Short Cherry... it's tipsy too
The TF Lost Cherry is now a well-known and legendary fragrance... Nevertheless, it has a big problem.

The scent is very sweet. You immediately perceive a very sweet cherry... almost more of a Maraschino cherry. Slightly synthetic, but not negatively... more like cherry juice.
Then there’s a very light amaretto that gives the fragrance a certain tipsiness... that must be the bitter almond with the cherry liqueur.

Overall, the fragrance is really great... delicious, gourmand, and a nice fun unisex scent with a feminine touch. I really enjoy smelling it on a woman, but I can also wear it myself.
It’s not a fragrance for big occasions or lavish moments... more of a fun scent for a day off or a city stroll. In my opinion, it works all year round.

Unfortunately, the fun lasts only a very short time. The Lost Cherry actually disappears after just a few hours and quickly settles into a skin-close base. On my skin, it unfortunately lasts only 3-5 hours, which is really frustrating given the very high price.

The look of the bottle with the nail polish-red liquid is of course great, but with the longevity, I really struggle to buy a bottle, even though I like the basic idea of the fragrance.

However, you should definitely test it... and if you’re looking for a good alternative, I can actually recommend something:

Raw Cherry by Aaron Terence Hughes.

Similar basic idea, just much more natural, stronger, and lasts forever! :)

When is a man a man?
My first encounter with this Tom Ford was somewhat unpleasant... a few years ago, I was in a well-known perfume store in Hanover testing various scents, including some Tom Ford. The salesperson had just sprayed his new insider tip from Trussardi on me (generously... that's another story :D), when he pulled out the Tobacco Oud and sprayed it on the other side. Meanwhile, it was just over 30 degrees outside.

So, for the first few meters through the city, I was a walking sillage of the fresh leather from Trussardi and the heavy, smoky darkness of Tobacco Oud.
As both scents settled, I had already fallen in love with the Trussardi, but what was that on my left arm? Terrible!
Moldy, smoky, heavy and cold, sharp tobacco sweetness, and then something leathery and sticky.... I was glad when I could cover it up with a jacket in the evening.

A few years later, I had traveled further with my taste in fragrances and tested many different scents. During a brief Tom Ford phase at the beginning of the year, I was testing various samples from the legendary years when Tom Ford was still releasing brilliant fragrances. So I stumbled upon Tobacco Oud again and thought to myself... oh, what the heck.

Now finally to the scent:

The samples from the souk arrived, and eventually, it was time for Tobacco Oud. I sprayed it on and... what was that? The scent was suddenly completely different. Still dark, but it had something totally alluring. Animalic, darkness, very masculine... I had to keep smelling it and was in love. A 10ml sample followed, and then quickly a full bottle.

At first, Tobacco Oud hits you with a hefty dose of tobacco along with a slightly smoky/sweaty note. It is actually quite similar to Dior Tobacolor. The tobacco is fresh and slightly sweet.

After a while, a certain smokiness comes into play. However, it is not "campfire-like" or typical incense, no, it is something different, giving the scent a wonderful depth.
Almost simultaneously, the oud sets in, which (thankfully) comes across as genuine in this TF.

The smoke becomes stronger and now leans more towards a delicate incense direction, while a peppery spiciness rises that then transitions into a resinous quality.

The whole thing is grounded by earthy patchouli, which then combines with a sweet woodiness in the dry down.

The longevity is really great, especially for a Tom Ford. The sillage is very strong, and depending on the occasion, one might want to be less generous with the application.

In fact, it is perfect for early autumn until the beginning of spring. Even in the office, I haven't had any negative experiences with it, as the scent is not a typical stinker, but rather a dark, mystical tobacco scent with smoke.

I am very happy that I gave it another chance... what would I have missed if I hadn't ordered that one sample after all...

The scent is wonderful... slightly animalic, slightly smoky, earthy, dark, and enveloped in sweet tobacco and oud. It is one of the great TFs and definitely worth a test.

We probably shouldn't expect something like this from Tom Ford anymore, but everything has its time.

In any case, I am now spraying this wonderful scent on again and look forward to being able to do so several more times in the future.

Thank you for reading :)

The cow makes caramel instead of milk...
What is a caramel candy doing in a cow shed...?

Kemi has been included in the Xerjoff range through the core acquisition of the entire "Kemi" brand and now comes in the stylish, oriental-inspired bottle of the Kemi Blue line. Before the acquisition, Kemi was part of the Xerjoff group but operated independently and had its own bottles. In comparing the "old" Kemi with the new one, I could actually find no differences. Fortunately, the same scent remains.

Allegedly, all Kemi fragrances have stayed the same, with only a few points positively adjusted. I can confirm this for Kemi - Kemi at first.

Kemi starts with a hefty load of oud. And I mean really strong cow shed oud, which initially comes with quite a strong animalic note.
After a while, the animalic aspect subsides and is, in my opinion, only medium-strong. At the same time, a stronger caramel sweetness develops on the skin.

After a few hours, Kemi truly unfolds... the barn-like oud remains, but the animalic note is dialed down a bit. Now, a creamy caramel candy comes to the forefront and blends with the barn oud.

The sillage is very powerful, but on my skin, it only becomes really strong after about 7 hours. It radiates well and envelops you in a sweet-caramel cloud, underpinned with creamy oud.

Kemi - Kemi is absolutely unique, wonderfully crafted, and definitely very high quality.
But is it worth buying? That probably depends...

It is indeed very special, and one must be able and willing to wear such strong oriental scents.

I’m actually not sure when and where I would wear this fragrance... Nevertheless, I keep catching myself bringing my hand to my nose to smell it again and again. And that happens over and over. It is incredibly intriguing, radiates warmth, and it’s fun to observe how it changes over the hours.
Every time you catch the sillage through a movement or a gust of wind, I fall in love. The longevity is, of course, top-notch.

Definitely test it if you like oud fragrances and oriental bombshells. However, I can understand if someone does not like Kemi at all.

Towards the very end in the dry down, it reminds me a bit of woodruff with vanilla... very interesting.

I think I will get a bottle. Maybe with another 25-30ml in it and just wear it for myself! :)

The longevity is, of course, top-notch. The fragrance definitely belongs in winter.

Definitely test it if you’re into oud fragrances and oriental powerhouses. But I can understand if someone does not like the Kemi at all.

A Cup of Golden Dallah, Please
The Golden Dallah is part of the Coffee Break series by Xerjoff and is the most popular representative of it. Rightly so, in my opinion.

The Golden Dallah comes in typical Xerjoff style in a purple leather case with a beautiful bottle.

Freshly sprayed, the fragrance immediately shows what it can do:

Oriental spices hit you in the face, accompanied by a lot of cardamom and a hint of Arabic coffee. It feels somewhat like a much higher quality and niche version of V&R Spicebomb Extreme, but goes much further and has no fruity freshness whatsoever.

Once the fragrance settles a bit, the strong spice note recedes slightly and makes way for the rose. This expands, making the scent voluminous and giving it a certain warmth. In the background, however, the Golden Dallah has something that has not quite come to the forefront yet, but soon will. I’m referring to the frankincense. This gradually joins in and adds another depth to the fragrance.

Throughout its development, the Golden Dallah remains slightly sweet and opulent due to the light rose in the background, but continuously pushes spicy notes forward. There’s cardamom, nutmeg, and a bit of frankincense.

The Golden Dallah is not a round, comforting scent; it has edges and corners and challenges you to understand it. Simply beautiful.

It fits perfectly into autumn and can certainly still be worn in winter. It is definitely oriental and may seem a bit overwhelming to untrained noses, but if you give it a chance, the likelihood of falling for it is high.

The longevity is very good. Especially on clothing, it lasts for days with noticeable sillage.
So far, I have only received positive feedback on it, but one should be very careful with the dosage. Two to four sprays are actually completely sufficient here.

I simply think it’s great and look forward to it every time autumn arrives and I can bring it out again. For me, it is the epitome of an oriental spicy fragrance with a touch of coffee.

Definitely test it and fall in love! :)
