Oud with a difference
I started my Alexandria journey with the classic 2. I really like this fragrance before and after. The DNA is simply incredibly beautiful. But the Alexandria Orientale takes it to another level. Although it has the beautiful facets of the original 2, the oud makes it stand out.

But what is the oud like?

I sometimes find oud difficult to describe because it can come in so many incredible variations. Hardly one oud is the same as another in my opinion. I am lucky enough to own a UAE bottle. This is said to have a much stronger/more potent oud. I have compared it with my normal "Orientale" sample and can only confirm this.

Now to the oud. It's not a stinky oud. It's not that classic cowshed smell but rather an oud that simply goes very well with the Alex2 DNA. I think it's a little animalic but not so much that it's disturbing. My girlfriend doesn't like cowsheds and super animalic at all. She doesn't mind this scent either, outside of the Monster performance.

Besides the oud, you have a super nice and complex blend of mmn green apple, leather and rose. You can also detect a hint of iris. Simply a masterpiece!

I really think the Oriental version is a definite upgrade and very exciting to the existing range. I would choose this fragrance again and again.

The fragrance
I've already tested a few fragrances and often I only really fall in love with them after smelling them 3, 4 or 5 times. I actually know my way around the Xerjoff range relatively well and feel "at home" there.

Well, there is a fragrance called Amber Star, which is only available in combination with Star Musk. The price of the set is a bit daunting and you rarely find anything in the souk. A dear colleague gave me a sample of the Star Musk. I didn't really like this one...

So now I read the fragrance notes of the Amber Star and think to myself: Come on, I've already tested the Star Musk, now I should at least test the more popular Amber Star.
I bought a sample from the manufacturer here.

I sprayed Amber Star directly onto my skin for the first time...it blew me away. I'm normally a rather introverted person who doesn't usually show my emotions to the outside world. This fragrance really made me laugh. I knew it was the fragrance I had been looking for sooo long.

Well, what does it smell like?

I think it has a wonderful sweet vanilla/amber note. It also has a great light woody note. For me, the fragrance is almost a gourmand scent. In the dd the sandalwood note mmn also comes out very well. Overall, a very round, soft fragrance that I wouldn't want to be without.

I think the Amber Star is also beautiful in combination with the Star Musk. They blend together beautifully. Perfect for me in a 2/3:1 ratio. More amber than musk.

If I could only wear one fragrance. Then it would be Amber Star.
