Vanilla Flannel Shirt
I don't even know how to start.

Maybe by saying that I sprayed this little treasure on, went into the kitchen, smelled a fantastically delicious dessert, asked my roommate if he had prepared something like that so I could snag a bit, only to realize that this scent was coming from me?

Or perhaps by mentioning that I sprayed it in the drugstore without any great expectations, found it quite nice, woke up the next day, put on my shirt which must have caught a spritz of it, and it smelled ABSOLUTELY amazing?

Chronologically, the latter experience happened before the former and ultimately convinced me to make the purchase. This scent is truly a dream. And I somehow feel that it lasts much, much longer on clothes and actually develops better than on the skin. On my shirt, it smells incredibly good, sweetly vanilla, and deep, super cozy and relaxed, and somehow I feel transported to an autumn evening by the fireplace in terms of coziness. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing smoky about it at all, but the vibe is just super snuggly and comforting, reminding me of fluffy flannel shirts (maybe because my fragrant shirt is exactly that :D).

On my skin, it feels a bit "thinner"; I also have the feeling that there might be something to the idea of "maturing" with this scent. This cozy depth has only been achieved on clothes so far, and I could imagine that it has to really "sink in" somewhere (into the fabric) rather than just "sitting on top" (on the skin).

So my tip for everyone who might be missing that certain something here or who complains about a plastic note: Spray it on your clothing. And then let yourself be enchanted, even days later. I'm curious if you notice something similar! :)

Freshly Back from the Souk
Well. Actually, this fragrance is still a remnant from ages ago, when I was still in school and worked part-time at the perfume shop in the neighboring town. I hadn’t used it for so long that it didn’t even make the move to my university town, but instead sat gathering dust in my old childhood room at my parents' house, leading a sad existence.

Until I was home for a visit recently and, just for fun, sniffed through everything that was still in the cupboard. Some of it had gone off, and my nose was so offended after a short time that I could only distinguish between "must be thrown away urgently" and "okay, this one seems to still be good." I took a few of the latter candidates back with me to pack them for the souk - one can always use a little financial boost, and hopefully, someone will be very happy - and so I also included this little pink bottle.

And luckily, THANKFULLY, I gave it another chance and sprayed it one last time, the goodbye sprayer, so to speak, which unexpectedly transformed into the "Welcome back, why did I ever abandon you" sprayer. A beautifully refreshing-fruity-sparkling scent greeted me, instantly giving me a freshly showered feeling, yet sophisticated and mature-woody enough not to be just another cliché fresh-fruity bomb from the drugstore, but rather brings an elegant spritz that is just right for really hot days. In my opinion, it works during the summer, in the daytime, in the evening, at beach parties, in the office, really everywhere. Whenever I crave a little refresher, I now spray this candidate, which also has surprisingly good sillage and longevity on me. A great spring/summer all-rounder that almost (but luckily only almost ;) ) slipped through my fingers.

Dangerous!
In my opinion, a masterpiece. So unsweet and fresh yet still feminine, with a very special woody note that, in combination with the other ingredients, can certainly reset the olfactory receptors to factory settings. This scent could be displayed in regular perfumeries instead of coffee beans and would do the job just as well.

Very grounding and calming, but also somehow invigorating and so pleasant that the sample (which will soon be replaced by a bottle) permanently sits on my desk while I work, and I have to sniff it every 15 minutes to clear my brain... I could swear it was every 20 minutes just yesterday... where do I turn if the sniffing interval continues to decrease and the craving increases? Oh dear, someone help me....

I think you are the one!
My very first review of a fragrance ever, and that despite the fact that we found each other completely by chance.

As a surprise sample, you were included in a beautiful souk package, and although this package contained 15 intentionally ordered samples, my testing fingers went straight for you. I can't quite say why, but what happened next can be gleaned from the title: Yes, I think you are the one!

First of all - I am incredibly hard to impress when it comes to fragrances; I often find them too sweet, too piercing, too strong, too something, and a single note is enough to ruin the entire scent for me. But here, everything just fits. This fragrance is so airy-light, so skin-like-clean, so delicate and fine, and simply such a treat for the nose! It smells somehow enveloping and beautiful, and if I could lie in a bathtub full of this liquid, I would do it.

This is no joke; I mean it seriously. The feeling would be the perfect refreshment on a hot summer day. Do you know that moment when you have found the perfect coolness? No flinching when stepping into that tub, just that kind of temperature you can glide into without batting an eyelash, with cheeks glowing from the summer heat, to finally feel the well-deserved relief that is so necessary after a hot day in the sun. This luxurious, relaxing feeling is what this fragrance embodies for me.

Moreover, this fragrance is so "non-perfumey" that I can actually understand why some associate it with the scent of a hotel or spa. For me, however, this is not a downside at all; on the contrary - I love those scents that you don't immediately associate with "perfume".

I also want to urgently address a particularity that I have never experienced before: Although the above text reads as if it is about a cool summer fragrance, I must clarify that it is truly an all-rounder. Not only in terms of seasons but also occasions. Due to its enveloping, familiar character, it feels like a gentle, cozy hug in cold temperatures, while it shines with its cooling component in hot temperatures. Since it is so airy-light and cannot annoy anyone (at least in my opinion :D), it is obviously suitable as an everyday scent for work and everything else, BUT, and I find this so impressive, it is actually also an ideal candidate for nightlife in clubs and discos. A fragrance of this kind is so unexpected among dancing people and stuffy, heavy, sweet, sweaty air that I believe anyone who catches a whiff of it in between will be grateful for that brief moment in the cool tub. And that definitely makes you stand out.

In short - a truly beautiful, balancing fragrance that works anytime and anywhere, whether ice fishing in Alaska or an afternoon coffee gathering in a French garden in August, a day in the library during exam season, or the subsequent club night.

That the ordering finger was ultimately just as quick as the testing finger, I probably don't need to mention anymore ;)
