Probably the most beautiful gourmand.
Probably the most beautiful gourmand.

Usually, salt+caramel perfumes are heavy, too much sweet, plain and cosy but boring... But not this one. It is sweet and creamy but in a light fashion. The pimento gives a very special touch that makes this perfume stands out. It also has facets of a musky floral, I can totally imagine a vale full of white flowers in bloom. And a lot of sun. It is a feel good perfume but elegant at the same time. It is simple but has some complexity at the same time. As I said, it can be elegant but is also fun. In my skin is lineal though and the bad duration is true

This Luna will enchant you or let you super indiferent.
I feel this perfume enchant you or let you super meh, not in between feelings.

The first time, in winter, I feel the second. I only smelled a common citric-woody perfume, I didnt understand what conexion there is between lemons and the moon.

Today, a very hot spring day, I tried my decant again and I can't believe how beautiful it is what I was smelling. A beatiful light purple night sky appeared in my mind, evoquing a moment of wonder very few perfumes have made me feel. It smelled more like I remembered The favourite instead of what The favourite smells to me right now

This wonderful moment of feelings dissapeared the moment my brain recognized it was like smelling a luxurious rose+lemon soap and the enchant faded away, but it is still very beautiful and pleasant. It also has something orange leaning in the opening

It lasted strong in my skin at least 2h. Now that they have passed 5h, it smells more your typical unisex woody fragrance with the Penhaligon DNA I am getting used by this point.

A clean soft pleasant chypre with milky peaches
I think I have some kind of noseblindness with this one or something, because I feel this is supposed to be a strong sofisticated perfume, but for me is just some creamy soft peaches with some touches of dark green that make it fresher and reminds more a soapy chypre.

Very clean and soapy. But yeah, the main player here is peach, milky peaches

I will try in different weathers because Penhaligon's to me change in my skin depending of how hot it is

Nostalgic and futuristic masterpiece for the Summer
Me liking this one is very funny because:

1. I usually don't like citric perfumes
2. Solaris is how I am calling the secret sci-fi retro evil empire of the novel I am writing until I think in something more original.
3. My sister, who is very similar to me but at the same time we couldnt be more different, loves Luna. So I find very amusing that I like the opposite one xD. Also usually I am the one who leans to darker nocturnal gothic perfumes and she is the one who loves happier solar citric fresh perfumes so I don't know what is happening here!

But well, the perfume:

I think weather plays an important role on this line of perfumes because during Christmas I loved Babylone but Solaris was meh. And now I hated Babylone but love this one.

It is creamy and a little soapy, orangy and white flowers, but blended in a way it is not orange in your nose, and although it leans orangy I can't say I am smelling orange, because it is more original, complex and well blended than that (in fact, to my sister it has more lemon, she didnt smell orange at all xd). I usually like musky and vintage white flowers so perhaps is this and I am on my 30's so perhaps if you are younger you can find this one mature but for me just it is interestingly fresh and beautiful, with the touch of mistery a city called Solaris should have. This is a funny perfume to me in a good way because it is nostalgic but futuristic at the same time!

I don't know how a perfume that if I think about it rationaly she can be so original, but the emotions she evoques in me are so bland and generic
I need to try this one with colder weather, I feel I can make more justice to her, but well, what I smelled yesterday in a very hot spring day:

I still don't know if I consider this one very original and beautiful or very generic and bland, that's why I feel the weather can play its part here.

At first smell she is beautiful. I was attended by a very knowlodgeable woman who seems to have similar tastes to me and I wanted to smell Babylone because I thought it was going to be more a dreamful vanille and she warned me to try too Constantinople because I was going to be surprised. He told me that in her skin Babylone doesn't work but she loves Constantinople and she was totally right.

Babylone, on paper, is a beautiful elegant soft cinamon and other things, sweet but elegant, but in my skin is like burned rubber, super strong and masculine. Constantinople, by other hand, is more vanillic sweet, but not your typicall yellow vanille. This one draws in my mind a very interesting colour palet of purples and pinks that I have never seen before if that have any sense. I think I have sinestesia because when I smell a perfume, I see very clearly different colours and this one I can't figure what was but I have never smelled before an oriental warm perfume with purple and blue undertones(???) because that seems contradictory, but here we are.

The problem is the more I smelled it, the more sweeter it became. I think it is the iris because the only iris so far I can wear without headaches is Francesca Bianchi's heavenly buttery iris. But here, the perfume was getting sweeter, more traditional feminine, more boring. Vanille+iris was becoming too much for me, not at the level of Aqua di Parma's Mandorlo di Sicilia -that one is headache inducing- but.... I was not feeling it and a perfume has to make me feel something, speak to my soul, and I supose this one is not for me, but for the price she has, she remembered me a generic boring burgoise woman. I don't know how a perfume that if I think about it rationaly she can be so original, but the emotions she evoques in me are so bland and generic. Perfumery is a mistery to me an that's why I love it!

The duration is mediocre. I don't think it lasted on my skin more than 4h but I was wearing more perfumes on my skin so this is not the most trustworthy way of tasting this.

Damn, I am ancient history nerd so I wanted too much to like Babylone or Constantinople because I love the stories setled in them, but I suppose english colonialism has ruined them lol xD. Surprisly, the sales woman recomended to me Solaris too and this one was better, so next parade: Solaris!
