Trapped in the mainstream
"Wild games in the head
With apple and pear in one pot

Heart and base without passion
Monotonous concentrate of synthetic juice

In the drydown only missionary position
No passionate illumination

Tentative applause
Climax fails to materialize"

As grandiose as the opening with the top notes is, it becomes all the more monotonous from around minute 30
Like a team that leads 1:0 and doesn't want to take any more risks.

I find everything quite mainstream and smooth. Logical when the model is a designer.
The pleasant fruity sweetness remains, but something is missing.
However, the performance is right.

It remains a satisfying but not spectacular experience.

Triple-Double
Triple-double refers to the performance of having double-digit values in three statistical categories. A triple-double is very rare, is regarded as an outstanding achievement and speaks for a good all-round game.

I got Naxos as a bottling. It was the first ever set of niche fragrances I got from my perfume brother-in-law. Most of them were labeled, but all of them were completely unknown to me at the time. I took one of them out of the box the next day before work, it was a turquoise 5 ml plastic sample without any labeling. I applied it, was pleasantly surprised and spent the office day with it without knowing who it was. I only sprayed it on a little, if at all.

I don't remember if anyone asked me about the fragrance that day, it was too long ago. But I can still remember one thing clearly. When I was at home and looked out of the window, a voice said to me that I smelled good. The person wasn't close, the window I was looking out of was on the first floor. That was amazing, as it had been 10 hours since the application. A few days later, I found out which fragrance was in this unlabeled tube...

Naxos deserves the triple-double, which I am awarding for the first time. The three 10s can be used in all possible constellations without doing anything wrong.

So far, it is the most remarkable fragrance I have come across. Everything just fits. It's almost perfect. Everyone loves it, that's no coincidence. It's a decade. A milestone. I bow my head.

Love-hate relationship
I think I have a penchant for perfumes that I would like to drink. Delicious alcoholic / fruity rum. Ingenious. But sometimes the genius turns into madness and the fragrance experience becomes too much for me in the truest sense of the word and somehow overwhelms me. Iommi doesn't give you any breaks and is in your face the whole time. Always on the 12 - all the time. And in this top quality. And this can become torture. I'm deliberately writing this review without a paragraph because that's exactly how it is with this fragrance. Non-stop, without a period, without a comma. No room to breathe. It is penetrating. It constricts you. It captivates you. I've never had a perfume that was so demanding. As if the senses are overwhelmed and at some point there is no more room for so much beauty. But you can't let go of it either. Somehow an interesting connection. Love-hate relationship?

Black olive
It was only supposed to be a statement, as I can't tell you very much about Ivory Route. But it was too long for a statement.

Without thinking twice, I put it in my circle of outstanding perfumes. I thought for weeks about what the heart of the fragrance reminds me of, this red thread that is there from start to finish. I couldn't figure it out myself. My perfume brother-in-law told me thanks to his fine nose - and then the scales fell from my eyes: it's the smell of pickled black olives!

I think that's the main character of the perfume from A to Z. The black olive is omnipresent and that's a good thing.

If fragrance could rain from the sky...
One of the few fragrances that I rated as outstanding that didn't immediately click. It was part of my first ever selection of bottlings, which I had been given by my brother-in-law to get to know niche perfumes. At the time, I couldn't foresee that he would infect me with his passion. Had the Oud Satin Mood as a 3 ml bottling in the extrait version, which you know you have to spray very sparingly.

As I said, it took me a little time to familiarize myself with it. I tried it every now and then on a test strip and smelled the spray head on the bottle. Then one day I wore it in its full form in the office to give it a full day's scent. Again, I was torn. Some things about it I liked (that delicious jammy, as our favorite YouTube fragrance expert so aptly put it), others not so much (when the rose came through too dominant). On the way home, I was still undecided.

But then I entered the bedroom. The room where I had applied the fragrance in the morning. Scents in the most beautiful colors floated around. The most dreamlike nuances rained down from the ceiling. A fragrance painting that could not have been painted more beautifully. A dreamlike olfactory concert that could not have been played more beautifully. And I stood in this room and was overwhelmed.

That was the moment - albeit much later than with most of the other perfumes I have rated as outstanding - when it clicked. It was clear then that Oud Satin Mood was also outstanding. And from that magical moment in the bedroom, I was also able to perceive this scent firework on my skin while wearing it. And I understood the perfume - albeit only after a while.
