Simply wonderfully spicy-sensual....

...and not a trace of sweetness or heaviness! This GRES is a hit... it arrives quietly on airy little paws and cuddles around the nose, it is powerful, but also subtly sensual, stylish, and with a high recognition value, as I personally find. It is not a scent you encounter everywhere, it needs a self-confident wearer who stands firmly in life, not a girl and certainly not a gray mouse. I treated myself to it without knowing what to expect - yes, I love blind buys, even though I must admit that I have often missed the mark, but that is the risk and this thrill has its charm too ;-) now from the very beginning: at first, with the first spray, a wonderful spicy-bright pepper envelops you with a hint of southern mandarin, you immediately want more of it.... I cannot identify jasmine and that is just fine with me, as I am not fond of jasmine in pronounced form. What, however, creeps beautifully into the nose is the full, ripe plum, which makes it deeper and darker... it has something very animalistic at this point, pure sensuality... fortunately, it remains consistently unsweetened and thus does not become unbearably heavy or intrusive, which I hate and tends to give me headaches - Piece Unique is miles away from that, fortunately! Now I am wondering who or what "Davana" actually is - this ingredient is mentioned in the official fragrance pyramid... I have never heard of it, but it seems to be delicious ;-) what makes the scent uniquely sensual in my view, especially in the dry-down, which is very long-lasting, is a brilliant blend of leather, musk, incense, and a dash of patchouli... my nose is practically glued to my wrist! By the way, I think it could also pass as a unisex scent, for guys who love that certain something beyond the bland mainstream! This GRES is damn sexy and erotic, but not overtly so and even less clumsy and direct, it has elegance and grandeur and it wants to be celebrated..... it will accompany me this fall and winter and I already love it!

Gravitative in Pepper-Smoke

If one thinks that the shape or color of the bottle could say something about the scent of its contents, one can be quite mistaken. This is also the case with this beautiful Grès fragrance.
On the outside, it suggests a rather sweet-floral perfume. The bright salmon pink evokes images of pink and orange roses, but there is hardly a trace of that to smell. I personally have the impression of smoky-balsamic notes, underlined and overlaid by spicy-fruity pepper varieties. A hint of mirabelle, damson, and plum, no peach, rather a very lightly bittersweet, aromatic apricot. (Although not listed above, it is quite recognizable).
Then the overall impression gradually becomes darker. Woody patchouli, quite a bit of incense, a touch of myrrh, and very delicately and subtly a pinch of musk.
Although "Piece Unique" comes across as quite bitter, it has something "gravitational," almost elegant, without being "snobbish" or even repellent. Between the "lines," I can slightly detect "dark leather," but the main accord consists of the tension between the fruity-pepper notes and the smoky-earthy scents. A tension that makes the creation very interesting. Not a completely brand-new scent theme, but unusual enough to almost be considered a "niche fragrance."

The Hidden Treasures

This fragrance puts me in deep contemplation.
How is it possible that it receives so little attention?
That all the Grès perfumes lead such a miserable shadow existence and are often sold off at bargain prices in this country after a short time?
Even though I don't want to philosophize further about marketing, etc. - perhaps they get more attention in other countries - my heart weeps, because among the scents from Grès are true gems that could compete with the ubiquitous high-priced designer fragrances and often even much more expensive niche perfumes.
I think, for example, of the Lumière line, whose remaining stocks are now being sold again at "normal prices," but only because they are hard to find.
Or the Les Signes de Grès, which have reached rock-bottom prices - a sign that they will soon disappear from the market.
Just like Madame Grès or the wonderful Pièce Unique.

This is a distinctive fragrance full of character that skillfully translates the spirit of Cabochard into the modern age.
Pièce Unique unfolds robustly aromatic-spicy through pepper and herbal angelica.
It tingles in the nose like a bitter effervescent powder.
Plum and Davana with their mango-like scent add a subtly fruity component,
but just enough so that the overall impression is neither too strict nor sticky-sweet.
Jasmine does not stand out, but gives the fragrance a radiance that carries the top note with its spicy fizz for hours.
I love its presence and forgive the quiet farewell, as I notice nothing of leather or smoke; my skin apparently absorbs it without a trace.

Pièce Unique has become a familiar companion that I no longer want to miss, and I am happy to have unearthed the treasure before it disappeared.

He is not the evening gown, rather the necklace around the neck that complements. Not the great sweater you bought expensively, rather the elegant scarf around it. Hidden Treasure

I am so glad that this masterpiece has made its way into my collection. I ordered the fragrance blind based on reviews. It didn't cost much. But it is worth at least as much as the expensive niche fragrances in my collection.

Piece Unique is truly a one-of-a-kind. Above all, I find the scent thoroughly feminine in the best sense - a fragrance for a woman who wants to be a woman. She knows who she is and what she is worth. She doesn't need masculine, quirky, extravagant scents to present herself. She is simply there, as she is, and smells elegant, fresh, high-quality but also extraordinary. Dressed in the finest fabrics, no polyester, no viscose, no glitter and nonsense. She doesn't need that. I have associations with silk and fine cashmere.

Those who like Hermes creations and appreciate Chanel DNA could also be happy here. The scent shows class apart from today's trends, such as overwhelming wood synthetics and numbing sweetness.

The freshness of pink pepper, green spice from angelica, delicate leather, juicy plum, and incense merge into an extraordinary elegance. In the opening, pink pepper and mandarin provide a slightly sharp refreshment. As it develops, the fragrance becomes warmer, softer, woodier, but never too sweet and never too synthetic.

Unfortunately, the fragrance also has a weakness. After 2 hours, it fades away, leaving only a light hint of the scent on the skin. It's a pity, as there isn't a proper base developing on my skin. It could be wonderful. Reapplying is not a problem at this price, but it's a small deduction in the B-note.
