Dolce Vita - With a mojito in your hand on the Amalfi Coast
The fragrance starts with a beautiful mint in combination with lime juice and a subtle sweetness
Now and then a fresh grapefruit flashes up. White flowers combine with sweet tea.

After a while, the grapefruit dominates and the mint fades into the background. The fragrance then has a cooling effect and becomes slightly dry.

The rose is only very subtle and sweet in the background. In contrast to the other notes, this one is slightly synthetic.

The fragrance has no noticeable progression once the individual notes have settled on the skin or the fragrance strip. However, this is not absolutely necessary for a summer fragrance and therefore absolutely not a problem :)

Unfortunately, I see the durability of the fragrance as a negative... this is unfortunately a real shortcoming. But unfortunately also a common feature of fresh fragrances.
Only a few fragrances of this type last very long, such as Torino21 by Xerjoff.

Despite its relatively short shelf life, Pomelo Sorrento is one of the best summer fragrances ever. It really unfolds at high temperatures and refreshes in a very special way.

Perfect for short trips or going out on a summer evening. Or always take a sample with you to re-spray :).

If you get a good price, it's definitely worth it.

Can we stop following the hype?
Xerjoff is a great fragrance house and I love (almost) all of their creations.
The Erba Pura unfortunately belongs to the "almost" category.

It comes without a case, but with more affordable packaging.
It is part of the Velvet Collection and therefore comes in a velvet bottle. At first glance, it looks quite nice, but the velvet can peel off with use and become greasy. As far as I know, Erba Pura will also be released in a lacquered bottle in the future.

Erba Pura starts with a load of synthetic fruits. You can't really smell anything. Maybe peach? Maybe tropical fruits? Sweet orange? I don't know. Then there is an extreme sweetness that really reminds me of a fruit cocktail.
The fragrance is also very powdery. It has something oppressive about it and is pretty much the opposite of subtle.

For me, the fragrance is boring. It has no twist, no unique selling point, no special note. It is sweet and shrill and will therefore certainly appeal to many in the younger generation who also prefer fragrances of this type in the designer sector.

The fragrance itself is probably the epitome of beast fashion. The fragrance fills rooms, it is loud and flashy and everyone will notice that you are wearing it.
It lasts forever and has extreme sillage.
Whether you want all that with this fragrance is questionable, however...

I myself steer clear of Erba Pura... it's nothing for me.

Tu sei speciale mio amato Marzocco
Roberto Ugolini's Marzocco is one of the house's most popular fragrances, and rightly so.

The fragrance comes with a great story, and RU's marketing is generally very successful. A Schumacher from Florence who lends his name to create perfume in the spirit of the Italian dolce vita in Florence is a really great story. Then there are the beautiful bottles, which are simply eye-catching with their leather labels and horn caps and are reminiscent of the theme of "high-quality shoes".
Then there is the name of the fragrances, which are always inspired by Florence. 17 and 4 Rosso are the old and new addresses of the manufactory and Marzocco is the famous lion that watches over the city. The violet color of the bottle is also the city color of Florence. Incidentally, the fragrance was developed by and with Herbert Stricker.

But enough about all the trappings... now to the fragrance itself:

All marketing is useless if the content is not right... but fortunately this is not the case here.
The Marzocco starts off wonderfully sweet and fresh. Mandarin is supported by other citrus fruits, but remains smooth and does not turn into a pungent freshness. There is already a certain mildness to the fragrance here. The whole is embedded in a delicate floral note.
I really like the orange blossom... as with Orange Flamingo, it gives the fragrance a sophisticated undertone without becoming feminine or disturbing the freshness.
The combination of these aromas can actually be remotely reminiscent of the smell of ice candy. But of course much higher quality and more sophisticated.

The fragrance is perfect for spring and also for summer up to 25 degrees. And interestingly, it can even score points in winter thanks to its vanilla sweetness.

This composition is simply addictive... this delicate freshness with the beautiful florality and vanilla sweetness makes the fragrance a great overall package. The fragrance also reminds me of something from my youth... but I still can't say exactly what it might be...

The longevity is really okay for a fresh fragrance. Lasts me through the working day and in winter on clothes certainly the whole day.
The sillage depends on the dosage, but is really okay. It is simply great as an uncomplicated daily fragrance.

It is a nice round and pleasant fragrance. Not a beastmode fragrance or a shocker... on the contrary. It fits in everywhere, never stands out negatively but I am happy every time I smell it again.

...that's also the theme: the fragrance makes me happy.

Rarely has a flacon entered my heart as quickly as the Marzocco.

A new hope
In the meantime, after a few years of my fragrance journey, I've become a little wary of designer scents... i've been disappointed too often and too often a big brand has put a big name on a cheap chemical concoction to cash in big time.

But they do exist... great designer fragrances, where perfumers create a great scent from the given materials with the appropriate time and dedication in a relatively inexpensive setting.

One of these discoveries is Givenchy. Alongside the equally good Boisé, Réserve Privée is a prime example of a great fragrance for little money.

Similar to Dior Homme, the main focus here is on iris. This comes through very clearly. This can have slight "carrot-like" tendencies in some moments, but this is normal with strong iris.

I only perceive the whisky note as a subtle alcoholic sweetness and in combination with the chestnut, it often reminds me of roasted almonds/ chestnuts from the Christmas market.

For me, it is a great fragrance for fall and winter and has a respectable longevity and sillage

For me personally, it is even a tad better than the Dior Homme and will certainly find its way into my collection one day.

You may like to get lost in the niche, but every now and then there is still a little designer gem.

I think we could have one here... give it a try :)

Aaron has found the Lost Cherry
Here we have Aaron's answer to the very well-known Lost Cherry by TF.
In stark contrast to the original, however, Aaron takes a different approach to the idea and makes the fragrance a lot better for me.

The fragrance starts with a very great and authentic ripe cherry. While the scent of TF is more reminiscent of a synthetic maraschino cherry or a sweet cherry juice, the Raw Cherry is much less shrill and rather darker and more restrained... more authentic.

The alcoholic note in Lost Cherry in combination with the bitter almond always made me think of Amaretto. In this fragrance, it's more of a pleasantly sweet cherry liqueur that soon blends with chocolate. A modern and very high-quality Mon Cheri, so to speak?

You can't really smell the oud or the rose, but what is striking is that this fragrance is much more niche than Lost Cherry and also has a more masculine feel. Compared to LC, the fragrance is much darker and more authentic and at the same time sweet and mouth-watering.

At the very bottom, there it is, the Amaretto :D But here, too, it is more restrained and totally pleasant.

The fragrance is strong, but without being overpowering. It is more grown-up than Lost Cherry and can therefore also be worn on occasions or at work. It is simply "uplifted".

The longevity of this fragrance is typically ATH etxrem good.

The new bottle with the Swarovski stones is a real eye-catcher and the sprayer... you simply have to test it. Few things come close.

I like it very much and have often been on the verge of buying the fragrance... but I'm just not the type for cherry fragrances at the moment. So as an alternative, I went for the Baraonda from Nasomatto.

But if you like cherry scents, you should definitely try this great fragrance! :)
