the softer Gris Charnel
I got an official sample during my purchase at the Amouage shop.
Now, I consciously chose this sample to test the relatively wide range of Amouage fragrances, as I have discovered a passion for this fragrance house.
This one is "Meander." Well, there isn't much to say about it. I find it very linear and somewhat monotonous. In the opening, I get a piercing and synthetic note that doesn't make the fragrance look good at first; then the scent develops fig-like like Gris Charnel, although there is no fig in it. I don't pick up the carrot at all; instead, there's a decent portion of pepper that comes across very softly with the iris root and cypriol, and is warmed by incense on the skin, just like Gris Charnel but here distinctly softer. That's about it.
The rating is justified at 7.6. The longevity and sillage are very weak in true Amouage style, I would say 3-5 hours. The price of €365 is not justified and overpriced. Unfortunately, Amouage did not convince me with this fragrance. From the Odyssey line, I personally recommend the Search. Therefore, Meander will not be joining my collection, and I would recommend anyone else to get a sample, but if someone wants a softer Gris Charnel, this is the right choice; it has very strong associations with BDK GC.
Unfortunately, my overall rating is 7.5/10.

The Best Gourmand
the name says it all “Grand Soir - the great night”.
I bought this fragrance in 2022, and it has strong longevity.
The most beautiful gourmand next to Ambre Nuit by Dior that exists on the market. The scent is quite linear but incredibly well balanced and harmonized by the master Francis Kurkdjian, so the development settles perfectly on my skin.
The fragrance had its hype on Tik Tok, and I usually don’t like to engage with that and don’t follow certain trends, but when it is justified, I also give it my respect. I love this one and have taken it to my heart. For what occasion do I see GS? I would classify it more for the colder seasons, but not exclusively winter. More like spring - autumn - winter.
The vanilla is very soft but present and projects in the background. The truly enveloping and special warmth that this fragrance provides is the interplay of tonka bean and lavender, along with the vanilla that glides in the background. Mega
I have several fragrances in my collection now, but I would buy this one again and again. An absolute 10/10. This is worth a blind buy. Depending on the batch, I would look for an older one, as according to statements from the IRFA (International Fragrance Association), fragrances will change in 2026 and will not project as strongly as before, and this applies to both designer and niche. Unfortunately, this has already come into effect. The batch of my colleague (purchased December 2025) is much weaker than my batch from 2022.
Nevertheless, a wonderful fragrance and a clear recommendation to buy.

Love on Detours
Anyone looking for a typical summer scent should not be misled by the name here. When you read Beach Hut, you might think that a beach visit with cocktails and a fruit basket is guaranteed, but that's not the case.
It took me several tries before it finally hit me. I tested it at Breuninger in 2024 and didn't take it seriously at first because the woody notes confused me a bit. But the mint is very nice and is dry in the opening, subtly lingering throughout. It also gives me slight H24 vibes. Very masculine and in a fougère style, it's exactly my thing. Old school but more relevant than ever.
The green freshness paired with the woody note is consistently present; the sillage and longevity of my batch from 2021 are very strong, lasting 8-10 hours on the skin. The new batch is, in my opinion, also similar and doesn't differ from the old batch. Amouage doesn't cut corners...
I'm currently testing it in winter and will provide further feedback on it. The woody notes make this fragrance a hybrid and almost suitable for every season.

where have you been all this time?
the fragrance has its hype and it is justified. Simple scent notes but wonderfully balanced. The family business has focused on a few but perfectly combinable fragrance notes and they implement this majestically.
The opening starts fruity gourmand and becomes sweet but pleasant even though many say it gets too sweet. But I find it perfect and the longevity is phenomenal but that is typical for PR fragrances. The sillage is top and eventually it becomes soft and creamy, simply mega for summer.
This is now my second PR and it won't be the last. The only phenomenon I don't understand are the bottles and the spray head. The fragrances are not cheap and are around 250-300€. The bottle itself is stylish but this aluminum casing and the spray head are an absolute no-go. Fragile and of poor quality. If you perfect this issue just like your fragrances, this brand is flawless in my opinion.

Just arrived in the collection and I am shockingly in love..
Therefore, I do not understand the mediocre reviews for this scent.
A wonderful fresh rose fragrance. The rose is not overpowering, rather subtle and flowing with aquatic additions. Super balanced. The citrus note is very elegant here and eventually becomes very soft and pleasant on the skin - class.
Fits all year round. Very underrated. Starts off very fresh and is very suitable for special occasions, for example for a wedding :). More of a masculine scent with signature potential. I can therefore highly recommend this fragrance. Those who enjoy aquatic scents with a hint of rose will find this to their liking. Sillage and longevity are top-notch.
