Dior Iso E-Homme
Honestly, dear Parfumo community, what is your problem? If Dior had kept the old DNA and simply modified it, people would probably complain about a lack of innovation. Now the perfumer has thrown the old concept overboard and created something entirely new, yet the outcry and disappointment seem to be significant, at least in the die-hard community. Actually, there’s no reason to worry, after all, your old Dior Homme line is still being produced.

Here, similar to what was done with Sauvage, a fragrance has been created that can be worn year-round, interpreting a classic fragrance DNA in a new and modern way, so that both young and old can wear it. For me, this scent definitely has an old gentleman touch, but I love it when aged fragrances are modernly interpreted and thus become wearable again. Dior has definitely succeeded in this, and this aspect should be highlighted and appreciated. I can imagine this scent on a 40-year-old in a suit, but just as much on a 25-year-old city guy who earns his money as a blogger and constantly wears the trendiest clothes.

As for the fragrance DNA, I don’t quite understand this criticism. The scent is understated, a bit fresh in the opening due to the bergamot, and woody throughout its entire progression; I can’t really identify or describe much more than that. I can understand why some find it boring, but it definitely stands out from the sweet designer mainstream. There are definitely parallels to Molecule 01 here, except that Dior Homme almost undermines the existence of the old insider tip. I found that one too boring!

I’m sure that the current reviews are more a result of defiance and disappointment over the beloved Dior Homme line, rather than because the scent is so bad. Give it a few years, and it will probably be hyped similarly to Sauvage. Dior fragrances are often a bit ahead of their time and, just like Chanel, not infrequently set trends that the industry then follows for a long time.

And please always keep in mind, we are talking about a designer release aimed at the mainstream. No niche!

For me, a solid release from Dior, I will definitely wear it often in spring!

A modern take on Neroli
Classic neroli scents just don't seem to fit a younger person, it must be due to the grandma association and 4711, a curse so to speak, made in Germany. It's a shame really, because I generally like this note very much.

The new flanker from Bulgari could provide a remedy. The face of the advertising campaign is a 33-year-old model named Nick Bateman, who became known through Instagram and various other social media. If you stick this guy on a poster, it must be a modern fragrance, even with neroli?

The answer is clearly: Yes! Alberto Morillas has created a youthful neroli scent here that, in my opinion, can easily be worn in your mid-twenties, and is naturally compatible for older ages.

Right after spraying, you get this juicy neroli freshness, which is significantly tamed by the bergamot, creating this modern twist, very nice!
The progression proves to be very gentle, the term "woody amber" describes it almost perfectly. All in all, this is a very bright, fresh, and soft fragrance.

As for the performance, not much can be expected here, logically, because it lacks a dark wood base. The citrusy freshness lasts about 2 hours and then transforms into a creamy amber wood, coming across very softly. On my skin, I managed to achieve a longevity of about 6 hours.

The only point of criticism: I would have liked a darker wood note, which I also complained about back when Wood Essence was released. But okay, they wanted to target the mainstream and the younger audience here. Comparisons to Ferrari's Bright Neroli or Neroli Portofino are therefore not really meaningful.

In summary, Wood Neroli by Bulgari is, in my opinion, the best designer release of 2019. At that time, I was desperately searching for a wearable and modern neroli scent, and this one came just in time.

The Symbol of a Long-Lasting Friendship
Yes, I know that uncomplicated and fresh, even synthetic fragrances have a hard time on a platform like Parfumo. Everything has already been smelled, and there is a tendency to give the highest ratings to high-quality and unique niche scents.

One can certainly debate quality and craftsmanship, but at the end of the day, there is an absolutely indisputable law: it states that only pleasure makes beautiful.

Before I explain why I like Lacoste Blanc so much, I want to take a moment to talk about my fragrance philosophy.

I am sure that many perfume enthusiasts closely associate scents with emotional events or life stages from the past. This fragrance here describes a truly wonderful time, namely the summer of 2012. I had just finished my bachelor's degree and had to wait almost a whole year for my master's place. It was a year full of fun, friendships, and party excesses. I still remember exactly when I received a Lacoste gift box from my parents for Easter, which included this white one among others. Wow, it immediately captivated me, invigorating and fruity, the associations with freshly washed white laundry were undeniable. The very next day, my buddy approached me about this scent. He liked it so much that he had to buy it for himself right away.

Almost 8 years later, I now own my 4th bottle of Lacoste Blanc, and I must admit, it will never leave my fragrance collection. My now best friend feels the same way; it has remained his favorite scent to this day. An uncomplicated yet unique and fresh-floral fragrance, with which you will surely receive many compliments.

What is much more important to me, however, is that this scent represents an unforgettable summer and a long-lasting friendship that continues to this day. Times that I always like to remember.

The Bergamot Benchmark for Collectors
With citrus scents, it’s inevitably a love-hate relationship. They soothe our heated minds in summer and stimulate the senses, but unfortunately, they don’t last very long. After a few hours, the magic is usually over, and the molecules bid farewell to our skin.

Dior Homme Cologne is no exception; on the contrary, due to its simple and citrus-heavy fragrance pyramid, it quickly becomes clear: the scent really can’t last long.

What a shame, as it smells incredibly authentic and grand. I actually stored it in the fridge during the summer and then sprayed it on in the sweltering heat, right after coming out of the shower. Wow, what an experience! It was like slicing into an ice-cold lemon or bergamot, absolutely natural and unembellished.

Right off the bat: this fragrance is an EdT, so the term Cologne is just a choice of words. I don’t think I need to mention that the performance of Dior Homme Cologne is nearly negligible; especially when sweating in summer, the citrus refreshment on the skin doesn’t even last an hour. That wouldn’t be so bad for me if I didn’t have to deal with this, in my opinion, too high price. 110 euros for a fragrance that I have to constantly reapply in the summer heat is a bit steep. For your information: I haven’t used this scent that often in summer and have already used about 25 ml.

Therefore, I conclude that Dior Homme Cologne is more of a benchmark for me, a collector's piece that you place on the shelf. You enjoy smelling the bottle, spray it on in summer, and delight in the grandiose-authentic bergamot, but in my eyes, this whole story isn’t really practical.
Let’s be honest, who among us carries their fragrance in their bag and sprays it on as needed? Then there are the so-called travel atomizers, but do I really want to painstakingly transfer my Dior fragrance? I’d rather not.

Blue Herbal Mix
A bright blue sky while I hear the wind rustling through the pines in the background. The mild spring makes the ground beneath my feet shine in magnificent green, I feel comfortable, pure, and uncomplicated. I don't want to stand out today, to seduce anyone, no. I just want to enjoy my walk through this beautiful Mediterranean landscape and breathe in the cool sea air.

I am surprised, as my outing has already lasted almost 7 hours. I would not have thought I had been out for so long. But it must be due to those vibrant lavender fields, or perhaps the elegantly shaped Italian pines?

Sometimes a fragrance doesn't need to be complex or unique, because as long as it evokes unique moments and memories within you, it has achieved its purpose. This very scene goes through my mind when I spray Artisan Blu. It is uncomplicated and fresh, yet it has something very natural, almost connected to nature. You won't find classic designer synthetic notes or bubblegum sweetness here, at least that's my opinion. What makes the fragrance so great for me, however, is the herbal mix in the fragrance pyramid.

I have no issues with longevity here. As I described in my little story above, this scent lasts on me for about 7 hours or more. Of course, it stays close to the skin, but here you can confidently apply a few extra sprays to enhance longevity.

For me, a great and affordable designer fragrance from the Artisan line.
