Spicy & fresh!
This one is a bit more fresh than the perfume. The perfume is incredibly heavy on the vanilla while the body spray is spicy, green and fresh with a hint of sweetness. Definitely dries down a bit sweeter but still has that fresh spiciness. I think I prefer the body spray over the perfume as you get more value for money.

A One for One comparison to the perfume
This smells like the perfume version to the T. And the value of this bottle at the price point ( around $45) makes this worth it. Pepper and patchouli are the main notes that are smelt upfront, with warm vanilla settling in at the base. This being said, it’s incredibly strong so a few sprays (2-4) is all you need. The best value at lush imo.

Earth-Patch Vanilla and nothing else…
Or was there cotton candy?

I accidentally discovered a LUSH store near me, and with that, the perfect invitation to finally sniff a few of the currently very hyped LUSH products.
From earlier, I still carry the memory of colorful bath bombs and glitter soaps with extremely artificial scents, where I had to flee the store in a sudden migraine attack (I normally don’t suffer from migraines at all) after no more than half an hour.
This time, it wasn’t much different for me, but I did manage to get a few nice things in my shopping bag, one of which was the lovely body spray "Lord of Misrule (Body Spray) | Lush / Cosmetics To Go".
The scent starts typically LUSH, screaming and artificial as one knows from LUSH. But here, the magic begins when you give the scent time to settle down.

Right at the beginning, I smell real earth, but in a bright, not musty patchouli typical earthy accord. Alongside it comes a cotton candy-like sweet vanilla, and a green, peppery freshness in the undertone makes the scent appear really lively.

This patch vanilla play lasts for hours, and it’s fun to sniff.

The projection is what surprises me. This body spray guarantees a very good sillage; however, the scent cloud is significantly more balanced and elegant than what is perceived directly on the skin.

The scent indeed radiates floral patchouli, much more mature and rounded than expected, and over time, in the dry down and on clothing, it becomes more beautiful, softer, and higher quality with each passing hour than at the beginning of the session.

It’s my first “beautiful dry down scent” where I can hardly wait for the dry down because I know that from this moment on, I will have a wonderful scent for hours. And when I say hours, I really mean all day long because this scent has, phew, really good staying power…

I can only recommend testing this scent for this price if you like sweet patchoulis, and if it becomes too much on the skin, it still makes a beautiful room spray.

However, we have this typical artificial sauna oil aftertaste that resonates in all LUSH products. That’s a matter of personal taste, and it doesn’t bother me here as long as I only wear the scent when I really feel like it.

Dosage also plays an important role here to avoid headaches and nausea: here, it’s definitely a case of less is more.

For me, it suits any age, and I see it more on women. For very young girls, it could come off as vintage due to the dominant patchouli, but the vanilla makes it so bright that it appears more vintage than outdated.

All in all, a lovely scent that I’m sure I will enjoy a lot.

And how about you? Do you have a few LUSHs on your fragrance wishlist?

Thank you for reading my review and warm regards

Bought in 2025 looking forward to peppery/patchouli fragrance. It smells 100% gourmand to me. Almost identical to Super Milk. Confused.

The greatest autumn/winter fragrance, if you like patchouli.

Simple but beautiful. Similar to the perfume, but I think this has a bit more patchouli, less vanilla. Impressive strength for a body spray!

Definitely earthy, musty, and spicey, alright. I associate this peppery scent with the fall/Halloween season.

Get lost where the pepper grows and breathe in the good earth, dry-sensual and warm spicy-vanilla.

My absolute favorite scent. Relatively expensive for a body spray but performs like a perfume.
