Good can be so simple.
I had already tested the scent last year in a perfumery, eagerly and relatively early after its release. Since I had worn the Eau de Toilette for years, I was very curious about the EdP.

I liked it immediately and couldn't keep my nose off my wrist on the way home. In the opening, it is fresh and spicy at the same time. The mix of bergamot and apple with the strong pepper comes across very well and will please most people. After that, it becomes spicier and stronger, until the many woody notes come in, where it becomes a bit softer. All in all, a very simple, very pleasant-smelling, average-lasting perfume for men. The sillage is rather moderate.

By September '21, the large bottle finally made its way into my display case, and it became clear to me. The more fragrances I test that are complex and distinctive, the more fragrances I test that develop in a complicated yet unique scent progression, and the more I chase after niche fragrances over and over again, the more I can appreciate scents like Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum.
I must be more of a "designer type." ;-)

Nice opening, very classic scent progression, good longevity, great scent, already received several compliments, and "only" paid just under 50€ for 100ml. Good can be so simple....

He has grown older.
For me, the Eau de Parfum by Joop! Homme is one of the most logical developments I have ever smelled.

From the loud, sweet, pink, and eye-catching bottle, after more than 30 years, it has become a more mature and darker bottle, showing signs of its maturation process. At the first sniff, you immediately notice that it has remained young at heart. The DNA is undoubtedly present and will call to anyone who loved the classic from the 90s. The cinnamon note has become noticeably stronger and, combined with hazelnut and the absence of lemon in the top note, it starts off much softer and spicier, without appearing weaker. Overall, it feels earthier, but it is still in full possession of its powers, and that is a good thing. The longevity is very good, and it should easily last throughout the day.

It must be said that it definitely no longer stands out, as it is much more adapted to the times than the Eau de Toilette was back then. Armani Stronger with You is indeed a fragrance I would expect in its circle of friends, even though it is still different with its original DNA. It is not a unique scent, and you will likely perceive many similar fragrances, but Joop! has brought a logical successor to the Eau de Toilette to the market.

I really like this scent, and I am glad to have it in my collection now. Although I was sweating bullets in the meantime because it was compared to A*Men here. Of course, that comparison doesn't belong here, but I had to scrub A*Men off in the department store restroom because I found it absolutely disgusting. Of course, that didn't work because the stuff sticks like resin. :D I can still understand the comparison, though.

It has potential!
For me, this is one of the Mancera fragrances that has completely convinced me. Perhaps it was also because I had little to no expectations of it. I have also found that Mancera is one of the perfume manufacturers where a look at the fragrance pyramid confuses me more than it helps. Apart from Lemon Line and Cedrat Boise, I usually expected something different, but with this one, I was sure of what was coming. "Aqua Wood" was supposed to be another fresh, aquatic, and woody scent that would accompany me for 2-3 hours and then dissipate. Not at all! Something different... Whoozaaaa...

It starts off very fresh. But not with aquatic freshness, rather with juicy, zesty citrus fruits and a hint of pear, which stands up to the citrus fruits in terms of juiciness. This is definitely different from the other summer "Aqua" fragrances I have tested so far. In the background, a very light spiciness from ginger (?) sets in, making it even more interesting. It doesn't bother me at all, as the spiciness balances out with the sweetness.
Then the fragrance becomes more floral. The rose, which has an earthy character and is supported by patchouli, does a good job here. It fits my taste like a glove. At that point (around 2-3 hours in), you get the impression that it is already fading and about to completely disappear, but that is not the case. It does soften a bit, but with the onset of the other notes, it brings everything out again and actually becomes a bit heavier than before, suddenly evolving into a noble everyday scent that can be worn not only on hot summer days. It's quite astonishing.

In the end, you enjoy it for about 5-6 hours, and at first, it definitely makes an impression. For me, this fragrance has the potential to become my signature scent, as it is so multifaceted. It is fresh, fruity, floral, woody, and earthy, which is pretty much everything I like in perfumes. Mancera has bottled it all up, and et voila! What has emerged is an surprisingly good Aqua Wood that will definitely find its way into my collection.

Surprisingly good everyday scent!
I didn't expect this result when I got 5 samples from Mancera here at the Souk. After extensive research and reading many comments and statements here on Parfumo, as well as some reviews on YouTube, I had a rough idea of which fragrances are very popular and which ones are not so well received. Lemon Line, Sicily, Black Prestigium, Aoud Lemon Mint, and Cedrat Boise ended up in my mailbox, and to cut a long story short: Aoud Lemon Mint impressed me the most!

The beginning is citrusy, spicy, and a bit "musty" for me. Since this is my first Oud fragrance, I assume that this is due to the Oud. I actually thought that this couldn't be for me, but time proved me wrong. The "mustiness" fades over time, as does most of the lemon, leaving an earthy, soft, peppery mix that still has a hint of freshness. Patchouli, Oud, vetiver, and leather give this fragrance a rather masculine character, which is why I am a bit surprised that this is supposed to be a unisex scent. I don't think I would like it on a woman, but of course, tastes vary and everyone can wear what they want.

The dry down is clearly the highlight for me. The earthy, peppery Oud mix becomes sweeter, softer, and almost clings to the skin. I could swear that from that point on, I actually perceive a hint of mint. But it could also be that the remnants of lemon mixed with jasmine and the sweetness of vanilla somehow give the impression of mint... ? Honestly, I don't know, but most seem quite sure that there is no mint included, and I don't want to contradict that.

All in all, this is a very strong, very easy-to-wear Oud fragrance that has convinced me completely. I don't like the opening that much, but once the base notes kick in, it becomes a wonderful scent that will line up in the queue for my perfume collection. Despite the lemon and the non-existent mint, meaning the "fresh" approach in the opening, I would rather wear it in autumn or spring. For summer, I think it could be too heavy.

The longevity is very good! It projects quite strongly for about 3-4 hours, and you will definitely be noticed during that time, whether you want to be or not. After that, it becomes a bit cozier but easily lasts 10 hours, during which it remains subtly perceptible. A quick turn or a wave of the arm, and it wafts back to your nose. That's how I like it.

Mustache.
I can only agree with Thojama's comment. The name is not quite fitting, unless you associate a mustache with a fine, thin mustache worn by an elegant Frenchman entering a restaurant in a white shirt, drawing attention to himself. But that's not necessarily obvious, I admit.

Despite the affordable price, I sought out a sample to test it first, as my recent blind buys haven't been that exciting. But this fragrance can be confidently purchased blind, as it is one of the few where a glance at the fragrance pyramid is enough to get an idea of what to expect. Nothing extraordinary or surprising happens here.
It opens with a very nice, fruity mandarin that starts to tingle slightly due to the pepper. The rose also comes into play relatively early. At first, I thought it might be a bit too feminine for me, if it weren't for the patchouli slowly joining in. This happens during the first hour and gives the rose an earthy, dry touch, which benefits it greatly, especially in combination with the (almost delicious) juicy mandarin.

The longevity is decent, as is the sillage. There's really not much more to know, and there are certainly people who can describe all this more beautifully than I have. It simply remains to say that it is a very nice men's fragrance with rose. (Creed Viking? Not even close.) Moreover, I can actually imagine it for almost any occasion. For the price, it’s a great fragrance that is said to have many niche qualities. I am always cautious about such terms, but you can definitely notice the high quality.

It will be added to my collection,
