Who peeled a mandarin?
You probably know it, especially at this time of year, you walk into the kitchen and a piercing citrus scent fills the air. Someone has just peeled an orange or mandarin. The freshly brewed tea is steeping on the countertop. It’s a green tea, with lemon and honey. That’s roughly how "Les Parfums Matières - Fleur de Thé | Karl Lagerfeld" smells to me. Just more summery, as there’s no cinnamon or clove involved. I sprayed it on today, and unfortunately, the scent faded after just 2-3 hours. Maybe someone could still smell it on me, but I couldn’t detect it anymore. The price is unbeatable, so you can easily reapply it more often. It also layers well with a warmer scent that contains vanilla or cinnamon to make it more festive. It was a blind buy and I’m not mad about it ..:)

Too floral, not refreshing
Unfortunately, despite the good price, I disagree with the general perception of summer freshness and tea.

My nose quickly gets taken over by rather sweet-floral notes after a natural and lemony opening, where an old-fashioned scent pillow note resonates early on, making everything smell quite generic. The refreshing and natural aspects of citrus and tea, which I was looking forward to, are secondary in the drydown, although the tea note is still somewhat more present for me.

In general, after a while, I feel more like I’ve sprayed myself with a synthetic-smelling wooden fragrance stick liquid like Rituals or similar. I quickly felt nauseous from the scent, and I dread to think of being sprayed with it on a hot day.

As a relaxation or bedtime scent, I also find it too synthetic and sweet in the drydown. The fresh opening and the hint of green tea can’t save it anymore, and I don’t want to endure the rest. Thank goodness the fragrance composition fades relatively quickly, but to my dismay, it clung quite stubbornly to the skin.

Actually, I am someone who doesn’t hold much stock in classic gender roles or corresponding assigned scent profiles, and I try to free myself from that, but - classically speaking - Fleur de Thé would not be a scent I would recommend without hesitation as unisex due to the irresistibly spreading sweet floral nature (Fleur>>>Thé) and the too short-lived freshness. (It is also not labeled as such).

So, if you want to give your Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Signature Scent a bit of variety, go ahead. Otherwise, it’s better to exercise some caution before purchasing.

I find comparisons to LV Imagination or Gritti Pomelo Sorrento somewhat presumptuous :D, although the latter has a similarly poor H/S. Better to throw the money for this scent into a piggy bank if you were led here in search of an affordable alternative.

PS: The bottle is beautiful!

Anticipation for Summer
I love tea.
Nothing brings me more comfort on damp, cold, windy days than wrapping myself up with freshly brewed tea and an interesting book, forgetting the world as I dive into another. Even in summer, I appreciate the drink in lukewarm or iced versions, depending on the variety.
Logically, I am also drawn to scents that feature tea in their name.

Lagerfeld's Teeblume greets me with a sparkling freshness in a top note that slightly reminds me of Arden's Green Tea.
Soon, distinct citrus aromas join in, which are complemented by a note that is "skin-like" and also softly powdery to my nose.
The tea impression is consistently present and perceptible for a few hours, albeit predictably soft and close to the skin.
There isn't much development here; the flowers serve more to stabilize the overall artwork.

Fleur de Thé is a pleasing, unobtrusive scent, and I look forward to wearing it in summer.
I can imagine that it can shine a bit better with the warmth of the skin.

Juicy Lemon in Green Tea
In search of a tea scent, I came across Fleur de Thé. At a price of around 13 euros for 50ml, I didn't have to think twice. With that price, I had no high expectations, but I was positively surprised.

About the scent:
In the top note, the fragrance starts citrusy,
but not synthetic, rather like a juicy-sour lemon from the Amalfi Coast. You immediately get a freshness kick on the skin. Shortly after, the citrus freshness is complemented by a bitter green tea. As it develops further, the white flowers gently emerge and are rounded off by the musk.

S/D:
As usual with "freshies," unfortunately, the longevity is quite weak here as well. Projection is not worth mentioning.

Conclusion:
Besides the weak S/D, the sprayer is unfortunately also unsatisfactory, but that's it for the points of criticism. The DNA is very beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone looking to enter the world of tea fragrances.

The ancient ceremony of tea in a bottle! Refreshing, floral, vibrant but not metallic, with a rounder base. Perfectly balanced. I love it!

I'm sitting in the garden and I've peeled an orange. My hands smell of dull, bitter peel. There's a cup of tea on the table.

Herbal green tea with citrus sprinkles. Similar to E.A.. Subtle + delicate with soft flowers. Quickly sinks into a woody musk bed.

Pleasant tea scent with a fresh top note and a lovely warm musk drydown. Absolutely office-safe. More unisex for me.

I'm still testing it, but I can already tell it's a great summer candidate. Tea-like, citrusy, slightly bitter with a little kick.

Zesty-fruity-fresh mandarin that gradually turns into mandarin leaf green. A lovely summer casual scent!

Citrusy-mandarin (a bit bright) accompanied by a bitter-herb (tea? mineral water?-) note. Doesn't excite me. Doesn't bother me.
