Must buy underrated basic blue
The colour of this bottle suits it fine.
Really.

This is not a classic cool water in eau de parfum flanker livery. Definitely not. This a medium synthetic modern affordable perhaps mainstream "Blue" offering from Davidoff. It is quite wearable.
It is moderately linear. It opens with a gentle citrus. This settles through slight barbershop vibe of fresh sparkly foam without too much lavender into a coumarin resinous slightly coconut illusion which is not really coconut. It is based on amber and some ambroxan which probably adds to the blue style impression. A sort of gentle blue without the green herbs.

It is quite strong. Compared to classic cool water an edp indeed in performance. Not an office scent at all. More out, evening, a bite.

A great affordable scent to grab if you "donnowhat". It is not a complex rich journey though. But you know what, at this price you feel rich.
This one is so affordable and straightforward I try to mix and layer it with anything. It can give some backbone to fruity and warm scents that miss performance.

What Sauvage should be
I really like it.

Modern sweet ambroxan touch over a lavender masculine backbone. Some classic citrus in top and here we go on a modern fougere trip. No moss, but it gets compensated with patchouli and ambroxan sparkle. In the drydown I even spot some of that old school trad male Eau Sauvage similarity but slightly modern. "Mineral sweeter". Graphite.

This is known as a polished Sauvage (non - Eau !). Well I say, polish on. I am not a Sauvage fan. Perhaps I am so much into lavender that I see in Sauvage a disruptor of the purple magic, where Carbon encapsulates it and lifts it to the stage. That lavender explosion? I simply want it.

Of all clamied "synthetics" I like this one the most.

Basic scent, Winter is coming
One of my first ones.
It is cozy. Fruity cinnamon woodsy....
It used to be enough of everything.
Except as a spring and summer companion.

Layering adds a lot. You can push this a bit towards warmth with some amber powerhouse. You can add some lavender touch to push it towards classic fougere. Or you can do both.
I love those things and the price on this is forgiving for such quests.

Acqua Di Colonia Mare
To be honest, this fragrance opens up like a mediterranean eau de cologne. A sort of herbal citrus that one can find in Gomez Aqua Concentrada. Or Acqua Di Parmas. Not exquisitely original but more than fine. With an Italian DNA this is more than natural. The marine notes are much more subtle than classic aquatic power bottles. The rosemary "heart" note is there from the start, more than the sea can top it.
Lavender arises gently. Like it should. There is a journey.
And then there is the citrus / fougere plateau. Stays there for an hour or 2-3ish. Then it drops to the base, much more subtle than I perhaps would like.

On the card a slightly marine but mainly mandarin citrus fest for an hour or two. And than less of it all. Seems the rosemary is less present on paper.

Nice fragance? Yes. allround. Performance is definitely not beast mode. But perhaps a slightly less marine allrounder that in a bad mood can be described as a adg'ed southern eau de cologne.
The ADG (non-profondo) parfumo is more "profondo".
Time to test Azzaro Chrome Extreme....

PS. IMHO one of the most beautiful bottles out there.

Fantastic .... commercial goal getter
I almost gave it seven all over. But the bottle is actually stunning.
This one has everything to be a succes. A bit sweet, a bit minty, more than just citrus, a bit oakmoss, the obviously needed vanilla, .... and so on.
A classic succes. A CEO pleaser. Of the company selling this I mean.
The opening has some stuff that reminds of a "smoothened nineties". A hidden shower gel thing. The thing that makes it popular and the same thing that puts off those that seek more in fragrance.

I just wanted the fragrance itself would live a bit more to the colour, and bottle which I just seem to like a tad more than the actual scent. So yes, perhaps I'm too old for this scent. I even prefer to keep Cool Water in the closet over this big time. Not because it is the best scent ever, but it ticks more boxes. It's more a classic yes, but is rougher too in the good way. A bit like ... a bit contrary is ok. This one lacks some backbone. Lacks a bit of awkward unique kick. Just too much.
