Do you smell a constant stream of it for hours? Or do you smell it heavily for 30 minutes to an hour and then get little wafts of it throughout the day?
How do you experience fragrance?
I like for it to be present in the background but not overpowering if that makes sense. I don't want it in my face for 24 hours straight

We didn’t evolve in a manner to constantly smell the same smell but to detect new smells. I spray less because too much and it gets blocked. But if I just have a little I get “new” whiffs throughout the day.
More information from online (copy/paste):
Our sense of smell evolved as a survival mechanism to detect changes in our environment, such as the presence of danger (smoke, predators) or opportunities (food, mates). This is why our olfactory system is particularly sensitive to new or changing smells, a phenomenon known as olfactory adaptation or habituation.

This is very true and leads to overspraying often.
As for the question in this thread: I love those incidental whiffs that pleasantly surprise you while wearing a perfume. I'm experiencing this the most with my Givenchy III (2007) or with my
L'Air du Temps Eau de Parfum
Chronic over sprayer here. Yeah, I'm one of those guys. Like to experience a cloud of fumes for hours.

Same here, but I only spray behind my ears and at the back of my neck. I guess we have a different culture, overspraying is common and welcome. It's all in good fun, even at work. Sometimes I catch my colleagues following my scent trail like bloodhounds lol.
