Lovely, fresh, versatile and beautyful
Edit: On Givenchy's website the notes listed are:
- Head notes : Hyacinth Accord
- Heart notes : Orris Concrete from Morocco
- Base notes : Patchouli Essence from Indonesia
Oh my oh my, this is more than lovely! Only just checked Givenchy's website and saw Orris listed as a note and now understand even better why I love it so much!
I wanted a scent for summer that is not 'just fresh', but one that also has some 'pizazz' and can be worn in other seasons too and this is just what I was hoping for!
Compared to other chypres I know, this does not feel as 'a chypre' to me, maybe because there's no oakmoss or bitterness here though I do smell some earthyness in a lovely way.
It is what I wanted Eau Fraîche to be and it reminds me a bit of that before reformulation (now I smell just tea with lemon in Dior Eau Fraiche, not that perfumey vibe it had in the past and it is so weak now).
But this...this is even more lovely than Eau Fraiche was in the past.
Very versatile and with much better performance.
It has that quality that makes one get whifs of the scent during the day. Sometimes flowery, sometimes soapy (not aldehydic or 'clean soapy' though), but always classy and beautyful and, at the same time, whithout pretentions.
Mine is the latest formulation, the bottle is as pictured above, batchcode says it's from march 2024; I think the version from 2007 was an other bottle with a transparent, plastic cap like the cap from Ysatis Parfum.
I don't know how it smelled before this latest reformulation, I don't need to know, this is so lovely!
The scent builds an aura around me that makes me feel happy and well groomed, no matter what clothes I'd wear.
I think It can be worn year round in any season and for any occasion, but in summer it will probably benefit from the warmth.
It's unisex, but leaning feminine in my opinion.
Best buy since long and I'm totally, head over heels in love with this scent!
