My Long Journey to This Fragrance
To spoil it right away: I have been the proud owner of this fragrance for a few days now. It wasn't easy for me to approach this scent. And here's how it went:
Although I haven't been obsessed with fragrances for long, I quickly became interested in the exclusives from the Guerlain series "L'Art et la Matiere." To get a sense of them, I started ordering various samples of the fragrances. One of the samples was SDV. And I was disappointed: such a weak little water with very poor longevity… and then so expensive. That can't be right.
I let some time pass, but the fragrance wouldn't let me go. I tried again with another sample, and… was horrified. The scent literally smelled like cold ash, downright disgusting. This time I was sure I had received not just a dilution but a fake. No premium fragrance could smell that awful.
At some point, I had the opportunity to sniff an original bottle. And I was immediately captivated by the scent. I could immediately see a resemblance to Angelique Noire, which I have owned for a while. The beautiful Guerlain vanilla has a distinct recognizability. It is not as green in SDV, but a bit sweeter and indeed more alcoholic. However, the "sweetness" is subtle and beautifully rounded, composed with fine incense and spice. The fragrance warms and envelops me in a cozy way. The longevity is average, but fine for me. The scent projects quite well, but not too much, making it suitable for the office. I will wear it in autumn and winter. Then it will be perfect for me.
The bottle is simply and elegantly designed in a rectangular shape with a gold-colored plaque embossed with the name. This is also the case with the other fragrances in the series. The liquid has a brownish tint. This is something the fragrance shares with the others.
I am now quite happy to have shown some perseverance here. Fortunately, the fake samples did not deter me permanently.
However, I would like to emphasize that in the souk, in most cases, you encounter honest partners who would not deceive anyone. It has hardly ever happened to me otherwise. I have met some really great people here.

Skin scent? What is that supposed to be?
A nice salesperson had sent me a sample of this fragrance as a gift. "Skin" by Clean Reserve. Neither the name nor the brand meant anything to me. "Skin"... I didn't like the name of the fragrance. And then the previous statements... they went as far as "blood taste." How disgusting. But I try all samples, so I gave this one a shot too. Very, very cautiously, of course.
And then... wow! Where is there supposed to be a skin taste? What even is that? I smell a finely tuned, subtle, floral-sweet, and very slightly citrusy scent that is entirely pleasant. I like the fragrance so much right away that I researched the fragrance pyramid and had it added.
The salt often mentioned here can be sensed as a hint and perfectly complements the sweetness. I wouldn't label it as a gourmand.

The scent caresses me and doesn't push itself to the forefront. It can be worn every day. It doesn't knock anyone over. And in my opinion, it is definitely feminine.

The bottle is simple and straight with clear lines... very "clean," indeed. The cap is made of wood. I like that kind of thing. Not much fuss, clear lines.
It has now moved in with me.

Wallflower? Why only?

Please be patient, this is my first comment. I’m doing my best.

I would like to dedicate this to a fragrance that leads an unnoticed existence... unjustly, in my opinion.

A year ago, I came across "With Love" by Kaviar Gauche through a Douglas sample. Until then, I only knew Kaviar Gauche as a Berlin fashion company. Can they do fragrance?

Oh yes, they can. But there is only this one.

The EdP "With Love" blew me away from the first moment. A completely rounded, successful creation. I associated "With Love" with understated elegance and chic from the very first sniff. The fragrance impresses right from the start with a light, restrained citrus and freshness. There’s nothing overwhelming in the nose. Everything is finely balanced. Later, it becomes floral and fruity. I’m (still) not very good at differentiating scents, but the fig is easily recognizable. As it develops, the woods become distinctly noticeable. Perfect, in my opinion.

The fragrance stays quite close to the skin. It doesn’t annoy anyone. It’s a scent for me that is rather not perceived at a distance of 1-2 meters. And unfortunately, it doesn’t last very long. After 3-4 hours, it’s over.

And the bottle... top class. The simple straight lines of the heavy glass bottle meet the metallic opulence of the cap, which features a golden, intricately designed rose. Beautiful.
It will always remain one of my favorites.
