"The magic of the Wenik sauna: stories, community and healing in the steam"

The days are dark and cold.
After a hard day's work, I come home to my family.
The bones ache.
My stomach is empty .
And yet I stand in our front garden with a grin on my face and see the hot steam coming out of the chimney of our sauna. A sweet, woody smell wafts into my nose. I knew immediately that it wasn't my wife who had preheated the sauna. It was Igor. He lived in the deep forests of Kamchatka, where birch trees swarm in the summer. And yes, what can I say, this scent is Wenik infusion from the bottle.
For those who don't know what a Wenik infusion is. Dried birch branches and shrubs are tied together and left to dry in summer.
For a Wenik infusion, take the dried bundles and soak them in water for several days. The birch decoction, which then smells wonderful, smells like the Blamage from Nasomatto. And what can I say ,,Blamage is a day spa in a bottle ,,.
Durability incredible! Silliage good ! Still a very linear fragrance .

Beeswax candle dipped in honey .
Hello fragrance lovers . Today it was time again, when I got up after the night shift still a little tired and clapped out, I reached into my collection of samples . I turned the sample tube with the label in my direction and read the name Ambre Khandjar from Une Nuit Nomade . My mind immediately conjured up associations with the Orient. Fragrances like Grand Soir by Maison Francis Kurkdjian or Ambre Sultans by Serge Lutens.

"Because the brand has really good fragrances" Ala Sugar leather, Silver Saffron or the Jardins de Misfah, the coffee ran through the machine. But since I didn't want to wait any longer, I sprayed 2 puffs on my wrist.
I waited about 30 seconds before my nose wandered to my wrist for the first time, and what can I say "Wow just wow ."
Honey and beeswax were the first associations with the scent, and the exact opposite of what I had expected when I read the name Ambre Khandjar. I smelled my wrist again and again "honey and beeswax" almost like the beeswax candles I used to make in kindergarten. During the course of the day I smelled my wrist from time to time and the beeswax note became less and less, but remained over the entire course of the fragrance. The fragrance definitely becomes sweeter and spicier over time. There is also a hint of cinnamon .

By now it was 10 p.m. and the night shift was calling again. I decided to wear the fragrance as SOTD. And that as a mechanic at work. I sprayed 6 times and off I went to work. The scent was still noticeable after a good 8 hours of work.

Rarely smelled something so extravagant.
To start : dark slightly synthetic blackberry , crushed on a leather sofa . After a good 30 minutes, the currant joins in, very reminiscent of dextrose. The blackberry fades more and more into the background and a slightly pungent but pleasant musk can be perceived. Now it becomes very leathery & resinous-warm .
