the ideal matcha
After Sorce’s "Match Made in Heaven | Sorcellerie Apothecary" BLEW UP all over the internet, I became obsessed with finding the perfect sweet matcha scent. And while I thoroughly enjoy MMIH, the matcha is not nearly strong enough in there to call it a matcha scent. So I went searching, high and low, dug around the r/indiemakeupandmore subreddit, and stumbled across this beauty, Kuidaore.

From their Japanese collection of Fantôme, Kuidaore does exactly what it sets out to do. It’s a delicious, fluffy, fried dough fragrance with a matcha that really packs a punch. It’s not too sweet, unlike "Match Made in Heaven | Sorcellerie Apothecary" is (MMIH is sugar crystal sweet and Kuidaore is powdered sugar sweet) but it’s sweet enough to still be gourmand. It’s slightly powdery and earthy from the bitter matcha, and it makes me hungry when I wear it. I think even someone that doesn’t love gourmand could take a liking to this delicate scent.

One thing about Kuidaore that I also love is that it does not lack when it comes to performance. It’s fairly strong sillage-wise and is long lasting. To me, it’s the ideal, most well balanced sweet matcha out there.

Pure pastry shop and wafting vanilla. Just a hint of bitterness coming through in the dry down. I want to eat this.

Sweet fried dough with a base of cream and an earthy overtone of matcha. Like having funnel cake and matcha at a fair.
