Ladies and gentlemen, please step right up, no need to be shy, we are among friends here, and if your neighbor suddenly appears behind you, just say you’re bringing this for your acquaintances, hehehe! What I present to you today is something the older generations among you are surely familiar with, right? Yaaa, no one wants to admit they belong to the older generation, not me either, but we know things that you won’t find in any textbook today, and this knowledge has unjustly fallen into oblivion! Today, I am showing you NOTHING NEW! Yes, you’re surprised, aren’t you?! Rather, this is an OLD, PROVEN HOME REMEDY: Your mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother all knew it, and they all gave it to their husbands when they had celebrated Father’s Day a bit too long and didn’t want or couldn’t get up the next morning.
Ladies and gentlemen, let’s not kid ourselves, we all enjoy having one, two, or fifteen glasses in the evening. I always say: In the past, women could cook like our mothers, today they can drink like our fathers, harhar! Saturday night is full of life, and Sunday morning in church, you feel so bad that you wonder if it’s better to just stay there.
Four numbers: 4711! That’s not the emergency hotline, but almost! 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser has been around for over 200 years, and that speaks for itself! Back then, people were grateful to have anything other than industrial stench in their noses; today, we are rightly a bit more spoiled, which is why I present to you the new 4711 Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme - refreshing and natural as ever, a classic cologne combined with the holiday feeling of southern France!
Especially gentle on an irritated stomach! One or two spritzes and the hangover can catch mice again! You see, I’m spraying this on a scent cloth, one, two, then it’s folded into a triangle and tucked into the breast pocket of the Sunday suit, and the husband is like new! Or for the ladies, one or two spritzes in the hair, and you smell as charming as a Provençal lavender field.
On the pillow, it ensures a relaxed sleep, and even when Waldi smells like what he is after a walk in the rain, namely a wet dog - let’s say it together: One, two!
Not only the calming EFFECT, but also the FRAGRANCE speaks for this product, and I say, without wanting to push anything on you: What our grandmothers already knew, we should all at least try once! - The classic, elegantly shaped 100-ml crystal bottle is available for just 23 euros and 50 cents.

on the road with the herbal witch
From my time "Back to Nature," when I was truly reintroduced to the forgotten healing powers of plants, I know a "herbal witch."
She is a woman not quite young anymore, who has deeply immersed herself in this field and can tell wonderful stories about it. These stories entertain educationally during walks that have poetic names like "With Lavender to Provence"; but they only take place in parks, cemeteries, and gardens here in the city.
In doing so, she also dispels the old myth that roses and lavender thrive beneficially next to each other because lavender aroma is said to be good against lice.
They do not get along; so it is better to separate them - as beautiful as they may look together.

She also teaches us that there are many varieties of thyme; not just the dark green one we use for seasoning cold and warm dishes, but also the white-leaved one and one with quite nicely patterned leaves.
All possess the very pungent, spicy scent, and the small leaves should not be cut but rather rubbed between the fingers to fully release their aroma.
In old books (and also with me) it says: Thyme (or also wild thyme) should be rubbed.
Thyme stands for energy: due to its stimulating, strengthening scent.
In naturopathy, it dispels confusion, promotes logical thinking, and dissipates doubts upon waking about oneself and the beginning day.
Its scent is also said to renew mental stability; which is why I often dripped a few drops of thyme oil into the water of my aroma lamp in stressful situations.

This energy is utilized by 4711 in its "Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme."
Just a few spritzes are enough to experience the feeling of freshness intensified and to feel more alive and awake.
Even after the initial alcohol rush is over, this fragrance water still cools pleasantly.

The vitality-giving thyme is accompanied here by lavender.
This being, which spreads a flattering scent not only in bloom but also in herb, is a kind of hybrid.
Lavender, one hears, calms, promotes sleep, and is good for the nerves.
I believed that for a long time until I tried it: I tossed and turned for hours at night instead of finding peace.
Lavender spreads serenity - that is true!
Its complex scent seduces and enchants the senses. It refreshes, cleanses the mind, and dispels fatigue, fear, and worries!
Thus, my nightly wanderings are explained. Never again "a few drops of it on the pillow"!
This balsamically scented plant, which we envision in long rows in large fields, e.g., in Provence, has been used by 4711 as a sympathetic partner for thyme in "Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme."

Together, they create a refreshing fragrance that invigorates and cools.
The slightly scratchy aroma of thyme harmoniously combines here with the softness of lavender.
A few spritzes of it in the wash water refresh even on very warm days in the morning; the invigorating scent thus lingers a bit longer. One feels so revitalized and clean, instead of dusty and worn out!
That is why disposable washcloths in the drawer, even for the coolest business types, are a practical summer purchase.
Ideal also for a refreshing wash of the backs of the knees before a few spritzes of Acqua Colonia land there.
It really refreshes!

And between us: As with many "colognes," the alcohol content here is quite high, which can sometimes be doubly beneficial!
Who doesn't know the slight weakness on hot days: the circulation doesn't cooperate anymore.
A few spritzes of "Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme" in a small glass of water and sipping slowly - that feels good!
It doesn't always have to be "Klosterfrau Melissengeist" (please: this is an example, not an advertisement!).
As a lavender tea drinker, it doesn't take me much effort - and it helps!
Invigorating herbal effects and alcohol awaken the tired circulation; one feels better quickly.

I do not perceive any additional sweetness; for my senses, this fragrance creation consists of thyme and lavender. Although perhaps more than just one variety of each herb was processed for this.
The longevity corresponds to that of a fragrance water; but the strong spiciness lingers as a hint for some time.

Thus, "Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme" is a refreshing summer companion; but also after sports and strenuous meetings or long-haul flights, it is an equally good substitute for the well-known "4711 - Echt Kölnisch Wasser."
I find it more pleasant because it is softer and spicier = rounder than the classic.
This one always "bites" me a bit in the nose.

So, anyone looking for a refreshing companion through hot and strenuous days or an invigorating wake-up aid in the morning should simply give "Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme" a try.

My "herbal witch" tried it, nodded, and continued to rub the wild thyme between her fingers.

a gentle resting pillow
Today I cleared and worked in the living room, as the birdcage needs to be moved to a quiet, draft-free spot.
The budgies Peppi and Molly look bewildered from their house and observe the new view.
Hopefully, they like the move and feel comfortable there.

Because my husband and I have sweated through two shirts.

I find a forgotten little bag of Acqua Colonia Lavender & Thyme labeled: soothing.
I can always use that - and especially today.
The lavender brings calm to the scent, as expected, and the thyme adds a certain strength.
So: In calmness lies strength.
A very delicate sweetness envelops the fragrance - like a whisper.
A light soapiness reaches me as well.
Lavender & Thyme is both calming and strengthening.

Not only a clear conscience is a gentle resting pillow - the right fragrance is too.

Love at second sight sometimes lasts longer! ;)
Lavender & Thyme has been on the market for a few years now. A few years ago, when I was trying out the series - initially interested because I liked Melissa & Verbena so much - Lavender immediately caught my eye. I am still looking for a replacement for my beloved Eau de Toilette from Yves Rocher - Pur desire de Lavande. It was incredibly calming and fresh at the same time. I hadn't found anything comparable until then. However, when I tried 4711 Lavande & Thyme, I initially found the top note, which strongly resembles the original 4711, rather unattractive. After that, at least for my nose back then, there wasn't much more to it. So, I had already written it off as: insignificant and uninteresting. It wasn't until Christmas 2015 that I gave the EDC a second chance when it was on sale. I sprayed it on and didn't expect much. On the right was the already well-known and highly regarded 4711 Acqua Colonia Lime & Nutmeg, and on the left was Lavender. The first impression of the top note was again: 4711. However, while strolling through the city, the delicate scent of lavender and powder eventually reached my nose. And that amidst all the almond and food stalls at the Christmas market! Sure, it's just an EDC and the sillage is limited, but it's definitely sufficient for an EDC! Moreover, the price of €40 for 170 ml (original price) is not overpriced at all. Well then, I smelled it on my wrist once more and then again and again. I couldn't stop. I immediately thought that it actually reminded me of my beloved Yves Rocher fragrance in the heart note. Considering my shopping budget, I tried to talk myself out of the 4711, but, as you surely know, it drew me closer and closer to the perfumery. Offer, discounts, and a supposedly new favorite scent? Yessss, I couldn't say no - and I haven't regretted it for a second. After I had my new treasure at home, I wore it daily for weeks. In the morning, to start the day in a good mood, at noon, to take a whiff of "freshly washed" with me, in the evening, to snuggle up a bit in front of the TV, and at night on the pillow, to fall asleep calmly and securely. By now, the bottle is almost empty, and I have already secured a refill. Is it true that this scent is no longer being produced??? It's getting rare to find, and I'm already considering stockpiling.

My tip to all skeptics: Give the new 4711 scents a second or even third chance. One will definitely be for you! And I've also gotten used to the top note by now. It definitely belongs there!

Specifically, the Lavande & Thymian is not pure lavender, but the thyme only comes through very insignificantly on the side and doesn't disturb at all. In the base note, there remains an incredibly soapy-powdery lavender that truly calms. Fans of particularly soapy scents should definitely take a risk and give it a sniff (and bring some patience)!

J'adore!
Finally something new from 4711. Thyme Lavender Awesome pleases me a lot. And if 4711 keeps its word, everything is 100% natural. I am a big fan of lavender scents. I still put little lavender-filled organza bags in the closets like I used to! And a little tip: have you ever tried lavender ice cream?? I love it!

For me, it's an ideal combination of cologne, spicy-herb notes, and lavender. Wonderful!

Softer 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser with essential lavender and Mediterranean herbs. I would prefer it less sweet.

A cologne with herbal, woody lavender - I don't smell thyme. It develops a hint of sweetness in the dry down. Definitely great for summer.

The first lavender I want to have. Just pleasantly aromatic. Neither too harsh nor too old-fashioned. Clean, fresh, well-groomed.

A memory of a herb walk: many types of thyme with natural powers, lavender fields in the sunshine full of fragrant sweetness.

The scent convinced me in the base. Initially citrusy, herbal. Later it becomes beautifully floral-vanilla and soft. Lavender is hardly there.
