jogging and then be blown around by this fresh feeling while running. Unfortunately, modern high-tech sports fibres no longer smell like cotton. Surprisingly I have already been asked what I use for a fabric softener, I would smell so wonderfully fresh ...

...Hildergard Knef sang in 1968 and created a catchy tune that we often heard as children. My mother loved and still loves Chansons.

Every woman has a romantic in her home, and since the rose is associated with so many romantic ideas, it is no wonder that rose fragrances are among the most popular in the perfume industry. Unfortunately, many rose fragrances have something old-fashioned musty about them or remind rather of withered than living roses and are therefore often associated with older ladies.

With Fleur Musk, Narciso Rodrigez has succeeded in creating a rose fragrance that is fresh, modern, clear and floral at the same time. The first smell makes you feel like you're standing in a rose garden. So clear and so intense as if you were standing in the middle of it.
The most intense notes for me are red roses, peonies, red pepper and white musk. The fragrance is a playful dance between washy clean musk and floral notes.
The pink pepper adds a little spiciness and freshness and prevents the fragrance from becoming too serious, amber and patchouli provide depth and warmth.
Fleur Musk is a fresh and cheerful very young and modern fragrance. The purity gives him a certain reticent sex appeal. The ingredients are, as always, first class whatever you smell. Fleur Musk has a very noble Duftaura.

It has an enormous sillage for a flower fragrance and should therefore be dosed sparingly. Despite its delicacy, it can easily last eight hours and is still perceptible on laundry days later. Like all Rodrigez fragrances, it is very intense, so I find it most beautiful in winter. But it is wearable all year round.

Conclusion: Those who like rose fragrances will find Fleur Musk to be one of the most beautiful on the market today. Fleur Musk is fresh, cheerful, very feminine and yet serious enough for the office. It conveys the feeling of having been creamed with a precious cream. The bottle is like all Rodrigez bottles in Bauhaus style here in pink made of heavy coloured glass. A real collector's item.

With its unmistakable check pattern and legendary trench coat, Burberry represents the British understatement like no other company: restrained, cool, functional and tradition-conscious. That the rather boring trench coat can also be extremely sexy shows us already in the 60's of the last century Audrey Hepurn in Frühstück bei Tiffany: Enchanting how Holly Golightly at the end in the soaked trench coat finally stands to her feelings. Today Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wears the expensive piece on bare skin and lolls on a soft surface.

The fragrance fits well with the style of the house: it is clear with a cool fresh absinthe note at the beginning, then gradually becoming more floral, softer and warmer. The fine heart note of roses, iris and sandalwood is already very feminine. Although Body possesses an amazing durability and also over a remarkable Sillage it is not superficially sweet and clumsy what comes probably by the Absinthe. One is therefore inclined to spray generously, but this makes it obtrusive and bitter. With economical dosage Body is wonderfully suitable as a companion in the office on cool autumn days. After a fresh start it is creamy, velvety and tender. Peach, rose and soft cashmere wood together with vanilla and sandalwood make this fragrance an extremely feminine fragrance. The wormwood gives it a slightly tart note that extends into the heart note and gives Body this incredibly distinguished aura. At the same time it surrounds the wearer with a feeling of freshly washed skin. Especially on laundry this fine noble scent is still perceptible after days.

Conclusion: Body is a noble companion for women who are looking for an individual fine fragrance with a bitter note. I like him better than Nomad. With its unobtrusive yet perceptible aura, it is also ideal for formal and more serious occasions. The bottle is a beautiful piece of jewellery in the bathroom. However, it is too unwieldy for on the way. But there is Body as sweet mini for the handbag...
