Well-Groomed Office Scent
I like beige, pink, and white flacons. I also enjoy scents like J'adore Eau de Parfum and the like - on the test strip and, for example, on a good friend. But unfortunately, often not on me because a) they either contain vanilla as a note (yuck yuck yuck) or b) they turn terribly cloying on my pesky skin.
These subtly elegant, minimally floral creations, which are almost reminiscent of rather expensive body lotions, are just so beautiful. They don’t have to be overpowering; I don’t want to cause headaches for my office colleague in our small two-person office, and sexy doesn’t have to be a priority in that context either. I’m looking for Grace Kelly in a beige blazer and white blouse for the office.
I’ve been using Eternity Eau de Parfum since the 90s and I particularly like it in the summer; it’s a bit greener and fresher. Eau Fresh has this pink creaminess that makes it feel a bit more feminine and elegant. Yet it still remains fresh and sporty in some way. As I said, it’s more suited for the office than a candlelit dinner.
Pear is nonexistent on my skin; in general, I hardly perceive the top note, as the flowers almost immediately take over, but they remain moderate. The sillage is also moderate, but that’s okay; who wants to walk through the halls like a scent comet?
I find the longevity for an EdT to be about 3-4 hours (better on clothing!) and then it lingers closer to the body for even longer. In small rooms or during the first hour, it is still perceptible to those around me, but remains discreet. My mentioned office mate immediately remarked, "Mmm, your body lotion smells great."
I find the prices of Calvin Klein fragrances to be excellent. I don’t have to pay over €80 for 50ml out of principle, under the crazy assumption that only then would something olfactorily acceptable be found on the shelf.
I won’t elaborate much on the flacon; it won’t win any beauty awards, but it’s not ugly either, simple and uniform, and somehow fits the understated main theme (and hey, it’s space-saving!)
Eau Fresh has become my all-purpose weapon for daytime use; only in very warm temperatures do I prefer something more citrusy, as it becomes too floral/creamy for me. But for spring/fall/winter (in NRW, it’s pretty much a constant temperature), it works perfectly.
