Cotton Shirt, Freshly Washed
It doesn't always have to be flashy.
Often, a casual white T-shirt and jeans have more sex appeal than an elaborately styled look.
Coton Chic has an unremarkable aura, but it’s not that simple either.
The opening is fresh, zesty, and spicy with slight barbershop vibes.
This latent scratchiness quickly recedes, and a clean sweetness develops,
which actually reminds me of a freshly washed and ironed cotton shirt.
The latter is because the “typical cotton smell” really develops only through the moist heat of an iron.
After that, the scent remains linear and increasingly merges with the skin.
It’s actually more of a “I feel good” than a “I’m perfumed” scent.
However, I have the suspicion that the projection and self-perception of Coton Chic are highly temperature-dependent, as I perceive the scent very faintly indoors.
When I go outside, where the skin temperature is significantly higher compared to the single-digit fresh air, I can smell it much better.
Somehow, it feels cozy, trustworthy, like a “perfect world.”
Beautiful things can be so simple.

Anticipation for Summer
I love tea.
Nothing brings me more comfort on damp, cold, windy days than wrapping myself up with freshly brewed tea and an interesting book, forgetting the world as I dive into another. Even in summer, I appreciate the drink in lukewarm or iced versions, depending on the variety.
Logically, I am also drawn to scents that feature tea in their name.
Lagerfeld's Teeblume greets me with a sparkling freshness in a top note that slightly reminds me of Arden's Green Tea.
Soon, distinct citrus aromas join in, which are complemented by a note that is "skin-like" and also softly powdery to my nose.
The tea impression is consistently present and perceptible for a few hours, albeit predictably soft and close to the skin.
There isn't much development here; the flowers serve more to stabilize the overall artwork.
Fleur de Thé is a pleasing, unobtrusive scent, and I look forward to wearing it in summer.
I can imagine that it can shine a bit better with the warmth of the skin.

Metamorphosis in Rose
Finding what you weren't looking for.
Arriving, which feels like coming home.
That is Rosewood for me.
It starts on my skin creamy, floral, sweet, full-bodied like a pink cream dessert and, for my taste, a bit “girly.”
The bergamot contributes a shy citrus sparkle in the background, which, as the fragrance develops, occasionally reminds me of those fizzy pink bath bombs, but it is not dominant in the top note.
I think of hibiscus, and indeed there are similarities to Ibisco e Pepe Rosa by Tesori, which, however, is much coarser and also louder at the beginning.
After the first hour, I still perceive Rosewood as creamy, but the sweetness has faded, and a very light hairspray note comes into play. Not sharp, but harmonious and rounded, it ensures that the fragrance is increasingly powdery-woody.
For me, it is an intimate, quiet scent that has enormous staying power and accompanies me for 10 hours and longer. Always close to the body, soft and never intrusive.
Unfortunately, the packaging is no longer as beautiful as it used to be. The wooden box has been replaced by a cardboard box printed with pink flowers, which very well reflects my impression of the fragrance, although I would describe it as transitioning from a strong, almost pink pastel rose to a brownish old rose.
In a way, a transformation from youthful to young-at-heart and certainly my most beautiful fragrance discovery of late.

The Hidden Treasures
This fragrance puts me in deep contemplation.
How is it possible that it receives so little attention?
That all the Grès perfumes lead such a miserable shadow existence and are often sold off at bargain prices in this country after a short time?
Even though I don't want to philosophize further about marketing, etc. - perhaps they get more attention in other countries - my heart weeps, because among the scents from Grès are true gems that could compete with the ubiquitous high-priced designer fragrances and often even much more expensive niche perfumes.
I think, for example, of the Lumière line, whose remaining stocks are now being sold again at "normal prices," but only because they are hard to find.
Or the Les Signes de Grès, which have reached rock-bottom prices - a sign that they will soon disappear from the market.
Just like Madame Grès or the wonderful Pièce Unique.
This is a distinctive fragrance full of character that skillfully translates the spirit of Cabochard into the modern age.
Pièce Unique unfolds robustly aromatic-spicy through pepper and herbal angelica.
It tingles in the nose like a bitter effervescent powder.
Plum and Davana with their mango-like scent add a subtly fruity component,
but just enough so that the overall impression is neither too strict nor sticky-sweet.
Jasmine does not stand out, but gives the fragrance a radiance that carries the top note with its spicy fizz for hours.
I love its presence and forgive the quiet farewell, as I notice nothing of leather or smoke; my skin apparently absorbs it without a trace.
Pièce Unique has become a familiar companion that I no longer want to miss, and I am happy to have unearthed the treasure before it disappeared.

Seafarer's Bride
It has been a while since I first encountered him.
I just wanted to quickly grab something, hurried through the aisles of the store, and there he stood.
Solid, angular, and in such a pleasant blue that I spontaneously stopped.
Let me be your pirate, he whispered to me.
Not so fast, sailor, let’s see if I can smell you first.
I visited him a few more times there, succumbed to his rugged charm, and now he resides with me.
After Cocaine was launched and certainly made waves not least because of its name, but failed to convince me at all, various other Rammstein fragrances were quickly thrown onto the market, covering different scent directions that eventually managed to win me over.
The sailor has substance from the very beginning and is neither watery nor light.
At the start, I briefly smell the fish sauce that I use for seasoning Thai dishes.
However, this part of the heart note that is washed to the surface completely disappears afterwards.
What follows is very pleasant and truly carries something of the power of the sea with a slight scent of seaweed and algae without me being able to break down any individual notes here.
Because there is always something slightly dirty resonating, the fragrance never slips into the trivial or too clean.
It remains powerful and lasts all day, on textiles for several days.
Yes, Rammstein can also be aquatic and, in my opinion, really good.
