Celeb fragrances: what are your favs and why?

I am very cautious about giving more money to any celebrity. It will not change anything about their wealth, but I still don’t want to contribute. 

The number of celebrities who have been guilty of criminal behaviors and the out of touch behaviors, like too many flights. That’s why I would only buy their fragrance secondhand. 

That being said celebs fragrances can have excellent value for money. I didn’t really like Fantasy because unless I layer it the cupcake and chocolate are not that present, compared to the fruity side. But I can’t say it was a scam or a loss of money. I can see why people love celeb fragrances. 

It's definitely an important point of view. Buying secondhand is always great and you can also find awesome discontinued gems that way. But I think it also depends on the celebrity - not all are criminals or unethical so there's no point of judging a whole group of people just because some of them are misbehaving. In addition, unethical issues aren't only happening within celebrity perfume industry - also many big designer houses etc. exploit natural resources and workforce and so on. I don't think celebrity perfumes would be especially unethical compared to the majority of all fragrances, actually realistically speaking majority of all perfume producing companies just want to make profit and don't care too much about anything else, and responsible and completely transparent companies are a tiny minority, probably mostly they would be small indie companies. Sometimes it's even the same company manufacturing both the celebrity perfume and the more expensive option, or both even use exactly the same ingredients and it's only the label that makes the other one more expensive. Thus I don't see a point of looking down celebrity perfumes based on them being more unethical than other perfumes because they're not. Something being niche and expensive doesn't automatically mean that it's ethical, and something being cheap or advertised by a celebrity doesn't automatically mean that it's unethical. It always depends on the case, there's no way to generalize.

Oh, wow: I LOVED WHAT YOU WROTE! Some celebrity perfumes, more in the U.S. region, are seen many times as something "whatever" or even "trash". Yes some are! But others deserve their "crown". My favorites are:

Fantasy Eau de Parfum / No introduction, this one is world-famous one! 👏🏻👏🏻 Amazing white-chocolate and chantilly-cupcake scent with fruits-citruses! Sexy, grown up and feverous! It is funny because it's mainly marketed at young girls. Lol. Newer versions are less dense, more sour and lighters. So sad this reformulation! In my country, Brazil, we had this very similiar scent, that is: Coffee Woman Seduction, but it was diluted as hell in the last years. Typical cynical and wrong thing of O Boticário to do!

Paris Hilton Eau de Parfum / It used to be easier to find, now it's a little more difficult and expensive; like a few Paris Hilton perfumes in the last years! But it smells mainly like a aquatic-fresh-floral scent. I used to LUV this one! Similiar to Ralph, but less expensive.

Midnight Heat / Tropical fruits with night blooms. Bey DISCONTINUED her perfume line with Coty. 😂

Viva La Juicy Noir / *Not a celeb brand, but fits into it! Lol.* Lovely moderated red berries with a fava tonka-vanilla touch. Sadly a very light and weak scent, like ANY VLJ perfume. The price is way too expensive for the performance of the fragrance. Not worth it!

Sorry, but I struggle to answer to your post because you put a lot of words in my mouth.

I never said that niche and designer were all ethical. Where did I say that ? Nowhere. I didn’t mention ethical issues of niche and designer houses because it wasn’t the topic.

Now I'm confused. Where did I say that you said that? Nowhere either. I just wanted to point out that all celebrity perfumes are not necessarily more unethical than any other perfumes so what's the point of boycotting all celebrity perfumes - after all they are not that different from other perfumes. I understood from your post that you're never buying any celebrity fragrances except secondhand because they are especially unethical because so many celebrities are criminals and fly too much etc. I apologise if that wasn't what you were saying, unfortunately English isn't my first language.
