Beautiful, "wild" cocktail - leather meets wild berries
First of all: Brooklyn Soap - a more than solid men's cosmetics brand.
Here, too, the above is no exception with this fragrance, but an announcement.
About the fragrance..
I bought it around October 2022 via the brand's website, as the brand has been my everyday go-to men's skincare brand for some time.
The fragrance notes of "Purple Ink" then appealed to me more than just promisingly.
I simply love leather fragrances with depth and character.
My biggest weakness when it comes to perfumes.
So, said, seen, bought.
Delivery was fast and reliable.
At the time, I was still new to the world of fragrances and I have to admit that this fruity, warm berry/leather/oud/fruit cocktail blew me away.
Definitely in a positive sense!
In the opening you can recognize the mandarin, which changes somewhere between juicy and dry and is very discreetly accompanied by a fruity sourness.
Before the stars of the show enter the stage after about 5-10 minutes.
And the stars of the show for me are definitely the berry accords, somewhere between blackberry, blueberry and blackcurrant, which, to my nose, come across very harmoniously with a beautiful suede accord.
Oud and patchouli, discreetly dosed here, provide depth, which suits the fragrance DNA well. Vanilla and rose are only subtly perceptible, but make the overall picture very cuddly.
Level of the fragrance:
Definitely niche and in my opinion it comes off far too badly here.
Or, I'm just a sucker for berry leather scents (of which I don't think there are enough on the market!)
The scent stays on my skin for about 6-7 hours. On clothes significantly (!) longer. Here I'm talking about at least 3 days.
The sillage is decent in the first hour, after which it slowly but surely moves towards the skin.
After two hours, Purple Ink becomes a skin scent, where it remains until the final fade.
Conclusion:
Warm fruit and leather cocktail that always works in fall, winter and especially in spring.
I still like the fragrance very much today.
I will probably order it again soon.
Longevity is okay.
Unfortunately, the sillage is on the lower side of average, considering that the pyramid provides such depth and the whole character of the perfume calls for a strong sillage.
I will probably reorder it again soon, but for me this is a fragrance that I would really like to see an extrait version of!
PS:
Maybe I'm the only one, but I can't deny a certain similarity to Nouveau Monde.
