In the Thrill of the Scent...
I will first attempt a brief description of the fragrance...the often-shared impression of a luxurious sunscreen or after-sun lotion has also captured me directly..I am unusually unable to provide much more description...
Why? Ideally, perfume should evoke emotions or associations in the wearer...for me, this would be an understatement with the French Riviera...
The scent catapults me straight back to vacation, when after a wonderful, sunny day at the beach, freshly showered, I apply after-sun lotion, sitting on the terrace with a glass of chilled white wine...not yet in evening attire but casually enjoying the evening sun in a bath towel, soaking up the fizz of summer...until my better half joins me with the same aura and outfit, sun-kissed, and thoughts quickly arise that could necessitate a second shower...
Please forgive me this slightly ambiguous description of what this scent triggers in me...it resembles a high of flashbacks...I know no scent from my collection that has captivated me so intensely and continues to do so. Unfortunately, I could never wear it at work...concentration would be impossible with all the vacation memories...but when I want to travel in my thoughts, I spray this scent on...while others take drugs for their "trip," I use the French Riviera...

A Tropical Breeze... as Beautiful as Fleeting
I have tested Coconut Lagoon for several days now in direct comparison to its "older brother," Malibu Party, and I come to the following conclusion.
The scent lives up to what the ingredients promise. A beautiful lime-coconut mix, where, unlike Malibu Party, the coconut and a certain gourmand sweetness take over more quickly. However, this is absolutely suitable for summer and definitely wearable for both men and women. The biggest drawback for me is the longevity and sillage... more than three hours is not achievable for me regarding longevity on my skin - and I consciously did not "over-spray" during testing to avoid becoming nose-blind too quickly. However, in its defense, it shares this fate with its counterpart. I also perceive Malibu Party on my skin after three hours only very, very close and faintly. Those who prefer something fresher, with more lime, will be better served with Malibu. For the slightly "sweeter" among us, Coconut Lagoon is the right choice. In the short drydown, I hardly notice any differences anymore.
Considering the price, I stick with Coconut Lagoon and gladly spray a bit more often - because this fantastic scent deserves to be noticed by the outside world as well.

Liquid Brun Vibes for Spring
The title of my review may seem a bit confusing... like other perfume lovers before me, I also smell similarities to Scandal by JPG. I was able to test this at the airport - in direct comparison to Mandarin Sky, which I had applied for my trip towards the sun.
Both fragrances are similar, but I find Scandal to be even sweeter and heavier than Mandarin. The latter impresses me especially with its consistently present note of ripe mandarins or oranges... hence my association with Liquid Brun or Althair. The fruitiness gives the scent a certain lightness/airiness despite the sweetness from tonka bean and caramel. The fragrance lasts on my clothes for a solid 10 hours, and on my skin for a good 8. It doesn't overwhelm the surroundings, making it a perfect office scent for me. The JPG would not be an option for me due to its sheer sweetness, while Mandarin Sky will surely remain in my heavy rotation this spring...

From Yuck to Wow
I was indeed tempted by the internet hype to make a blind buy. With high expectations, I opened the beautiful packaging, took out the visually pleasing bottle, sprayed three times...and found myself engulfed in an incredibly synthetic-sharp cinnamon cloud...with no trace of the cozy-warm vanilla scent with a hint of orange blossom. I sprayed a little on fabric, hoping the dry down would bring me closer to the "promised" fragrance...unfortunately, no luck...bitterly disappointed, it disappeared into my closet for nearly two months...
Since it continued to be praised online, I gave it another chance after those two months..
And lo and behold...a toast to maceration: the ugly duckling had turned into a beautiful swan..
The opening is still a bit harshly cinnamon-y...but it dissipates quickly and gives way to the already mentioned notes of vanilla, cinnamon, praline, and the ever-present orange blossom.
Longevity and sillage are above average, and I actually received compliments for the scent even six hours after spraying it during the first "long test".
Conclusion: The hype is real...just give it some time if needed..

A Dream in a Golden Bottle
After I have now been stranded in the perfume bubble for about three months and have since succumbed a bit (more) to the buying frenzy, here is my first review of my current favorite scent - Kingdom.
I do not yet own the OG and dared to make a blind buy due to the good reviews.
And I have not regretted it for a second.
A wonderful, sweet-spicy scent that gets a light fresh kick from the mint. Even though the mint is only listed in the top notes, I still perceive it throughout the entire scent development.. thus the fragrance does not become purely sweet dessert-like and has office suitability for me - especially in autumn and winter.
This is also related to the only small drawback of the fragrance.
Longevity is about 5 hours for me, but lately only close to the skin. Sillage is good for about an hour, but then, in my opinion, it quickly diminishes. However, it is still perceivable in close proximity. Hence my assessment of its office suitability.
Today, I held the OG up against it.. I find both identical in scent development.. my still untrained nose at least does not smell any difference.
But: The OG has, in my feeling, turned the "volume" up significantly.
I found it to be noticeably more intense than the Kingdom - and thus perfect for nightlife/date/club.
Conclusion: The already half-empty Kingdom will definitely be reordered and will be my daily companion in the cooler months. The OG will still find its way into the house on occasion and will be saved for special occasions.
Oh, and last but not least: My wife usually does not like my acquired sweet fragrances very much... but she likes this one.. I’ll attribute it to the mint.
So, a clear blind buy recommendation from me.
